Chapter 105 - Chapter 105: The Anchor and the Sun's Grace

Deadpool's mischief wasn't entirely useless. At the very least, Beast Hank had to stay behind to repair the blackbird plane because Deadpool had chopped it up so badly.

They still needed to go near Washington to find the Mutant who attacked the President, and they couldn't do it without transportation.

Thus, Zhou Yi had some alone time with Jean Grey.

As Zhou Yi walked towards Jean Grey's location, he always felt an inexplicable pang in his heart.

This pang made him involuntarily shift his gaze to Ororo, who was sleeping.

Ororo's sleeping figure didn't alleviate the strange feeling in his heart; instead, it fueled a sense of guilt.

For a woman to remain silent after knowing her beloved had been unfaithful, only mentioning it briefly, there could only be two possibilities: either her love was profound, or she no longer loved him.

Ororo's willingness to sacrifice her life for him had already proven the depth of her love.

However, in the same love, Zhou Yi couldn't give himself entirely as she did.

He habitually divided his love into many parts, and at first, he thought he would reap the sweetest one.

But when all the loves sprouted and grew, turning into beautiful fruits, he found himself completely unable to choose.

He couldn't abandon other fruits for the sake of one; that would be a heavy blow to him and to those who were abandoned.

Moreover, the greed from deep within his heart made it even harder for him to let go.

Morality and conscience were utterly defeated in the face of this greed, yet they always pricked at his heart from time to time.

This constant prodding always gave him an urge to bear all the sins himself.

If doing so could prevent those he loved from sorrow, he would do it.

But unfortunately, it couldn't achieve such an effect.

Should I regret loving too much? With this question and sense of guilt, Zhou Yi arrived at Jean Grey's door.

Taking a deep breath, he gently knocked on the door.

"Jean, it's me. May I come in?"

A hurried rustling came from behind the door, and soon, the door opened.

Jean Grey, dressed in black with a slightly pale face, stood behind it.

She looked at Zhou Yi standing outside the door, a pleasantly surprised smile appearing on her face.

"Yi, you're finally awake?"

Seeing the slight flush on her pale face, Zhou Yi was slightly startled.

He quickly went up and supported Jean's shoulders, and just as he expected, Jean's body had become very slender.

That frail feeling was no different from someone recovering from a long illness.

"Jean, you're sick. No, Mutants don't get sick. You're hurt, what happened? Who did it?" His words were urgent and short, exposing his inner tension completely.

Feeling his concern, Jean Grey's face broke into a bright smile.

She pressed his large hand on her shoulder and pulled him into the room.

"Don't worry, Yi. My body is fine, I just overused my Mental Energy.

I've been recuperating these past few days, and my body is much better now.

Sorry, I couldn't stay by your side all the time.

You know, with Ororo around, I couldn't be too obvious."

Jean Grey spoke her heart out as much as possible in front of Zhou Yi.

Ever since Dark Phoenix broke free from its cage last time, she found her will becoming increasingly weak.

Her remaining slight distance from Zhou Yi began to shrink, and at the same time, Zhou Yi's position in her heart became increasingly important.

During the days when Scott and Professor were missing, she found that she hadn't thought of him even once in her dreams.

Instead, she had been constantly worried about the sleeping Zhou Yi.

If Ororo hadn't been in the way, she would have truly wanted to stay by his side, waiting for him to wake up.

To some extent, this was due to her inner personality affecting her own.

However, it also indicated that they had begun to fuse.

Jean Grey had accepted the entity within her body.

Although only in certain aspects, it also meant a new beginning.

"You don't look like you're fine, Jean.

Let me see, okay?" A scorching warmth passed from his palm to her body, instantly filling Jean Grey's heart with warmth.

Facing Zhou Yi, she found it increasingly difficult to say no.

So, she simply nodded obediently.

Jean Grey's room was as Zhou Yi imagined: simple and elegant.

A massive bookshelf was the most prominent furniture in the entire room, and the shelves full of books filled the entire space with the scent of paper.

Next, like all other women, the wardrobe occupied the second position.

There's a saying that a woman's wardrobe is always missing one dress; in other words, a woman will never think her wardrobe is too small.

Jean Grey also had a sufficiently large wardrobe.

As for how many clothes were inside, Zhou Yi had no inclination to investigate.

Compared to these two, the bed occupied a less conspicuous position in the room.

Near the window, a simple single bed with a clean white mattress was placed there.

Faint sunlight shone on it, making some black personal items wrapped in the quilt particularly eye-catching.

Jean Grey evidently noticed these as well; she quickly broke free from Zhou Yi's hand, rushed over, and pulled the quilt to thoroughly cover the items underneath.

After doing all this, she cautiously turned back and asked, "Tell me, you didn't see what was underneath, did you?"

"I swear I didn't see anything!" Raising his finger, Zhou Yi once again spoke against his true feelings.

But women liked to hear this, and Jean's face immediately showed a look of relief.

However, she remained cautious; to prevent further inquiry, she sat directly on the quilt, using her weight to press it down tightly.

At the same time, she said very naturally, "Please sit anywhere; as you can see, my place is so simple there's hardly room for more people."

"It's enough for the two of us to stand, isn't it?" Zhou Yi smiled and sat directly beside her, taking her hand.

"Don't overthink it; let me see if I can make you feel better."

As he spoke, golden streaks of light emanated from his body.

These streaks of light, like golden leaves falling, danced in this small room.

Almost instantly, they bathed the entire room in a translucent golden hue.

Looking at this scene, a deep curiosity flowed in Jean Grey's eyes.

She reached out a hand and gently touched one of the golden leaves near her.

Upon contact, the golden leaf instantly dissolved into countless tiny golden particles, which swarmed into her body through her fingers.

An indescribable sense of satisfaction emanated from within her body.

She felt her body recovering rapidly; both old injuries accumulated in battle and depleted physical strength began to disappear.

Her body was transforming into its best state, and very quickly, she reached a state of complete health.

"What is this?" Feeling the changes in her body, Jean Grey couldn't help but ask.

Such power was simply miraculous, like the radiance of heaven, possessing the power to dispel all suffering.

One could imagine that if this power appeared in devout believers, the church might well define them as new saints.

But she knew that the man before her was a complete non-believer.

In his heart, she was more practical than any so-called God.

"This is a new ability I've just Awakened.

I call it Sun's Grace.

It can convert the energy stored in my body into powerful life force that can be infused into others, thereby restoring their bodies to their healthiest state.

It's a bit of a shame that this power is far less useful to myself than it is to others."

Just as Lady Death said, when he was resurrected, his fundamental essence of life had undergone a tremendous change.

He was no longer a man, but a God, an Eternal star.

And as a God, he gained the authority of the greatest star, the Sun.

This power was one of the authorities he had gained.

The Sun is the father of all growth; it uses its light to make all things grow, keeping darkness, cold, and sickness away from the lives under its radiance.

And this authority represented this power of the Sun; it could dispel all negative forces, allowing life to return to its healthiest state.

Any life accepted by the Sun could achieve this.

"Sun's Grace, that sounds like a magic name.

Are you a high priest of ancient Egypt, the human spokesperson for the Sun God Ra?" Hearing the name Zhou Yi had given, Jean couldn't help but laugh.

She immediately thought of Egyptian mythology and the highly respected priests of the Sun God Ra recorded in ancient texts.

With Zhou Yi's ability, he would probably have become a true high priest in that era.

"I am the Sun God; do I need someone else to speak for me?" Zhou Yi said with a slight curl of his lips, half-jokingly.

And just as he expected, Jean Grey immediately gave him a light pat.

"Oh, come on.

If you were the Sun God, at the very least, you'd need a white steed burning with Fire pulling a giant golden chariot to count."

Heaven knows where this standard came from.

A golden chariot was one thing, but where would one find a white steed burning with Fire?

So for a moment, Zhou Yi could only stare, looking speechless.

He had become a God in a daze, completely unaware of how it happened.

Let alone having much understanding of those mythical creatures.

Seeing Zhou Yi speechless, Jean Grey's face showed a triumphant smile.

Opportunities to make him look like that were rare.

However, she couldn't bear to embarrass Zhou Yi too much, so she immediately came to his rescue.

"Alright, I'll let you off this time.

If there's a next time, it'll have to be according to my standards.

Also, I forgot to ask.

Why did you come to find me? Aren't you afraid Ororo will find out?"

"I told Ororo to go rest.

Her Mental Energy has been too strained lately; she needs a good rest to relax." Zhou Yi shrugged, first saying what was easy to explain.

"I'm sorry, my fault." When Ororo was mentioned, Jean's expression dimmed a few shades.

"My Mental Energy state is very unstable, and sometimes sudden outbursts can harm the students.

So, I could only watch her shoulder everything alone."

"It's not your fault, Jean.

Everything will be alright." Gently comforting her, Zhou Yi stated his purpose.

"I will help you solve the current difficulties, and I've already found a Breakthrough.

Perhaps very soon, we'll be able to rescue Professor."

"Rescue? You mean something happened to Professor?" Sharply discerning the problem from Zhou Yi's words, Jean Grey exclaimed in surprise.

She had always thought Professor had simply had an important matter arise and had to leave the school, never considering the possibility that Professor had been attacked.

Professor Charles's immense power had been deeply etched into her mind; she couldn't fathom such a powerful person being attacked and taken away.

This completely exceeded the limits of her imagination.

And when she learned all this, worry immediately flooded her heart.

To her, Professor Charles played the role of a teacher, even a father.

Their bond was deep, just like true family.

How could she not worry when her family was in trouble?

"Yi, where is Professor? What happened to him?"

"Don't worry, Jean.

Professor should be fine now.

I came to you because I want to use your power to find that clue.

I promise, we will rescue Professor." Holding Jean Grey's hand, Zhou Yi solemnly pledged.
