Puri-Puri Prisoner sensed it first; every hair on his body stood on end.
All eyes snapped skyward. A tiny green speck was expanding at a terrifying speed.
Boom—!!!
A green figure slammed into the center of the battlefield like a meteor. The ground spider-webbed apart; the shockwave blasted Metal Bat and Puri-Puri Prisoner off their feet.
"Who goes there?!" Atomic Samurai's pupils tightened; his right hand clenched the hilt at his waist on instinct.
Through the drifting dust, a monstrous silhouette slowly straightened.
He was abnormally tall, his whole body sheathed in deep-green carapace that gleamed like metal.
Knotted muscle bulged with explosive power; merely standing there, he radiated murderous menace.
Most striking were the three giant mouths.
One sat where a normal head should be; the other two replaced the "hands," gaping maws set atop his burly forearms.
All three were crammed with rows of shark-like teeth, razors glinting with a chill light.
"Groribas?"
Melzargard—still tangling with the heroes—let his four remaining heads gasp in unison when they recognized the newcomer.
"Look at you—pathetic, Melzargard."
Groribas's voice dripped naked mockery.
He didn't even spare the heroes a glance; his attention was wholly on his comrade.
"Took you this long to handle a few natives, and you even lost a head. Lord Boros grows impatient."
Only then did Groribas turn to face the line of S-class heroes.
"A rabble of natives… and you dare defy the ruler of the cosmos?
"Your planet, your civilization, your lives—dust before Lord Boros's fleet."
One of the Dark Matter Thieves' top combatants—one of the three cosmic warriors—Groribas… enters the fray.
"Another one?!" a roar cut through the pressure-thick air.
Tanktop Master, having rushed over from afar, charged straight in.
"I don't care how many there are—Tanktop Master will take you head-on!"
Muscle surged beneath his white tank top until the fabric looked ready to explode.
The ground split beneath his feet; he hurled himself like a white cannonball at Groribas.
He'd crush this arrogant invader with his pride and joy—the power of the tanktop!
"Brainless brute."
Groribas didn't even shift a step; disdain curled his lips.
The head on his left arm rotated slightly, locking precisely onto the incoming target.
"Killer Move: Acid Armor-Piercing Ray!"
A jet of hyper-compressed acid spat from his mouth—so fast even Atomic Samurai could barely track it.
Tanktop Master's vaunted "tanktop power" was paper-thin before that beam.
The acid punched through his scapula in an instant, leaving a bowl-wide, smoke-hissing hole.
Pain from the savage corrosion dragged a scream from him. He crashed to one knee and lost combat ability on the spot.
"Tanktop Master!"
Watching from not far away, Child Emperor blanched and launched several mechanical spiders from his all-purpose backpack, trying to snare Groribas in an electrified web.
"Parlor tricks." Groribas didn't even look. The other arm-head yawned open.
"Killer Move: Corrosive Miasma!"
A pale-green fog billowed outward from him.
The spiders' precision shells met the mist with an audible sizzle; circuits shorted, smoke coughed out, and they clattered to the floor as slag.
"My gear!"
Child Emperor scrambled back from the spreading haze, face bloodless behind his mask.
"Such corrosion… nothing in the database comes close!"
Two moves. Two S-class heroes neutralized.
"So fast! And so bizarre!"
Bang moved at last.
He streaked in, a blur at eye-defying speed, hands trailing afterimages as he unleashed the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist, honed to extremes.
"Good speed—for an old man."
One of Groribas's heads read every path of Bang's assault with unnerving accuracy.
He didn't meet it head-on; the brute's combat intellect belied his bulk.
Just as Bang's hand-knife was about to bite into his neck, the forearm-head lunged sideways, jaws scything for Bang's own throat.
Alarms screamed in Bang's mind; experience told him that bite would be fatal.
He broke his chain cleanly, hips snapping as he slid past by a hair's breadth—close enough to smell the reek pouring from that mouth.
He had no time to breathe. From behind, Melzargard—freshly regenerated and eerily in sync—turned one arm into a reaper's scythe and swept for Bang's back.
Front and rear, seamless as clockwork!
The martial arts grandmaster was forced into a ragged side roll, losing all momentum.
"You vermin!"
Seeing comrades hammered and himself dismissed, Metal Bat's rage finally boiled over; his "fighting spirit" spiked to a peak.
He leaped despite the acid mist chewing his legs, thighs detonating with power.
Both hands choked up on his beloved bat; he swung a home-run smash down at Groribas's head.
Groribas didn't dodge. He even smiled.
"Come then!"
At the last instant, Melzargard's body slid in front of him, both arms flattening into a titanic shield. It took the blow full on.
The impact thundered across the sky.
The shield cratered and cracked, but Melzargard only staggered—and then his regeneration smoothed it over.
He'd made the perfect opening for Groribas to deal damage.
