Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: Madam, You Wouldn’t Want Your Husband to Know About This, Would You?

After giving instructions, Xu Mu went back to the office to wait.

Zhang Shuaikai hurried outside the company.

When Feng Jian spotted him from inside the car, he honked. Zhang walked over, and Feng Jian lowered the front passenger window a crack.

"Get in."

"Alright."

Zhang opened the door and sat down.

"How's the divine doctor? Have you reached him?" Feng Jian asked.

"Young Master Feng, sorry. I bragged a bit while drinking yesterday. I can't reach the doctor directly—I only contacted him through someone else," Zhang said with a helpless look.

"Through who?" Feng Jian frowned.

"Xu Mu."

"What?"

Feng Jian's face darkened. He grabbed Zhang by the collar. "Explain yourself clearly! Believe it or not, I'll kill you!"

Zhang sneered inwardly. He'd once thought that, sharing the same father, he and Feng Jian at least had some blood tie—and that teaming with Xu Mu against the Fengs felt a bit uncomfortable. But seeing Feng Jian's attitude now, he abandoned that notion completely.

Zhang relayed exactly what Xu Mu had told him.

Only then did Feng Jian release his grip. "You mean Xu Mu used to have the same problem as me?"

"That's right. You know I was a spy, and Xu Mu and I got along well," Zhang explained. "One time while drinking, he told me he'd gone to Yanjing and Hudou, even sought famous foreign doctors, but nothing worked. After meeting that divine doctor, now he's 'eight times a night.'"

"Damn…"

Jealousy surged in Feng Jian's heart. If he had that ability, wouldn't life be heaven?

"Xu Mu also said if I ever had that kind of issue, I could come to him," Zhang continued. "But given your relationship with him, I doubt he'd help you. Even if he did, you'd pay a price."

Feng Jian didn't even think it over. What price could compare to a happy life?

He'd even be willing to give up Shen Wanning.

He was a man—he couldn't live without women. At worst, he'd stop fighting for the inheritance.

What was the inheritance for anyway?

Or rather, what good was that much money?

Obviously—to play. To have more women.

Now that he couldn't perform, even if he seized the family fortune, he wouldn't be happy.

"Is Xu Mu at the company?" he asked at once.

"Yes," Zhang nodded.

"Take me to him."

Feng Jian flung the door open to get out.

"Should I be there?" Zhang asked.

"Of course. You've always been in Yang City; it's normal for you to know me."

Feng Jian could barely wait—he only wanted his body fixed.

Xu Mu sat on the office sofa, quietly waiting. From what he knew of Feng Jian, the man would definitely come.

Sure enough, after about ten minutes, Xu Mu sensed Feng Jian's arrival.

The office door opened. Seeing him, Xu Mu feigned surprise. "Feng Jian! What are you doing in our company?"

"B-Brother Xu, I've got a favor to ask," Feng Jian said awkwardly.

Back when the Xu and Feng families fought a commercial war, Xu Mu and Feng Jian had their own private rivalry—something of a legend in Yang City.

Feng Jian hadn't expected that, even though the Fengs won the war, he now had to lower his head.

"Zhang Shuaikai! What's this? You in league with Feng Jian?" Xu Mu suddenly barked.

"No! I often follow Manager Liu to cut deals in Yang City, so of course I know Young Master Feng. Back when we were drinking, I mentioned Brother Xu knows a divine doctor," Zhang said quickly, waving his hands.

"A divine doctor? You sick?" Xu Mu sized up Feng Jian.

Feng Jian waved Zhang out with a look. Zhang didn't move until Xu Mu gave him a nod; then he left and closed the door.

"Brother Xu, I heard you used to be… impotent, and later got cured?" Feng Jian asked.

"Yeah—used to be. Now I'm advancing by the day—vast and profound," Xu Mu said, arms folded, face proud.

Delight flashed across Feng Jian's face. "Where is the doctor who treated you? Can he treat me?"

"No. Why would I help you? Yesterday you were the one who hired people to cripple me, weren't you?" Xu Mu said coolly. "You think I'm stupid—saving an enemy?"

"Brother Xu… fine, I admit it. I hired them, but someone put me up to it—Dai Xiao told me to move first," Feng Jian pleaded. "Brother Xu, I'm begging you. I don't want Shen Wanning anymore—I'll give her to you!"

Xu Mu wasn't surprised. In the original "plot," Feng Jian and Dai Xiao had a peculiar connection.

"Feng Jian, it's a bit early to talk. I'm not even sure your condition is the same as mine," Xu Mu said, heading for the door. "Come with me."

Feng Jian followed closely.

They reached the lobby. In the distance, Li Yun saw Xu Mu but didn't disturb him—she simply smiled.

Still, the favorability text floated above her head.

After returning the greeting, Xu Mu walked to his car and took out a pill wrapped in a plastic bag.

"This is medicine the old divine doctor gave me back then. I was cured before finishing the course," Xu Mu said, giving it a little shake.

"Thank you, Brother Xu."

Feng Jian reached out, but Xu Mu put his hand behind his back.

"What are you thinking? Do you know how much I paid? You think you can just freeload?"

Xu Mu snorted. "One billion."

"One… billion?" Feng Jian's eyes widened in alarm, then twisted with anger. "Xu Mu, if you don't want to give it, just say so!"

"Alright, I'll say it straight. I don't want to give it."

"You—"

Staring at the pill, Feng Jian forced his breathing to steady. "My allowance isn't as much as yours. My dad only gives me three hundred thousand a month."

"If you don't have it, have your parents come to me. Feng Jian, put yourself in my shoes. If our roles were reversed, you'd be even harsher to me, wouldn't you?" Xu Mu said mildly.

"Damn it! If my dad finds out I screwed around until I'm impotent, he'll cripple me!" Feng Jian growled.

"Then go to your mother. She runs several companies. One billion is easy for her," Xu Mu said.

His aim today was to meet Feng Jian's mother.

"Fine! Xu Mu, you win!"

Feng Jian glared at him, then pulled out his phone to call his mother, Chen Cai.

His mother doted on him most; for his future happiness, he had no choice.

Watching Feng Jian stalk off with a bitter face, Xu Mu could tell he was getting an earful.

A full five minutes later, Feng Jian came back. "My mom agreed. She wants you to come to her."

"I go to her? Who's begging whom here?" Xu Mu said as he climbed into his Escalade and drove toward the gate. "Twenty minutes. If she doesn't show, I'm leaving."

"Brother Xu, don't go!"

Seeing this, Feng Jian quickly dialed again.

Xu Mu parked by the roadside outside the company. After a bit over ten minutes, a Maybach stopped in the distance.

A woman in a long dress with permed hair stepped out.

She was just over forty, but well maintained—looked about thirty.

For someone like Feng Kang, looks were obviously a prerequisite.

Chen Cai had a voluptuous, slightly plump figure and a striking, dignified face.

When he saw her, Feng Jian hurried forward.

What greeted him was a slap.

He didn't dare say a word. If his mother hadn't always fought for resources for him, his fate might have been no different from Zhang Shuaikai's.

Chen Cai walked up to Xu Mu's car, peered in through the window, and said coldly, "Boy from the Xu family, listen well! I won't give a billion—I won't even give ten million!"

"Madam, I think you'd better get in the car so we can talk," Xu Mu said with a pleasant smile.

Chen Cai hesitated, then opened the rear door and got in.

Xu Mu locked the doors and raised the windows. "Madam, you wouldn't want your husband finding out about you and Dai Xiao… would you?"
