Chapter 87 - A Persuasion

Sir Edward stared at me wide-eyed through the rear-view mirror.

"That's… that will put me in a difficult position, ma'am. What are you planning to do by meeting him?"

"Since my role here is as a persuader, of course, I'll persuade him to talk. If we're handing him over to Roman, then at the very least, we need to gain whatever information Feren Howel is so desperate to get, right? It'll help Rafael."

While driving, he let out a heavy sigh at my explanation.

"Ma'am, this man was willing to kill to protect a piece of data. I don't think he can be persuaded any further."

I felt challenged by the refusal, even though the thought of facing a killer made my skin crawl like hell.

"But if we never try, how will we know?" My voice wavered slightly. "You people seem awfully fond of persuading others with violence. I'm sure, as a lawyer, you know words are always the best way to persuade someone.
