Chapter 242 - Chapter 242: None Shall Remain

The Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast was dead.

Its skull had been obliterated by a single punch from the Earth Demon Puppet, leaving not even the faintest trace of life behind.

In the distance, the vast army of poisonous beasts that had gathered began to shudder. After a brief silence, chaos erupted—they fled in all directions, scattering faster than they had gathered, as if terror itself had seized their hearts.

On the other side, Zi Yan released her hand seal. The radiant Beast Soul hovering above her head shattered into countless violet motes of light, which flowed back into the crown of her head like a glittering stream.

The dense purple glow surrounded her petite form. As the crystalline radiance faded, the alluring, curvaceous silhouette she had briefly gained under the Body Transformation Grass shrank away, returning to her small, delicate figure.

Liu Xi descended beside her, wings of dazzling azure flame folding behind him—just in time to hear her indignant muttering.

"Damn it, that Transforming Grass wore off again! My waves are gone!"

He nearly laughed aloud. Her pretty face was pale, a sheen of fragrant sweat glistening on her smooth forehead, strands of violet hair clinging to her cheeks. Pouting, she looked both furious and adorable.

With a gentle wave, a jade bottle appeared in his hand. He offered it to her with a warm smile.

"This time, our victory over the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast was thanks in no small part to you, Zi Yan."

Zi Yan took the bottle and swallowed the pills inside without hesitation, grinning.

"Of course! I, Zi Yan, am no pushover!"

Liu Xi chuckled softly. He channeled his Dou Qi to his hand, brushing her damp bangs aside while the faint heat of his flame gently dried the sweat on her skin. Finally, he gave her cheek a light pinch.

"Rest here, Zi Yan. I'll be back soon."

With that, he turned and flew toward the other battlefield.

At the same time, the Earth Demon Puppet—its silver body still faintly steaming from the earlier battle—followed him through the air.

The poisonous beast army had completely disbanded without the beast's command. Only two Dou Zong-level poisonous beasts remained.

As the army scattered, the massive poison clouds they had spewed began to disperse. The Poison Qi vortex created by Xiao Yixian slowly stilled, her control no longer needed.

She opened her mouth and inhaled lightly.

In an instant, the poisonous miasma around her surged like a tidal wave being drawn into the sea, vanishing into her body.

Elsewhere, two human-like figures—one fat, one thin—had been battling Yao Tianhuo. The moment the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast died, both sensed it. When they finally saw its enormous, headless corpse lying on the ground, their expressions twisted in shock.

They could hardly believe what they saw. As subordinates of the beast, they knew its power better than anyone.

Even in the treacherous Fallen God Ravine, it had been one of the most terrifying overlords. Many human experts had challenged it before—but every one of them had ended up as dust, nourishing the poison-soaked land.

Yet today, it had fallen. No wonder terror filled their eyes when they looked toward Zi Yan.

Though faint, both could sense it—the overwhelming suppression of the Beast Soul she had summoned. That was what had doomed their master.

The gaunt man in yellow narrowed his eyes. Even the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast had been slain. What chance did he have? Fear crept into his heart.

"I don't know what kind of offense the chief gave these people, but I'm not dying with him."

The fat one, however, roared with fury.

"You dare slay our chief?! The Scorpion Dragon Tribe will never forgive you! Dry Monkey, avenge him!"

"Perfect," Liu Xi said calmly. "I had no intention of letting any of you leave alive."

His tone was cold, decisive. Zi Yan had revealed her Beast Soul during battle—there could be no witnesses. Whether these two had guessed her true identity or not, he could not risk it. If word reached the traitorous dragons, the consequences would be catastrophic.

The thin man forced a trembling smile. "Brother, you've already slain the chief. I didn't see anything—I don't know anything! Please, spare me!"

The fat man's face flushed red with rage. "Coward! The chief showed us great kindness, and you beg like a dog before his killers?!"

Liu Xi's brows lifted slightly. He hadn't expected loyalty among beasts. Pity flickered briefly in his eyes.

"You have spirit," he said softly. "Elder Yao, hold him. Ah Da—go!"

Yao Tianhuo chuckled. "I've delayed long enough anyway."

With a surge of Spiritual Power, he weaved his hands through intricate seals. "If we're to cut the grass, best to pull up the roots."

"Damn it, I don't want to die!"

The yellow-robed man panicked. As he tried to retreat, a streak of silver light shot across the sky.

The Earth Demon Puppet—Ah Da—appeared before him in a blur, both fists blazing with silver Dou Qi. It drove forward like a cannonball.

Boom!

The thin man spat blood, his frail body hurled back like a broken kite. The difference in strength was far too vast; he couldn't even raise a defense.

Before he could hit the ground, the silver light struck again. Ah Da's fists pounded mercilessly, turning the man into a smear of blood and bone.

The fat man trembled, flesh quivering. He knew that puppet—had seen it crush the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast's skull.

His eyes darted to Liu Xi, realization dawning: the human controlled everything, even the puppet.

"Roar!"

The fat man bellowed, leaping with shocking speed for his size. His massive hammer swung down toward Liu Xi like a falling mountain.

"Haha! To harm my little friend while I'm here? Where would my dignity go?"

Yao Tianhuo laughed heartily. Though his soul had not yet fully recovered, binding a single 4-Star Dou Zong was no trouble.

His hands shifted through complex seals, and a massive spiritual web materialized above the fat man, descending in a cascade of glowing threads.

The spiritual threads looked delicate, yet they were tougher than steel. The man roared and struggled, but every move only made the web tighten further, binding him completely.

At that moment, Xiao Yixian approached, her steps light as falling petals. Her calm eyes fixed on the captive. "Young Master, this one?"

Liu Xi smiled faintly. He was still only a 9-Star Dou Huang—without a powerful Dou Technique, he couldn't easily kill a Dou Zong.

"Xian'er, finish him. We can't leave any loose ends."

"Yes, Young Master."

A flicker of killing intent flashed in her eyes. If her master desired death, then death it would be.

"Poison Blood Thorn!"

Xiao Yixian opened her lips and spat a mouthful of Woeful Poison Blood. It condensed into a crimson arrow and shot straight into the bound man's chest.

The blood arrow pierced his flesh with ease, spreading through his veins like wildfire.

A dreadful aura of death spread rapidly. The fat man's eyes bulged in terror as he frantically channeled Dou Qi to resist—but how could mere energy stop the Woeful Poison Body's essence?

Moments later, his massive frame turned ashen-gray. Foam dripped from his mouth. Life fled.

When the corpse hit the ground, Ah Da returned, dragging the broken remains of the yellow-robed man behind him.

The battlefield fell silent once more.
