Chapter 130 - The Double Bed in the Tent

After casually taking down Wang Jianqiang, who had tried to ambush him, Chen Mo looked up at Su Wan standing nearby.

The moment Chen Mo appeared, Wang Jianqiang had pushed Su Wan away. After falling into the water, Su Wan quickly distanced herself from him. However, after retreating to a safe distance, she didn't continue fleeing. Instead, she stood far away, watching the two men approach each other with an expression full of uncertainty and doubt.

Although she had long known of this mysterious black-clad figure's existence, this was her first time seeing him in person.

Just as Zhang Lan had vaguely described, his figure was very tall and imposing, exuding mystery everywhere. The pitch-black, cold metal mask on his head made it impossible to discern his age or features, but the feeling he gave her was mysterious and powerful.

Witnessing firsthand how Chen Mo easily caught barehanded the spear Wang Jianqiang had thrown with full force, and then without hesitation used that very spear to kill him, Su Wan felt no fear in her heart. Instead, she felt the excitement and relief of having survived a calamity.

Wang Jianqiang's earlier words had made her understand that everything today was a trap he had set to lure out Chen Mo. And once Chen Mo was truly taken down by him, she would definitely not escape his clutches.

Moreover, by then not only her, but all the other survivors on the island would be enslaved under Wang Jianqiang's martial power. She couldn't bear to imagine such a scenario.

Fortunately, Wang Jianqiang had dug his own grave.

Although Chen Mo had always hidden in the shadows and never showed himself, his consistent behavior showed that he was a person with a strong sense of justice.

If he had improper intentions like the three foreigners or Wang Jianqiang, there would have been no need to secretly provide them with food. When they were nearly starving, wouldn't everything be at his mercy?

But he hadn't stood by watching them go hungry. Instead, he quietly delivered precious food to them, and when the three foreigners abducted Zhang Lan and Xu Shan, he appeared in time to rescue them.

Like Wang Jianqiang, Su Wan had also carefully analyzed Chen Mo and reached a similar conclusion. She also believed that Chen Mo was very likely an assassin. The difference was that Wang Jianqiang couldn't see through Chen Mo's psychology at all, while she had made more guesses.

Chen Mo reminded her of a movie she had once seen—Léon in "Léon: The Professional." They both appeared equally cold and ruthless, killing without batting an eye, yet both chose to protect the weak.

Just like now, Chen Mo, who had just killed someone, looked cold and brutal, inspiring fear, yet meeting his gaze directed at her, Su Wan sensed a hint of concern within—like a ray of warm sunlight that completely melted the shadows in her heart.

At this moment, Su Wan confirmed her previous guess. Beneath Chen Mo's cold and mysterious exterior was a righteous and kind heart.

Although she didn't know what Chen Mo had experienced in the past or why he had become an assassin, Su Wan no longer felt any fear toward him. Instead, she felt a strong sense of security.

Perhaps he was like the chivalrous warriors of ancient times—eliminating evil and upholding justice, killing only those who deserved to be killed, just like the four people he had killed on this island.

Meeting Chen Mo's gaze, Su Wan looked back at him without avoiding his eyes.

"Thank you."

Su Wan's voice was calm and sincere.

After falling into the seawater twice, she was soaked from head to toe. Her damp long hair clung to her body, seawater continuously dripping from the ends. Her wet white shirt had become almost transparent, clinging tightly to her body and completely revealing her graceful figure. Her fair skin was faintly visible beneath the shirt, and the somewhat conservative white undergarments were clearly exposed.

Her exquisite and beautiful face beneath the wet hair, combined with this slightly disheveled yet alluring figure, was truly captivating. No wonder Wang Jianqiang had been so impatient to eliminate Chen Mo.

Surely if he had successfully killed Chen Mo, the first thing he would have done was make a move on Su Wan.

Chen Mo's gaze swept over Su Wan's body, then he turned and walked toward the forest.

Seeing this, Su Wan thought Chen Mo was about to leave and hide himself again, and quickly tried to call out to stop him.

"Follow me."

Chen Mo's voice was low and flat, as if everything that had just happened couldn't cause the slightest ripple in his spirit.

If Su Wan possessed hearing as acute as Chen Mo's, she would have discovered that Chen Mo's consistently slow and powerful heartbeat, which hadn't changed even when shooting Wang Jianqiang, had suddenly accelerated in that instant just now.

Who would have thought that Chen Mo, who had traversed medieval Europe and established a powerful empire spanning the entire European continent, holding the title of God Emperor, was actually still a pure virgin!

Honestly, the impact of that glimpse of Su Wan just now was no less than fighting Alexander Corvinus. Unfortunately, his mental power hadn't increased in the slightest because of it, otherwise he would have had to consider whether to keep looking.

Hearing Chen Mo's voice for the first time, Su Wan was also momentarily stunned. After processing what he had said, her expression couldn't help but show delight, and she quickly followed him.

As for whether following him would be dangerous—not to mention that Chen Mo had just saved her, and everything he had done consistently gave her a feeling of complete reliability—even if Chen Mo truly had improper thoughts about her, given the strength he had just displayed, she would be powerless to resist wherever she was. Whether she followed him or not made no difference, so Su Wan followed without hesitation.

Of course, most importantly, Su Wan trusted him. With her woman's intuition, she sensed no malice from Chen Mo at all.

If someone had told her before that she would so easily trust a strange man she was meeting for the first time and follow him alone into the forest, she would have thought it was crazy. Yet at this moment, she simply believed that Chen Mo would never harm her.

Chen Mo led Su Wan through the forest, taking several minutes to return to his camp.

Since he had already completely revealed himself to the survivors, there was no point in continuing to hide. So Chen Mo had decided to end his solo vacation and switch to group mode.

Full of curiosity, Su Wan followed behind Chen Mo, not knowing where he was taking her. It wasn't until Chen Mo stopped ahead of her that Su Wan realized they had come to a clearing in the forest.

A large military tent immediately appeared in her line of sight. Looking to the side, she saw a hammock tied to a tree and various fruits placed on a simple folding table, making her eyes widen involuntarily. Compared to their refugee camp-like settlement, this place was practically paradise.

If they were surviving in the wilderness, then Chen Mo was simply camping and picnicking!

But on this isolated deserted island, how had he managed all this?

Thinking of this, Su Wan's gaze toward Chen Mo filled with puzzlement and incomprehension. Chen Mo's figure, shrouded beneath the black mask, became even more mysterious and unfathomable.

Chen Mo paid no attention to Su Wan's inquiring gaze and walked into the tent on his own. This military tent brought from the Captain America world measured 3×4 meters in length and width, with a height of 2.5/1.6 meters. It had a door and windows, allowing free movement inside without needing to bend or lower one's head.

After entering the tent, Chen Mo retrieved a spare set of black tactical clothing and two towels from his spatial storage, placed them on the air mattress, then turned and walked back out of the tent.

"Go in and change your clothes."

Chen Mo's voice remained cold and indifferent. Hearing this, Su Wan looked down at herself and suddenly realized her current disheveled state.

Having experienced the recent ups and downs, although she had escaped from danger, Su Wan's mind was still somewhat dazed, and she hadn't noticed her embarrassing appearance all this time.

Thinking about how Chen Mo had nearly seen everything, Su Wan's face couldn't help but flush with a hint of embarrassment. But recalling Chen Mo's behavior, she couldn't help but smile sweetly, as if all the gloom Wang Jianqiang had brought her had dissipated.

"Thank you."

Softly thanking Chen Mo, Su Wan somewhat shyly hugged her arms and walked toward the tent. As she passed by Chen Mo, she couldn't help but turn her head to look at him. His tall figure stood there motionless, his back turned to her. His shoulders were broad, his back solid and straight. Just standing there like that made her feel incomparably at ease.

A charming smile appeared on Su Wan's face again as she gently lifted the door flap with one hand and entered the tent.

Feeling that clear yet shy gaze completely leave his body from behind, and the lifted door flap fall back down, Chen Mo finally felt more comfortable.

Previously, in the real world, Chen Mo had been focused on keeping a low profile and hiding himself, with most of his energy devoted to his slowly improving abilities. So he basically had no friends, and the women he interacted with most were Peggy Carter and Amelia. But they already had their hearts set on others, so naturally the feeling when they looked at him was different.

Entering the tent, Su Wan looked around. The space inside was very spacious and quite simple and tidy. A large double air mattress occupied only about a third of the space.

At this moment, a set of black clothing and two clean towels were placed on the mattress. Other than that, the tent was completely empty with nothing else inside.

For Chen Mo, who possessed spatial storage, most things could be directly retrieved from the space when needed. There was no need to have everything laid out.

Su Wan didn't change clothes immediately. Instead, she quietly walked to the window and looked out at Chen Mo standing outside. He was still standing in the same place, seemingly having never moved, appearing to have no intention of peeking at all.

A smile played at the corners of Su Wan's mouth as she slowly raised her hands and unbuttoned her shirt.

...

A few minutes later, Su Wan emerged from the tent wearing the somewhat oversized black tactical suit, lifting the door flap.

Her originally tall and slender figure, dressed in Chen Mo's clothing that was obviously several sizes too large, didn't look bulky at all. Instead, it added a bit of heroic spirit, making her appear even more radiant and captivating.

Chen Mo looked deeply at Su Wan, having to admit that she was truly a rare beauty. With rosy lips and jade-white teeth, eyebrows and eyes like a painting, a pair of almond-shaped eyes that were touching and moving, and her still slightly damp hair hanging by her cheeks, her already incredibly beautiful face appeared even more enchanting and alluring.
