"You said you wanted him, that you needed him, that it must be him." Leira hummed and tilted her head, a thoughtful expression crossing her features. "But I could tell that you were starting to care for him."
"No, I wasn't." Renzille was quick to deny the claims, shaking her head.
"You are." Bluria insisted, nudging her slightly.
"I'm not." Renzille frowned, casting a glance on the little girl. "I wanted the little boy because I know Cross is after him."
"That's true, but you already like Crane as if he was one of us." Leira shrugged, leaning back and planting her palm onto the tabletop. "There's no need to be shy. We'll welcome him to our family as if you have given birth to him—"
"Crane doesn't want to be my son." Renzille quickly interrupted Leira and told her what Crane wanted. "He.. Uh, he said he doesn't want to become adopted, but he still wanted to be important to me."
