Chapter 61 - Chapter 61: Slaying the Three-Eyed Charm Fox

Three hours later, Xie Yue had finished absorbing his spirit ring.

Everyone gathered around him.

Hu Liena couldn't wait to ask:

"Brother, you've absorbed the ring—how does it feel? How much did your spirit power increase?"

"It went up by two levels. I'm level fifty-two now."

The two-level increase wasn't solely from the spirit ring itself.

When Xie Yue had broken through level fifty, he hadn't obtained his spirit ring immediately. The spirit power he'd accumulated during that time had now manifested all at once, bringing him straight to level fifty-two.

As he spoke, Xie Yue turned his gaze toward Sun Chuantao.

"Chuantao, are you alright?"

Xu Yu answered with a hint of pride:

"Boss, don't worry. With me here, how could there be any problem? Tao Ge is already fully recovered."

Sun Chuantao nodded.

"Yeah, I'm fine now. If it hadn't been for Brother Yan's punch earlier, the outcome could've been disastrous."

Everyone turned their attention to Yan.

Although he hadn't taken part in surrounding the Phantom Tiger, that one heavy punch he'd thrown had stunned the beast long enough for Xie Yue and the others to trap it and strike the killing blow.

"If it weren't for Brother Yan's punch, that thing might've escaped. Luckily, he didn't use his full strength—or it would've been killed outright."

That earlier strike from Yan had only been a regular Blazing Fist, not his fifth spirit ability, Furious Magma Fist.

If he'd used that, the Phantom Tiger would've been incinerated instantly, and they wouldn't have had to struggle so much.

Yan smiled, then asked curiously:

"Xie Yue, that Phantom Tiger had terrifying speed and attack power, plus its Shadow Clone ability. Your fifth spirit skill must be quite formidable, right?"

Xie Yue nodded.

"My fifth spirit skill indeed draws upon the tiger's speed, strength, and its innate cloning ability. I've named it Moonblade Mirage."

To give everyone a clearer idea of its power, Xie Yue demonstrated the skill.

As he activated it, a dark aura spread outward, cloaking the area around him in shadow.

Two crescent blades flew from his hands, and as they cut through the air, they suddenly multiplied into countless shimmering afterimages. The phantom blades darted across the battlefield under his control like ghosts, striking from every conceivable angle.

This spirit skill combined devastating attack power and speed with an unpredictable, elusive trajectory.

Opponents would see only a blur of overlapping blades—unable to tell which one was real.

Under the assault of Moonblade Mirage, even strong enemies would struggle to withstand it.

Hu Liena gasped in awe:

"Brother, that Moonblade Mirage is incredible—it's impossible to defend against!"

"Nana, our next goal is to find a suitable spirit beast for you. Once you gain your first ten-thousand-year spirit ring, you'll be even stronger."

"Mhm."

Hu Liena was full of anticipation for her upcoming first ten-thousand-year spirit ring.

Her cultivation path focused on the extreme—the art of charm. Her previous four spirit abilities all centered around enchantment and seduction.

Thus, the spirit beast she needed to hunt was rare—it had to possess charm-based powers as well.

The next morning, as the first rays of sunlight pierced through the dense forest canopy, the group had already packed up and set off toward the forest's heart.

Their goal was clear: to find a ten-thousand-year spirit beast with charm abilities for Hu Liena.

As before, Lin Zhendong left the tasks of tracking and hunting to the seven of them.

The deeper they ventured, the more cautious their steps became.

As dusk approached, the light filtering through the forest grew dim. The occasional roars of spirit beasts echoed around them, keeping everyone on edge.

Then, they noticed something unusual—a cave hidden beneath thick vines and moss, as if untouched by man or beast for ages.

Yan sensed something amiss—beneath that camouflage, faint spirit power fluctuations could be felt.

"Shh~"

He signaled for everyone to halt.

"There's a spirit beast inside that cave. Stay here—I'll go take a look."

Moving quietly, Yan crept toward the entrance.

Gently parting the vines, he peered through the gap into the cave.

Inside, under dim light, a massive spirit beast lay coiled.

It was a ten-thousand-year-old Demon Fox, its fur a deep, lustrous violet.

Then Yan noticed something startling—on its forehead gleamed a third eye.

"It's a ten-thousand-year Three-Eyed Charm Fox!"

He hurried back and whispered to the group.

Hu Liena's eyes lit up in delight.

"Really—a Three-Eyed Charm Fox?"

"Yes," Yan confirmed with a nod.

He knew how cunning fox-type spirit beasts were, their charm abilities incredibly potent. Even having found it here didn't guarantee an easy hunt—they would need to proceed carefully.

"There might be other exits inside the cave," Yan cautioned. "Don't rush in. I'll go first. Nana, Xie Yue, Sun Chuantao—you follow after me. Li Kai, Zhang Ping, Xu Yu—you three guard the entrance and keep watch."

"Got it."

Everyone nodded.

They followed Yan's lead, creeping closer to the cave.

Sensing the intruding human aura, the Three-Eyed Charm Fox let out a piercing screech. Its fur bristled, and all three eyes gleamed with feral menace.

Yan dashed into the cave, unleashing his martial soul—his whole body ignited in flame, the fiery glow flooding the dark interior with light.

Enraged at the trespassers in its territory, the fox's three eyes flared with pink light—bewitching rays that could cloud the mind.

"Don't look into its eyes!"

Hu Liena leapt in after him. She instantly felt the immense charm power radiating from the beast and responded in kind—activating her own bewitchment skill to counter it.

Suddenly, the Three-Eyed Charm Fox split into two identical forms and lunged at Hu Liena.

At that moment, Xie Yue and Sun Chuantao charged in as well, attacking from both sides—one toward the true body, one toward the clone.

This time, Yan didn't join the battle.

He stood to the side, his flames illuminating the fight.

Although the Three-Eyed Charm Fox possessed a clone ability, its attack power and speed were inferior to the Phantom Tiger's.

With Hu Liena restraining it, Xie Yue and Sun Chuantao's strikes landed more easily.

Sun Chuantao hit the clone; Xie Yue's attack found the true body.

Empowered by his fifth spirit ring, Xie Yue's strike was overwhelmingly sharp—one blow severely wounded the fox.

"Nana, finish it!"

"Right!"

Hu Liena flashed forward, her blade gleaming. With a swift motion, she drove it straight through the Three-Eyed Charm Fox's heart.
