Chapter 154 - Chapter 154: Special Agents, Spies, and Monsters Invade

She quietly pressed her weapon, shrinking into a corner and shouting outwards, "Hey, this is just a waste of time. Maybe we can talk. Perhaps we can find a way to reconcile."

"You want to reconcile?" a hoarse, seductive voice responded from not far away. "I have no objections, as long as you hand over the Little Girl next to you."

"That's not possible. I need to protect this Child," Natasha loudly replied. "Or you hand over the data you have, and we go our separate ways. Isn't that better!"

"Your words are quite troubling. I don't see any sincerity for reconciliation from you. You know, you're at a disadvantage right now, aren't you?"

"Put down your sniper rifle, and then we can talk about who's at an advantage, okay?" Natasha said with a sarcastic roll of her eyes. If it weren't for the sniper rifle on the other side, she would have already slipped away with the Child.

"Of course, as long as you take off that strange outfit. Who do you work for? This kind of Advanced equipment isn't common," the Agent on the other side felt much the same as Natasha. She had already shot twice, and each time the damage was blocked by that miraculous uniform.

This hurt her deeply. She even began to suspect if her sniper rifle was just for show or if it had been tampered with.

"Alright, I see. It seems you don't have much sincerity about reconciliation. So, how about we both take a step back?" Natasha, giving up on further verbal sparring, pressed herself against the wall. She surveyed her surroundings, paying particular attention to the signs hanging on the outpatient clinic doors.

"Tell me, I'm listening," the Agent on the other side didn't know what Natasha's real plan was, so she asked cautiously.

"It's simple. Let's use some simple methods, ones that don't require risking our lives, to decide who wins. For example! Oh, damn it!" As Natasha spoke, she suddenly pulled the terrified and dazed Little Girl next to her and rolled to the side.

At that moment, with a loud rumble, a giant arm suddenly tore through thick concrete and rebar, reaching up from the floor below. That arm, with claws as large as a person's thigh, had a huge, hideous eye that scanned wildly. When it saw the girl in Natasha's arms, a terrifying howl echoed from downstairs.

Then came even more violent and urgent rumbling sounds, each one making Natasha feel the floor beneath her feet vibrate. This made her certain that the owner of this arm was frantically digging through the floor. Perhaps it wouldn't be long before they met.

However, Natasha had no desire to meet him. At this point, she no longer cared about the Agent's sniping. She directly raised her arm to protect her head, while doing her best to shield the girl beside her, and sprinted towards the emergency exit at the end of the corridor.

The commotion behind her grew louder and louder. She didn't need to think to know it was the monster's furious rampage. She had already witnessed the terror of this monster and knew what it was searching for.

It was a tragic thing for a former Scientist to turn into this monstrous state, but no matter how tragic he was, it couldn't make her release the Child in her arms.

This Child was a very crucial existence. At least, that's what the information she received indicated. The monster's relentless pursuit of her stemmed from its terrifying instinct; it needed this Child to propagate the virus within it. And Natasha, understanding all of this, naturally wouldn't let such a thing happen.

The t-virus was already terrifying enough; there was no need to let the G-Virus also rage across this World. So, whether for public or private reasons, she had to protect this Child.

Gunfire rang out again, and Natasha instinctively braced herself for pain. But she felt no sensation of being hit. She didn't believe the Agent opposite would miss; their previous engagement had proven her to be a formidable opponent, her unerring aim having given him a lot of trouble.

And the painful roar from behind confirmed her suspicion: the target was not her, but the monster behind her.

The mysterious female Agent opposite seemed to have the same objective as her. They were both collecting data on the virus and simultaneously weakening Umbrella's power. And now, she had made the same decision as Natasha: the monster absolutely could not get this girl.

The sniper rifle bullet struck the giant eye at the base of the monster's arm; such a prominent feature immediately felt like a vital point. The female Agent took a gamble, and it proved her luck was good.

The moment its giant eye was wounded, the monster plunged into a frenzy. Although half of its body was still on the floor below, this did not prevent it from causing massive destruction to its surroundings. With a swing of its massive claws, countless bricks and concrete were sent flying. These things were no different from tofu in front of that giant arm.

And its other arm, which had already extended, though much thinner compared to this giant hand, was still a monstrous thing. A light grasp could leave deep marks on the wall, and even metal objects were easily crushed into strange shapes.

Under the alternating use of its two arms, the frenzied monster had broken free from the floor's restraints, tearing itself out of the concrete and rebar.

Once free, the monster didn't immediately pursue Natasha and the others. Instead, it leaped powerfully with its strong, toad-like hind limbs, while also pushing off with its thick tail, lunging towards the balcony across the floor.

Its fierce and violent posture looked like a Beast, and no Beast in the World could compare to such a monster. The monster, whose mind was now consumed by savagery, had no thought of its original purpose for chasing them all the way here. All it wanted now was to tear the one who had harmed it into shreds.

From this perspective, he was no longer the brilliant Dr., but a true monster. Rationality had completely vanished from his brain.

The huge body traced an almost exaggerated arc in the air, landing on the top-floor balcony. Its heavy body crushed the balcony floor the instant it landed, and the concrete beneath its feet was pulverized. However, this could not vent the savagery within its body, because its target was no longer there.

Aside from a twisted and deformed firearm, there was no one on the balcony. Only an empty rope remained, connected to the edge of the balcony.

The monster let out an angry growl, and with a powerful swipe of its giant claw, it churned the entire concrete edge into a mess. The taut rope immediately went limp, like a bone had been removed, falling softly, but only making a faint sound.

The clever female Agent was no longer on the rope; like a Shadow in the darkness, she had vanished into the endless night.

The monster stared intently into the deep night.

He hesitated for a moment, then finally gave up his retaliatory actions. Instinct repeatedly surged through his mind, making him once again turn his gaze in the direction Natasha and the others had fled.

That girl was the most important thing to him. The instinct of the virus drove him, making him want to obtain her at all costs.

So, he let out a long howl, his massive body leaping across the balconies, rushing towards Natasha's direction.

And after he left, a valiant short-haired woman quietly peeked out from a corner.

"William Birkin actually turned into this kind of monster. What a deadly change. It's probably better to give up on this mission after all."

Although she complained like this, she still followed behind the monster that William Birkin had become. Giving up halfway was not her habit, especially when the reward was generous.

Natasha was still running for her life, the monster's howls growing closer behind her. This meant Dr. William could sense their location and was tracking them.

Now, she not only had to worry about the huge threat from behind but also had to painstakingly avoid the hordes of zombies in front of her. For Natasha, this was already beyond her extreme capabilities.

As an elite Agent, she was confident in confronting her counterparts in any country in the World and stealing all kinds of secrets. But dealing with this kind of monster was enough to make her feel powerless.

She was still human after all, not some Superhero. Perhaps among humans, her skills were already among the top tier. But to fight against monsters, she didn't have that much confidence. She didn't think concrete or anything else would be weaker than her body.

So, at this moment, she decisively resorted to her last option.

"Zhou Yi, I need your help, immediately, right now!" Important content must be repeated three times, even with different nouns, which fully demonstrated how urgent her current situation was.

And very quickly, Zhou Yi's response came through her earpiece.

"Where's your location? I'm coming right away."

"North of the Central Hospital. I'm being hunted by a monster. Hurry, I can't hold on much longer."

No sooner had she spoken than the wind whistled past her ear. Natasha, holding the Child, instinctively crouched low as a huge dark Shadow leaped over her head.

It was a battered car, alight with flames. It tumbled and landed in front of Natasha, then some part of it, ignited by a spark, exploded with a bang. The surging flames instantly engulfed everything around, naturally blocking Natasha's path.

Natasha immediately turned back, looking for another route, only to see the monster that had been pursuing her now walking step by step out of the darkness towards her. A few oblivious zombies, driven by instinct, lunged at it, but were torn into ragged corpses with a single swing of its massive arm.

And it didn't even glance at these creatures, which were barely its kind. Its recovered large eyes stared intently at Natasha and the Child in her arms, putting immense pressure on her.

Natasha retreated step by step, while the monster Advanced step by step. Soon, she had nowhere left to go. All she could do now was pray, pray that Zhou Yi could arrive immediately.
