A rumbling sound continuously came from beneath his feet; it was the sound of Mutants and Soldiers clashing.
Facing the gate secretly opened by Wanda and her brother, the Mutants launched a nearly frantic and fierce assault.
Under their bizarre abilities, General Stryker's army was retreating steadily.
They had to use high-powered weapons to delay the Mutant's advance.
However, on the Mutant's side, there was a King of Magnetism.
Before him, whether it was flying shrapnel or concentrated bullets, they were as docile as harmless kittens.
The Soldiers' weapons could not inflict any harm on the Mutants.
Watching the Mutants charge into the Base like a hot knife through butter, with the Soldiers blocking their path falling like mown barley, someone finally fearfully dropped their weapon and took a step back.
But before that step went far, a bullet pierced his skull.
A dense formation of Soldiers, escorting Stryker's adjutant, appeared behind the Soldiers.
Facing the Soldiers who were too timid to fire, the adjutant frowned and waved his hand.
At his signal, the figures around him immediately pushed aside the congested Soldiers and advanced towards the charging Mutants.
Leading the charge was a burly bald man; the moment he rushed out of the Soldier's ranks, his physique began to swell, and granite-like patterns appeared on his body, piling up layer by layer.
By the time he had run less than thirty yards, his entire body had transformed into a giant humanoid stone.
His ten-foot tall stature made every step he took in his run cause a massive tremor.
That represented his heavy tonnage.
What was most astonishing was his speed; his enormous body was not as clumsy as his appearance suggested, in fact, quite the opposite.
His momentum was astonishing; in just an instant, his massive body crashed into the center of the battlefield.
His massive body, carrying terrifying kinetic energy, landed on the ground like a cannonball.
The surging air currents even blew some people around him into the air.
The worst, however, was beneath his feet; an unlucky Mutant, unable to react to his rapid impact in time, was directly hit head-on.
Nearly ten thousand pounds of mass landed on him, and the pressure unleashed directly tore his body apart.
As a Mutant, his body was far stronger than that of an ordinary person, and as a mutated Mutant, he surpassed many of his kind.
But in the face of such an impact, he had no other outcome.
The ground was instantly covered in a dazzling red; what spread out like a carpet under the feet of that giant stone man was enough to make anyone lose their appetite.
This was the first Mutant Death since the war began, but definitely not the last.
The giant stone man continued to charge forward, swinging his arms, which were a full four feet thick, clearing everything in his path as if hitting a baseball.
Before him, the weaker Mutants didn't even have the right to stand.
But before his body had charged too far, a round object pounced on him.
It was a Mutant that looked somewhat deformed.
His entire body was fat and massive, and overall it presented a strange gelatinous appearance, making him look like a balloon filled with slime.
And, it was the most dangerous kind.
This could be seen from the nickname his companions gave him: Acid Ball.
The fat body crashed into the giant stone man, but it didn't bounce off as many had expected.
Instead, it instantly lost its physical constraints like a sticky glue, wrapping itself around the giant stone man.
The stone man shook his body vigorously, but it had no effect on the gelatinous liquid on him.
The yellowish-green liquid, upon contact with the stone man's body, immediately emitted a choking smoke, followed by continuously oozing pus with disgusting yellow foam.
That was the liquid produced by high-strength acid corroding the stone surface.
And the strength of this corrosive power, and its speed, almost exceeded everyone's imagination.
The giant stone man's body was visibly eroded at a speed visible to the naked eye.
His head, engulfed in the acid, let out a painful and low scream, but soon this heavy bass completely disappeared into the puddle of yellowish-green liquid on the ground.
Leaving nothing of his massive body.
After eliminating his compatriot, the liquid began to retract little by little, gradually forming the outline of a person.
His face still carried the joy of victory.
However, at this very moment, a dazzling beam of light tore through the battlefield and fell upon the recent victor.
The intense beam of light possessed almost terrifying destructive power; a high-intensity particle stream could almost pulverize all obstacles.
And when its Master was unrestrained, this destructive power became even stronger and more terrifying.
Acid Ball's expression was frozen at his moment of victory, and then, under the impact of this beam of light, his liquid body was completely reduced to ashes, turning into nothingness.
Seeing this terrifying beam of light, many people's expressions changed.
But among them, the most incredulous were a group from the Academy.
Ororo covered her mouth, and Beast nearly crushed his fists.
But this could not change the fact.
Cyclops Scott Summers had become a weapon under the control of the opposing side.
The battle between Mutants also became more brutal and frenzied with the intervention of Charles's beloved disciple.
Beast directly pounced on Cyclops; his agile speed allowed him to avoid Cyclops's laser attack the moment Scott looked at him, but on this complex battlefield, it was not an easy task for him to get close to the long-range Cyclops.
And Storm also flew up, and strong winds and blizzards immediately surged through this Base.
Ultra-low temperature cold air currents blew over everyone, taking away their precious body heat.
For Mutants, this temperature was tolerable, but for humans, this temperature was slowly taking their lives.
As one of the few Mutants capable of controlling the weather, Ororo's ability was enough to change the nature of a battlefield.
On this battlefield, more evolved Mutants clearly had an advantage, and humans couldn't even participate in the war.
This was a war between Mutants and Mutants, and in this battle that determined the fate of Mutant's survival, the identities of the warring parties were simply ridiculous and tragic.
Every Mutant who still possessed self-awareness and reason felt an unspeakable sorrow, but towards their opponents, they could not hold back any strength.
This was a moment that decided the survival of their race, just as Magneto had said.
Everyone had to be prepared for sacrifice.
The slaughter continued, but Magneto focused his attention on the humans who had begun to retreat.
The adjutant, who bore Stryker's mission, was his target.
He restrained Quicksilver, who was eager to move beside him, and spoke to the siblings.
"Don't mind this place, our objective is inside."
Quicksilver glanced in the direction he indicated, gave an understanding salute.
Then he pulled Magneto and Scarlet Witch, transforming into a silver blur, and entered his time-stream movement.
And shortly after Quicksilver and the others disappeared, Zhou Yi's figure appeared there.
He first scanned Ororo and the others who were still fighting, then turned his gaze to the direction Magneto and his group had left.
After a moment of hesitation, he took a step in the direction Magneto had left.
"Little man, can you help me out?" Just as he made a move, a voice called out to him.
Hearing this voice, Zhou Yi turned his head and looked at Mystique who was walking towards him, tilting his head slightly.
"Can you take me with you?" As if seeing Zhou Yi's confusion, Raven immediately explained.
"Don't you want to help your companions? It looks like they're in a tough fight!" She pointed in the direction of the battlefield, where Mutants from both sides were locked in a fierce struggle, making it hard to tell which side had a greater advantage.
"My battlefield isn't here, lovely little man!" Mystique was as enchanting as ever in front of Zhou Yi.
"I think you should also know that my ability won't be of much use here.
Only inside can I play a greater role."
Mystique was a shapeshifting enchantress, the best infiltrator in the World, a true Great Master of espionage.
Perhaps in terms of combat, she indeed couldn't play a big role.
But when she infiltrated enemy lines, the destruction she caused could sometimes be even more terrifying than those Mutants with powerful combat abilities.
This was something Zhou Yi had to admit.
So he was silent for a moment, then picked up this enchantress and pursued in the direction Magneto had left.
In the chaotic battlefield, perhaps no one would notice the disappearance of these few people.
They all had their own enemies, and almost everyone's attention was focused on the life-or-Death battle before them; in such circumstances, they couldn't afford to pay attention to anything else.
But there were always exceptions; Wolverine Logan's attention had never been on this place.
Possessing an immortal body, he was extremely nonchalant about the battle at hand.
An indescribable spiritual tremor always kept him in a state of distraction.
Although this did not affect his fighting, it instinctively made him feel that something was wrong.
He subconsciously looked around, and although he saw unfamiliar sights, an inexplicable sense of familiarity surged into his heart.
He knew this was the feeling brought by his lost memories, and this feeling made his heart stir.
Until he saw Magneto and Zhou Yi leave, almost instinctively, he forced away his current opponents, made a few leaps and rolls, and kept a safe distance from the chaotic battlefield.
Then he arrived at the place where Magneto and his group had left, following their scent.
He felt that he had to follow these people.
He felt the call of his lost memories.
He had a feeling that perhaps all his answers could be found here, and all his past would find its end here.
