In 2014, Steve Rogers and his team would destroy HYDRA and forcibly "disband" S.H.I.E.L.D.
Nick kept this secret from Hill—but Wanda hid nothing from Linen.
At the end of February, inside Linen's apartment.
"Oh my God, dear—come here!"
Hearing Wanda's surprised voice from the bathroom, Linen put down the teacup in his hand and walked over.
Wrapped in a bath towel, Wanda looked at Linen with joy and said excitedly, "Look, dear!"
As she spoke, a trace of crimson magic flickered between her fingers.
"Oh my God! I just discovered this while I was taking a shower. This feeling… it's incredible!"
Seeing Wanda's delighted expression, Linen was also slightly surprised.
He reached out and gently held her hand, carefully sensing the crimson energy emerging from her palm.
Linen guessed that this was most likely related to the Ego Gem.
After all, Wanda had been sleeping in the same bed as him for the past six months. The Ego Gem may have stimulated the Chaos Magic she already possessed.
Much like the Mind Gem.
It was just that Wanda's magic was still very weak. She had yet to fully master it and had not truly stepped into the realm of Chaos Magic.
Of course, this was only Linen's speculation.
But considering that Pietro still hadn't gained super speed, his guess was probably close to the truth.
Looking at Wanda's excited face, Linen first used a towel to gently dry her dripping hair.
After Wanda got dressed, Linen asked her to try controlling this newfound power.
Since the ability had just awakened, Wanda struggled to control it at first.
However, Linen had experience using magic himself, so he patiently practiced with her.
A week later, at the Avengers compound.
Watching Wanda skillfully use scarlet magic to shatter building blocks and then reassemble them—
The Avengers present… well, only Dr. Banner was truly surprised. After all, he was the only one who didn't yet possess a spoiler system.
As for Clint Barton, he wasn't at the base at the moment.
"Linen, how did Wanda gain her magic?"
While watching Wanda manipulate the scarlet energy, Natasha handed some sliced fruit to Linen and asked curiously.
"It's not entirely clear yet," Linen replied. "But my guess is that Wanda already had this ability—she was just missing the trigger."
"It may be because she's been with me for so long that her powers were accidentally activated."
As he spoke, Linen deliberately and "unconsciously" touched the necklace around his neck.
Seeing this, all the Avengers present immediately thought of the necklace containing the Ego Gem—the one Nemesis had given Linen in the theater.
After hearing Linen's explanation, Steve Rogers suddenly spoke up.
"Linen, according to what you said—if Wanda already had this ability and was only lacking a trigger…"
"Then as her twin brother, wouldn't Pietro also have extraordinary abilities that simply haven't awakened yet?"
As soon as Steve finished speaking, Pietro immediately turned to look at Linen, curiosity written all over his face.
They had all seen Pietro's super speed in the theater, so they already knew he possessed special abilities.
Perhaps the only people who didn't know were Linen, Dr. Banner, and Pietro himself.
"It's possible," Linen said.
Facing Pietro's expectant gaze, Linen pretended to think for a few seconds before nodding.
"Honey, are you saying Pietro might also have superpowers?"
Wanda immediately stepped forward, holding Linen's arm tightly.
"Then what do we need to do to awaken Pietro's abilities?"
Before Linen could answer, Tony Stark suddenly put down his coffee cup.
"Hey, maybe I also have superpowers—they just haven't been activated yet."
"Linen, how did you accidentally awaken Wanda's abilities? Want to try it on me?"
Looking at Tony's face, Linen silently pushed him aside.
How did he awaken Wanda's powers?
Was he supposed to say it was because they slept together every night?
When Linen imagined sleeping with a grown man in his arms, he felt it would be better to let Thanos snap his fingers and wipe out half the universe.
"Tsk, stingy!"
Tony rolled his eyes and picked up his coffee again.
"I just want to see if I have superpowers too."
Ignoring Tony's muttering, Linen turned to Pietro.
"Pietro, you and Wanda share the same parents. In theory, if Wanda has superpowers, you should too."
"So I can try to help awaken them. Of course, this is only a hypothesis."
"That's fine," Pietro shrugged.
"Even if I don't get powers, Wanda being able to protect herself is already enough."
Seeing Pietro's calm attitude, Linen nodded and then turned to Natasha.
He didn't say anything—but Natasha immediately understood.
"I'll prepare the training room and medical room. If anything goes wrong, we'll be ready."
Watching Natasha leave quickly, Tony asked curiously,
"You and Natasha have great chemistry, man. Do you know how rare that is?"
"So far, I've only seen one other person like that—Clint Barton. Even Steve doesn't have that level of tacit understanding with her."
Tony's words were clearly meant as provocation—revenge for being pushed earlier.
Wanda laughed, then clung even tighter to Linen's arm, clearly telling Tony that his attempt had failed.
"Tsk!"
Seeing that his provocation didn't work, Tony rubbed his nose.
"Isn't it just a relationship? It's not like no one else has one. My relationship with Pepper is even better!"
"Oh right—I forgot. There are three poor guys here without girlfriends. Tsk tsk…"
Facing Tony Stark's indiscriminate attack—
Dr. Banner pressed his lips together and said nothing. Pietro was too excited about the possibility of gaining powers to care.
As for Steve Rogers, he could only look up at the ceiling in silence.
As expected of Howard Stark's son.
That sharp tongue and poisonous teasing were clearly inherited perfectly.
More than ten minutes later, the training room was sealed.
Looking at the thick cushions covering the floor—and even the walls—Linen raised an eyebrow.
Sure enough, Natasha had been thorough.
Knowing that everyone had seen Pietro's super speed in the theater, she had prepared professional anti-collision measures in advance.
