Some time later,
we finally arrived at the house.
Elvera and I stood quietly in front of the door to my home. For a brief moment, I hesitated. Elvera was a Hero—or rather, a former one—but the habit of caution still clung to me. This place was filled with Villains, people the Hero Association would never accept. I couldn't help but wonder whether she would feel uncomfortable living under the same roof as us.
Without realizing it, I glanced sideways at her.
She looked… excited?
Ah… I wasn't entirely sure, but her expression was unmistakably bright, almost as if she were holding back anticipation.
"You look excited, Miss Elvera," I said casually.
She flinched, clearly startled by my comment. Her cheeks instantly flushed red, and she quickly turned her face away.
"A-ah… uhm… no, it's nothing… Please don't mind me,"
she muttered, her voice soft and flustered.
I tilted my head slightly. I didn't really understand what was going on with her, but I decided not to pry.
