Chapter 41 - The Second-year Building

The second-year block stood on the south wing of Oval Academy, separated from the rest of the school by wide training yards and long stone walkways.

From a distance, it looked similar to the other year blocks, tall and rectangular, made of reinforced steel and dark alloy walls, but the closer one got, the more obvious the differences became.

Every year had its own building, just like the dorm complexes, male and female alike. First-years stayed east. Third-years occupied the west wing, nearer to the combat arenas and advanced labs. The fourth-year block stood farther back, isolated and guarded, almost like a fortress within the academy.

Unlike the first-year block, which was constantly supervised and filled with rules, the second-year building felt loose. Second-years were trusted to handle themselves, and that trust often turned into arrogance.
