Chapter 72 - Chapter 71: Muzan: ‘I Can Be a Girl!’

The memory copy of Demon Slayer wasn't long, but it was enough.

Jaeger lazily pushed Stussy's leg aside, expression relaxed as he stared at the screen.

The footage was shockingly vivid—far more detailed and brutal than the anime he remembered from his previous life.

The despair… the blood… the silent sacrifices…

Everything felt heavier now that he understood the Demon Slayer Corps as living, breathing people rather than fiction.

And Muzan?

He was even worse than Jaeger remembered—

vile, cowardly, arrogant without power to match, a parasite dressed as a king.

Naturally, the entire chat group gathered to watch.

Within minutes, every member had a complete understanding of the Corps…

and the demons who fed on them.

[ Chat Group ]

Esdeath: "Disgusting. That low-grade demon calls himself a king? He's just a cockroach with a millennium-long lifespan."

Luo Hao: "Hmph. I expected a thousand-year-old being to be a formidable opponent. But he's just a timid brat who hides behind his minions. Even a pig trained for 1,000 years would possess more dignity!"

Erina Nakiri: "He eats humans. That alone disqualifies him as anything but filth."

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "I've never seen a villain whose face ruins my appetite. Amazing. In the worst way."

Jibril: "Muzan, your arrogance is almost adorable. Do you truly believe you could survive even one spell from me?"

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Jaeger, you must kill him. Immediately. Before he infects the chat group with his mediocrity."

Sakura Tohsaka: "The Demon Slayers… their fate was so tragic… Especially Shinobu…"

Saitama: "So he eats people? Gross. Didn't expect that."

Saitama: "Okay. If I ever step into your world, I'll punch you so hard your cells forget they were cells."

Shinobu Kocho: "Thank you… truly… All of you… You're all such good people."

In her world, Shinobu's eyes trembled, moisture gathering at the edges.

The Demon Slayer Corps fought in silence.

Alone.

Hopeless.

Desperate.

Yet now—

The strongest beings across countless universes…

were on her side.

For the first time in a long while, her heart felt warm.

Meanwhile, Muzan Kibutsuji was on the verge of collapsing.

The so-called Demon King trembled like a scared rat.

Every cell screamed at him to run—

leave Japan, abandon his empire, flee the world entirely!

With his stolen Zanpakutō and regenerative abilities, he could hide somewhere else on Earth…

But would that even help?

Against these monsters?

[Chat Group]

Uchiha Miyuki: "Kocho-chan! Don't hesitate—post the mission already!"

Shinobu Kocho: "Understood!"

A notification exploded across the screen.

[Group Member: Shinobu Kocho]

has posted a mission:

[Kill Muzan]

"Damn it!"

The group notification struck Muzan harder than any Nichirin blade.

He snapped his head toward the chat window, fingers trembling as he typed in a panic.

Muzan: "F-Fine! I might not be a good person—but I'm a man of my word!"

Muzan: "I can grant eternal life! Immortality! Power that transcends your limits!"

Muzan: "Think carefully! I can give you far more than that pathetic Demon Slayer Corps ever could!"

Then—grasping for survival—

Muzan slammed out a mission of his own.

[Group member Muzan has posted a conflicting mission: "Destroy the Demon Slayer Corps."]

[Two missions with opposing objectives detected. A group vote is required.]

[Because both missions involve the lives of group members, protection for group members is temporarily suspended.]

A chill swept the chat.

Miyuki Uchiha: "A vote, huh?"

Esdeath: "Tch. Pointless. Strength decides everything—not numbers."

Luo Hao: "True. But this time, I'll humor the ritual."

Miyuki Uchiha: "We're comrades! Sisters-in-arms on the path to strength! A fair vote is only proper!"

Shinobu Kocho: "Please… everyone… I'm placing my trust in you."

Muzan: "I offer immortality! Don't be fools! Choose wisely!!"

Voting Begins

Yamamoto Mei: "I vote for Shinobu! I hated Muzan in the anime. Seeing him live? Even worse."

Muzan: "...…"

Miyuki Uchiha: "Same here! Shinobu-chan, if my vote helps you win… will you let me kiss you?"

Shinobu Kocho: "E-Eh?! I-I'm grateful, but… we're both girls…"

Miyuki Uchiha: "Love. Is. Love."

Erina Nakiri: "My vote goes to Shinobu. Cannibals aren't welcome in any world."

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Absolutely. Just looking at him made my stomach twist. Shinobu."

Esdeath: "Count me in. That fake demon is all bark and zero bite."

Luo Hao: "Those who insult god-slayers deserve annihilation. Shinobu receives my vote."

Saitama: "Weirdos get punched. I vote for Miss Shinobu."

Jibril: "Muzan is a kindergarten-level predator pretending to be a king. I vote Shinobu."

Sakura Tohsaka: "Sakura's voting too! Those demons are awful! Shinobu-san, you have my support!"

Then all eyes turned toward the top of the chat.

Sakura Tohsaka: "Jaeger-nii… you'll vote too, right?"

--

Back in the Demon Slayer world, Shinobu tightened her trembling hands, eyes fixed on a single name in the chat window:

Nerona Jaeger.

A reincarnator from the Pirate World.

A Celestial Dragon.

A man whose strength and ambition eclipsed entire nations.

Among all members of the Multiverse Chat Group—

he was one of the few whose decision could tilt an entire world's fate.

And right now…

Muzan was offering immortality like it was a discount voucher.

Shinobu bit her lip hard.

If Muzan's control curse didn't exist…

If he weren't a walking plague…

Immortality would be tempting. Seductive, even.

If Jaeger wavered…

If he took Muzan's side…

Would the others follow?

Would the mission collapse?

Her heart pounded so loudly she could hear it.

Then—

A message from Jaeger appeared.

Nerona Jaeger: "Like I said: I like beautiful women. I hate ugly things."

The chat froze.

Muzan immediately pounced.

Muzan: "I—I can be beautiful! Any form you want! I can change genders, appearances, shapes—whatever you desire!"

Muzan: "And immortality! I'll give you eternal life! Just say the word, Jaeger!"

It was desperation.

It was pathetic.

It was Muzan on his metaphoric knees.

Miyuki Uchiha: "...Gross."

Esdeath: "Hah. A man in drag trying to seduce Jaeger. How pitiful."

Yamamoto Mei: "I almost feel bad for him. Almost."

Jaeger stared blankly at Muzan's messages, eyes filled with pure distaste.

Then...

Nerona Jaeger: "Die."

[Vote Concluded]

Majority supports Shinobu Kocho.

Muzan's mission has been rejected.

[Mission Participants Selected Randomly…]

Congratulations to:

Nerona Jaeger

Jibril

Kasumigaoka Utaha

You have 3 hours to prepare before automatic transport.

Saitama: "Aw, too bad. I wanted to fight Jaeger. That would've been fun."

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Well… time to test my power in the real world. Should be interesting."

Jibril:"Finally! Although…"

Jibril: "The Demon Slayer world looks weak. The demons seem like toys."

Esdeath: "Toys or not, aren't you excited? You wanted to challenge Jaeger, no?"

Jibril:"...True. Very true. This may be quite enjoyable after all."

No Game No Life World

Jibril frowned the moment she joined the chat group, resisting the very real urge to slap herself twice.

She lived for battle.

For slaughter.

For the thrill of hunting enemies and proudly collecting their severed heads.

But she also hated losing.

And during her time in the group, she'd roughly pieced together the truth:

Jaeger was not someone she could beat.

Oh, she could dodge his flashy attacks—

like Star-Shattering Thunder—

with her spatial magic.

But that was just the surface.

The real problem?

The "nonsense" stacked behind him.

God Avoid — divine retribution that automatically smites his enemies.

Belt of Hercules — monstrous strength and speed.

Eye of Horus — flight and complete immunity to all ranged attacks.

Mystic Eyes of Death — wounds that never heal, damage that no concept could undo.

Yeah.

No matter how she looked at it, fighting Jaeger head-on was suicide.

"Tch… What the hell kind of cheat setup is that?" Jibril muttered, clicking her tongue.

She wasn't afraid.

She was Jibril — apex predator of the Flugel, born to kill gods.

But even she had to admit:

She wasn't winning a straight fight against him.

Still, that didn't mean she was without options.

A sly grin curled across her flawless face.

"But… I don't necessarily have to lose," she murmured.

"After all, I still have my trump card—senzu beans."

The senzu bean.

A single bite restored her completely—energy, injuries, stamina, everything.

In other words:

Hundreds of lives in one tiny bean.

"I wonder…"

"Can it heal wounds inflicted by the Mystic Eyes of Death?"

If it could—she'd become effectively unkillable.

If it couldn't—she'd die.

Again and again.

She shrugged.

Either way, it sounded fun.

Meanwhile, Muzan was still groveling.

Muzan: "Please! Don't kill me! I'll give you anything! Immortality! Power! I'll even leave Japan forever—just let me live!"

No one responded.

Everyone was tired of him—his slime-like groveling, his cruelty, his pathetic cowardice.

To the chat group, Muzan was no longer a villain.

Just a corpse waiting for gravity to finish the job.

[Chat Group]

Jibril: "I'm ready."

Jibril: "Saint Jaeger, once you're done taking out that garbage Muzan, how about a little sparring match?"

Jaeger: "I've always wanted to test the might of a Flugel—the god-slayer race. I could use a warm-up… maybe prep some mushrooms for stew."

Jibril: "Wait—mushrooms?! Are you implying I'm the mushroom!?"

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "I'm ready as well."

[All mission members ready. Dimensional transfer commencing.]

Back in the real world, a woman stirred in bed.

"Hmm…? Where did Saint Jaeger go again?"

Stussy blinked sleepily, reaching toward the empty warmth beside her.

Her fingers brushed cool sheets instead.

She sat up, a faint frown forming — the kind that came from instinct rather than reason.

Could it be…

he didn't think she was enough anymore?

Was he off chasing Rouge now — the pregnant woman?

A chill of resentment curled through Stussy's chest.

That would explain it.

Jaeger never used to leave in the middle of the night like this…

She exhaled slowly, but the unease didn't fade.

For Jaeger and the others, crossing dimensions had become routine.

A flash of golden light.

A shift in gravity.

Silence.

When Jaeger opened his eyes, he stood inside a traditional Japanese tatami room.

Beside him were two familiar figures:

Kasumigaoka Utaha — calm, elegant, unshaken by the dimensional shift.

Jibril — wings shimmering faintly, violet eyes gleaming with anticipation.

Utaha had done this before.

Jibril had not and everything here fascinated her.

She scanned the room, taking in every detail…

until her gaze reached Jaeger.

And she smiled — bright, eager, almost hungry.

On the opposite side of the room stood the remnants of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki, frail and pale as death itself, flanked by his four daughters.

Behind them, the nine Hashira — pillars of humanity's last resistance — including the Insect Pillar, Shinobu Kocho, whose breath caught the moment she saw Jaeger.

The sudden appearance of three beings materializing from nothing…

sent a wave of emotion tearing through the room.

Hope.

Fear.

Awe.

These were warriors who'd lost everything —

parents, siblings, lovers, limbs —

all eaten or destroyed by Muzan.

And now…

three beings who claimed they could end the nightmare had arrived before their eyes.

Kagaya stepped forward, composed despite his fragile body.

"Celestial Dragon from another world…"

"I am Kagaya Ubuyashiki, leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. These are my daughters."

His tone was respectful... carefully measured, aware of Jaeger's nature.

After a pause, he asked the only question that mattered:

"I hope I'm not being rude… but can you really kill Muzan Kibutsuji?"

Jaeger smiled — not arrogantly, but with a quiet certainty that froze the room.

"Of course."

Kagaya's fingers trembled as he clenched them.

"And… do you know where he is?"

Jaeger shrugged lightly.

"No idea."

Kagaya's expression fell — despair flickering in his eyes...until Jaeger added:

"But that's not a problem."

"…What do you mean?"

Jaeger chuckled softly and turned toward the distant horizon, as if addressing the entire world itself.

"I don't need to find Muzan."

T/N: I planned to rest…

then New Year hit and my conscience said "nah."

So yeah, I posted. Thank me later.

Happy New Year—and may your year be better than mine, spent celebrating with my fellow single comrades.

We survive. 💀🎆
