Chapter 52 - Chapter 50: We Met By Chance (Finale) - Part 2

No, she still had love—her love with Qin Feng. They'd once loved each other so deeply. Even though he'd fallen, she never thought of leaving him. She believed love would make their life beautiful again. Money, status—they'd have all of it.

Su Wan was just about to open the door when it opened first. Seeing the girl standing at the entrance, she smiled warmly. "Didn't I tell you not to wait for me? If there's something good to eat, just save me some."

"I just happened not to be sleepy."

"Alright. What did you make tonight? Any snacks from different countries? I've been on a business trip for days—I'm absolutely craving your food." Su Wan quickly changed shoes and rushed into the kitchen. "Qin Xin, I really can't live without you anymore."

A-Xin smiled, following behind Su Wan. "I made everything. Heard you were coming back, so I prepared a lot."

Su Wan had already seen it—so many snacks arranged in the kitchen, with soup warming in the pot. Looking at all this, then turning to look at the girl at the kitchen door, she felt everything was perfect.

After enjoying a wonderful meal, Su Wan conscientiously washed the dishes.

A-Xin came to the kitchen at this moment, standing beside her and staring. This made Su Wan sense something was off. "What's wrong? Is there a problem?"

"Su Wan, help me with something."

"What is it? Just tell me—I'll definitely help." No matter what, if this girl asked, she'd go through fire and water.

A-Xin smiled lightly and said, "Su Wan, say to me 'you like me,' okay?"

"Crash—"

The bowl in Su Wan's hand dropped to the floor, shattering into pieces. Her heart pounded uncontrollably, impossible to calm. What did she just ask her to say?

She stared at A-Xin in disbelief, her voice trembling, stammering, "What... what did you say?"

"Say to me 'you like me,' can you?"

Hearing it clearly, Su Wan took a deep breath. Facing the girl with clear eyes, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, so can you say it?"

"No, let me prepare myself." No matter what A-Xin's purpose was, whether this confession opportunity was real or fake, she didn't want to miss it. If she missed it today, there might never be another chance in her lifetime.

"Qin Xin."

"Mm."

Su Wan was so nervous. She opened her mouth several times, finally gritting her teeth. "Qin Xin, I like you, okay? I really like you. I truly, truly like you."

Like me?

A-Xin's smile deepened. "Say it a few more times."

"I like you. I like you. Qin Xin, I like you. I love you." Su Wan finally couldn't hold back. After saying it, her heart felt both sour and hot. She didn't even dare look at the other person. She was afraid—afraid this was just some kind of experiment.

"You like me? You love me?" A-Xin asked.

"Yes, I like you. I love you." Su Wan seemed to throw caution to the wind. Whatever the other person wanted her to say, she'd comply. She'd go along with everything.

She stared at the floor when suddenly she felt someone embrace her waist. The other person's voice sounded by her ear, "I finally know—actually, I like you too. I love you too." A-Xin's voice slowly rose. At that moment, Su Wan froze. Quickly recalling those words, she also embraced the slender body in her arms. "You said... you like me? You love me too?"

"Mm."

"Qin Xin, you're not lying to me?"

"Have I ever lied to you?"

Su Wan pressed her lips together. "This must be a dream." Only in dreams would such beautiful things happen.

"It's not a dream."

Su Wan released A-Xin. "If it's really not a dream, then I need to test it." Before A-Xin could react, she kissed her lips. The warm sensation made her pull back immediately. "Not a dream!"

After confirming several times, Su Wan finally determined A-Xin truly liked her. She nearly jumped for joy, and while washing dishes, she broke several more.

"It's fine. I have plenty of money. If they break, I'll buy new ones. I'm happy—consider it like setting off firecrackers to celebrate."

"Su Wan, you really act like a nouveau riche."

Su Wan turned and kissed A-Xin's cheek. "After finding you, am I not exactly a nouveau riche?"

"Why did you need to confirm I liked you before confessing? Were you afraid I didn't like you?"

A-Xin thought about it. "I don't know either."

"Forget it, I don't care about these things. As long as you like me now, that's enough." Su Wan understood clearly—finding Qin Xin was the greatest windfall of her life.

From that evening on, the employees of Su Corporation lived in daily torment at noon, because their President Su had found a girlfriend. Her girlfriend was beautiful, capable, and could cook delicious food. Every day that fragrance wafted from President Su's office, and they all had the impulse to kidnap President Su's girlfriend and force her to cook for them.

Moreover, their serious President Su—every time she saw that beautiful Miss Qin, her smile never disappeared.

Su Wan later learned what A-Xin was doing for Chairman Zhou. When the two laid everything out, looking at A-Xin's stocks and investments, calculating A-Xin's assets, Su Wan's eyes grew dizzy. She wasn't wrong—she really was a nouveau riche. Her girlfriend was too wealthy.

"Su Wan, I'll leave the money with you. Spend it however you want." A-Xin gave everything to Su Wan. Looking at the pile of property deeds before her, all in her name, Su Wan felt an indescribable feeling. So this was what it felt like to be cherished. She hugged A-Xin and kissed her. "A-Xin, you're really too good to me. I can only spend a lifetime slowly repaying you."

Once, when they were moving to a new house, Su Wan was organizing things and pulled out many antiques from a box. They looked very familiar, but these antiques seemed to have flaws—certain areas clearly filled in. She took an antique vase to the living room to ask A-Xin what this was about.

"That year on the Carnival, I had Old Zhu bid on them for me." A-Xin answered. "That was so long ago, I forgot to tell you. Just deal with them—these things have all been repaired, so their value definitely isn't as high."

Su Wan's expression was strange. She remembered too, staring at the antique's flawed areas. "So those fragments came from these? That antique jewelry exhibition, having antiques wear jewelry—was to cover these flaws, then livestream to clear suspicion?"

"Mm."

Su Wan bit her teeth. "Little spendthrift." She looked at the antiques with regret, then said, "From now on, whatever antiques you like, just go buy them. Dig whatever shaped holes you want—we're not short on money anyway."

"Mm." A-Xin nodded. "This month a lot more money came into my account. I'll transfer it over to you later."

"Okay."

Su Wan smiled happily. Holding A-Xin's money, holding A-Xin herself—this was absolutely a perfect life.

Once, the two were out shopping and ran into an acquaintance.

When Ye Xiaoge saw the two holding hands, she froze too. She smiled slightly. "What a coincidence."

"Quite."

Su Wan looked at the already somewhat weathered Ye Xiaoge, not curious about her life. Instead, Ye Xiaoge grew uncomfortable first. "My husband and son are waiting for me over there. I... I'll go over now."

Ye Xiaoge turned and left. Later the two saw the man beside Ye Xiaoge—it wasn't Qin Feng. The man was slightly plump, not handsome, with a disabled leg, but the whole time he held the several-year-old child, one hand holding Ye Xiaoge's. Seeing Ye Xiaoge in a bad mood, he quickly inquired with a face full of concern.

Ye Xiaoge shook her head, indicating nothing was wrong. She couldn't help but look back at those two equally beautiful women, recalling a few years ago when she was still vain, still naively believing in love. Qin Feng had given her love and also given her despair. She thought love could conquer everything, but in the end it was just a joke. Only then did she understand how precious Su Wan's kindness to her had been. And she had hurt Su Wan for her love.

At first, things with Qin Feng were fine. Then one day she woke up and Qin Feng had taken all their assets, withdrawn the only few tens of thousands in her card. She was penniless at that moment, and love died in that instant too. She thought that was despair, but then Qin Feng had sold her. That day several men burst in—it was terrifying. She fought with all her might to break free.

Those men quickly chased after her. No one helped. In her despair, it was this not-so-handsome man beside her who rushed out and stood in front of her. This man was not only unattractive with a disabled leg and ordinary circumstances, but he was her only warmth in this world.

Perhaps this man was the fool Su Wan had mentioned.

She wanted to be selfish one more time.

She married him. She had no love for him, only coveted his warmth and kindness. He seemed to understand and didn't mind, but he was always good to her. On their wedding day, she promised in her heart that even without romantic love, she'd spend her life with him in familial affection.

She snapped back to reality, looking at the man beside her. I'm sorry, but this time I really will be selfish for a lifetime.

After encountering Ye Xiaoge, the two passed through a plaza and saw a beggar lying by the roadside. That face made them both fall into thought, exchanging glances: Qin Feng.

Qin Feng's legs had been broken, two fingers chopped off. He lay there silently, not noticing them.

Many people were throwing coins and bills. Some discussed how this beggar was quite good-looking—how did he end up so miserable? A-Xin glanced at a QR code in front of Qin Feng—definitely Qin Feng, so current even as a beggar. She pulled out her phone, scanned the QR code, and transferred two thousand yuan to Qin Feng.

Su Wan couldn't help asking, looking like a little housewife, "Why give him money? Two thousand yuan—isn't that a bit much?"

"Not much. One thousand to rent a single room, one thousand for a month's living expenses." The words Qin Feng had given her years ago, returned intact. Holding grudges was human nature.

After a while, Qin Feng raised his head, looking at the direction the two departed. He laughed mockingly, pulled out his phone to look at the transferred two thousand yuan, and scoffed lightly: "I can eat for half a year, wasteful woman."

He put down the phone and simply lay on the ground, covering his face with old newspaper.
