Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: The Eight Autobot Warriors

Chapter 94: The Eight Autobot Warriors

"The intruders must die!"

An ancient mechanical warrior advanced its movements stiff and slow, but its aura overwhelmingly dominant. The grinding scrape of corroded joints proved how long it had stood guard… and how powerful it once was. And yet, bound to ancient commands implanted ages ago, even if reduced to a single functioning limb, these guardians would treat any outsider as an enemy.

"You're all old and outdated why bother doing this nonsense?"

Starscream was unimpressed. To him, these warriors were nothing more than rusty scrap. Without hesitation, he raised his laser pistol and fired at the closest one's head.

He fully expected the target already halfway to collapsing to drop instantly, becoming yet another pile of junk. But…

Starscream had underestimated them.

The Fallen hadn't infected these ancient knights with a virus and ordered them to defend this site for eternity just so they could become target practice. Though the colossal warrior couldn't dodge, he lifted a huge bronze sword, blocking Starscream's laser directly.

CLANG!

What… was that?

The bronze-looking weapon composed of some unknown alloy remained spotless after taking the full blast. Not a single mark.

It was clearly a super-resistant alloy one of the most effective weapons of these ancient mechanical knights!

"Hahaha! Starscream, how useless can you be? Are your fancy laser guns just worthless decoration? Let my flamethrower help you out!"

Thrilled to see Starscream fail, the pterosaur-cyborg unleashed his flamethrower. Flames roared forth hot enough to melt even the toughest metals turning the entire knight into a blazing inferno.

Without those mysterious bronze weapons, these ancient giants would be defenseless.

"Foolish intruders! Do you think we fear you? To protect the great Cybertron, we shall unleash our sacred fire!"

What? What were they talking about? Why did they think they were protecting Cybertron?

Right after that battle cry, another ancient warrior shield in hand charged forward and blocked the flames completely.

"You've got to be kidding me…"

Starscream's lasers were useless. The scorching flames did nothing.

Just what kind of weapons were these old robots wielding?

The remaining six warriors had joined the fight each bearing a different weapon, each radiating fierce combat presence. If not for their rusted joints slowing them down, their battle strength would have been even more terrifying.

"Starscream, oh memory master do you even know what these things are? I'm sure they're not Autobots! I've never seen senior citizens like these!"

Realizing the situation was worsening, Darts and Mud immediately flanked Starscream protectively. But three against eight… they were not in a favorable position unless they could break through their defenses.

"Autobots? What did you say? Do you know the Eight Autobot Warriors?

No, no! You are intruders filthy intruders! We will never let you set foot on Cybertron!"

The swordsman's brief clarity slipped away, replaced once more by rage so violent his speech turned incoherent.

Could these eight really be ancient Autobots?

Seeing how fiercely they defended the sealed chamber, there must be something extremely important behind that bronze gate.

"What a joke! These eight aren't Autobots they're just eight delusional mechanical guards! Do they seriously believe this lousy place is Cybertron? Are they trying to make me laugh to death?"

No Transformer database contained any record of them their age surpassed any documented Cybertronian history. Perhaps they truly were senile guarding a doorway in the middle of nowhere, convinced they still defended Cybertron itself.

"What nonsense, intruders?! We won't let you defile our robotic home!

You must be puppets sent by those vile Quintessons!

Look at your disgusting forms clearly, you are the enemy!"

The knight with the shield seemed equally convinced of his role as Cybertron's protector. Was this all just one massive misunderstanding?

But when the light in Starscream's optics shifted, projecting a hologram of a spherical planet…

The eight ancient warriors froze silent, staring.

Yes Cybertron.

The dying world Starscream once called home.

Even Sludge and Darts, away from Cybertron for so long, gazed at the hologram with growing longing.

Starscream didn't show them this for fun.

He wanted to see the reaction of these ancient warriors.

If they truly were Cybertronian ancestors…

then no matter how worn their memories were…

they should still recognize their home.
