The voting was done through the intranet using the tablets provided on each stockholder's table, and the results would be calculated within thirty minutes.
Viona watched Rafael tap his own name on the screen, and it made her nerves spike. He stayed quiet, and she felt like anything she said would come out wrong.
Even while waiting for the announcement, Viona felt more tense than Rafael, who looked calm on the surface. But she could sense the turmoil inside him. His confidence seemed slightly worn down by the way his teeth stayed clenched.
The pressure became unbearable. Viona stood, her legs carrying her toward the restroom for some air.
But before she could enter the women's restroom, a strong hand grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the door. She turned reflexively and found Roman gripping her.
"What are you doing?" she yelped, trying to pull free.
Roman released her and stepped back. He looked at her hesitantly, like he wanted to say something.
