Chapter 197 - Chapter 197 – Like Fine Wine, the More You Taste, the Better It Gets

When Fan Shiyu saw Dai Xiao before her, her expression instantly turned icy.

However, she didn't act immediately. From the looks of it, Xu Mu seemed to know this man.

She wouldn't kill him right in front of Xu Mu.

Dai Xiao also noticed Fan Shiyu, but when she had tried to kill him earlier, she'd been wearing that human-skin mask — the pockmarked woman.

Now, before him stood a stunning beauty with flawless skin. He didn't recognize her at all.

"There is some," Xu Mu said calmly, "but it's not your turn yet. You'll have to trade something valuable."

"Xu Mu! You've got some nerve! You won't even give me your damn piss?" Dai Xiao roared, clenching his fists.

As the pampered young master of a secluded family, he'd never endured such hardship in his life.

Even though he wasn't favored, the worst pain he'd ever felt was drinking an overly bitter Americano, and the hardest thing he'd ever done was playing the top lane in a game.

Now, he was completely at his limit.

"Even urine can save a life," Xu Mu said indifferently, glancing at him.

The moment people nearby heard that there was urine, all eyes turned toward him.

Some were repulsed, but the instinct to survive still drove them.

Many had been trapped here for days, hovering on the edge of death.

Now, suddenly there was something liquid — and possibly drinkable. Who would let that chance slip away?

Fan Shiyu listened to Dai Xiao's tone and judged that they were acquaintances but not friends. That was fine with her — killing him later wouldn't weigh on her conscience.

"Kid! Give me your urine!"

This time it was a deep-eyed middle-aged man speaking.

Cracks covered his lips, blood dried black between them.

Seeing others clamoring for the stuff, Dai Xiao panicked. "Xu Mu, give it to me! I'll pay you a million when we get out!"

"I'll pay two million!" said another man lying weakly on the ground.

"You refuse me? I'll kill you right now!" the deep-eyed man bellowed, lunging at Xu Mu.

Before Fan Shiyu could move, a steel nail shot from the side—

Bang!

It pierced the man's temple. He dropped dead instantly.

"Anyone who dares touch my brother—dies!"

Dai Xingluo appeared, drawn here by the golden light as well.

"Xingluo, wait! That guy wasn't attacking me—" Dai Xiao started, smiling—only to freeze as Dai Xingluo wrapped herself around Xu Mu's arm.

What? What was happening? The "brother" she mentioned… wasn't him?!

"Kid! When we get out, I'll pay three million! Just give me the piss!" a bearded man slumped against a rock croaked.

"I don't know you people," Xu Mu said coolly. "For all I know, you're lying. I only care about what's in your hands—your spiritual treasures."

As he spoke, he backed up onto a flat area, opened his spatial pouch discreetly, and took out half a bottle of mineral water.

Then he added the two bottles of urine he'd filled earlier and set them neatly in a row.

"Let me introduce the lineup," Xu Mu said with a straight face. "The bottle on the left is mine. The middle one belongs to a beautiful woman."

He pointed to the right. "And this one—this one's my leftover mineral water."

The crowd's attention snapped to the middle bottle. "A beauty's urine?" Their eyes darted between Fan Shiyu and Dai Xingluo — both stunning women, one regal and mature, the other elegant and ethereal.

If it was from one of them… maybe it wasn't so bad.

Fan Shiyu and Dai Xingluo both flushed, embarrassed under all the stares.

This guy is unbelievable, they thought.

But Xu Mu hadn't specified which of them it was, so they couldn't exactly protest.

"Here's how we're selling," Xu Mu continued. "Mine starts at a third-grade spiritual treasure. The lady's—fourth-grade minimum. As for the mineral water, bidding starts at seventh-grade and above."

He looked around calmly. So what if they'd been here first? In the end, they'd still have to give up their treasures to survive.

Fan Shiyu rolled her eyes helplessly. This man's a genius—and an absolute menace.

"What? The beauty's isn't the most expensive? Then I'll take the beauty's one!" the bearded man declared.

Others glanced repeatedly between the two women, unable to tell whose it was.

If it were mixed from both… even better.

"Alright, we'll start with the beauty's bottle," Xu Mu said, pointing to the middle one. "Opening bid: a fourth-grade treasure."

"I'll give a fifth-grade Stone Blossom!" shouted the bearded man.

The crowd cursed under their breath. Show-off!

It started at fourth-grade, and he jumped straight to fifth?

But at this point, it was worth it — this stuff could mean life or death.

"I'll add a fifth-grade Stone Blossom and a third-grade Fire Vine!" rasped a scar-faced man.

"I'll give a Stone Blossom and two Fire Vines!"

"I'll offer two Stone Blossoms!"

The bidding war grew heated; faces flushed red as people shouted over one another.

Meanwhile, the bald old man in sunglasses merely smiled. He still had water—no need to compete.

Besides, even if they won treasures, could they protect them?

He planned to seize the Golden Divine Wheat, then kill everyone else and take their goods afterward.

Xu Mu smiled faintly. The types of treasures they mentioned were all the same few—normal enough.

After all, spiritual treasures varied by region; no place had everything.

"Damn it! I'll give a seventh-grade Blue Sunflower! Who can beat that?" the bearded man roared.

He understood perfectly: survival came first. Once he lived through this, he could always take his treasures back.

Xu Mu's eyes widened slightly. He actually had a Blue Sunflower?

The others gasped. He's insane!

A seventh-grade treasure—for urine?

Even the bald old man's eyes narrowed. Now this was worth fighting for.

"Blue Sunflower. Any higher offers?" Xu Mu asked, glancing around. No one spoke.

He nodded. "Alright then—deal."

Dai Xingluo retrieved the Blue Sunflower and handed it to Xu Mu.

Fan Shiyu, meanwhile, gave the middle bottle to the bearded man.

He grabbed it, uncapped it, and took a big swig.

A blissful grin spread across his face. "Ahh… like fine wine—the more you savor, the richer it tastes! Wonderful! Truly wonderful!"

As he spoke, his gaze lingered on Dai Xingluo and Fan Shiyu, leering.

A few others even began to envy him.

Both women, however, shivered with disgust, goosebumps rising all over.

"Next up—the mineral water," Xu Mu announced with a smile. "Starting bid: seventh-grade spiritual treasure."

"I'll take that one too," the bearded man said, swaying slightly. He tossed the empty bottle aside and staggered up. "Two Blue Sunflowers!"

Xu Mu's eyes widened again. He has that many?

"Any higher offers?" Xu Mu asked the crowd. None replied.

"Alright then—sold."

The bearded man grinned as he approached, one hand sliding into his backpack—

then suddenly drew a short dagger.
