The group walked over the Sinful Hunters guild hall. A partly run down looking but fairly building, standing three floors tall.
Walking into the front doors, their mouths dropped. The outside looked worn-and-torn, but the inside looked really nice. Everything in the building from what the group could see was made of rosewood. The only thing that wasn't wooden were the glass cups and the chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
Entering the building, the group saw about thirty people in the main lobby. There were tables, chairs, drinks, a quest board, and a bar.
The group, going unnoticed by everyone else in the hall, walked up a small flight of stairs and reached the receptionist's desk. There are two sets of stairs, one on each side, having the same design. The stairs were made of darkwood and were bulky so that when they took a step the floors didn't even creek.
"They took into consideration that different races would use these stairs, not just dwarves, elves, and humans. How nice." Coco said admiring the architecture of the stairs.
Once they reached the top, they saw the receptionists desk. There were some desks with papers on them, people running around trying to keep some semblance of organization. On the back wall of the office looking area, was a red dragon's head.
They walked up to the front, waiting for assistance to formally register with the guild.
"S-s-s-s-so sorry to keep you waiting!! How ca-n I help you?" A girl, around the age of twenty five years old, with long blond messy hair, bags under her eyes, and wearing the traditional receptionist uniform of a white blouse, black tie, and a long blue straight skirt, said scrambling before them.
"My name is Fenrir, and this is my party. We would like to register with this guild."
"T-t-this guild? The Sinful Hunters. A-a-a are you sure you have the right building?"
"Yes ma'am." Fenrir said feeling refreshed knowing he wasn't the only one having a rough day.
"Right! Umm ok, how do I do this again? It's been so long."
She scrambled for a few more moments, trying to find the right paper work. "Got it!" She yelled before realizing people might be staring at her now. She sheepishly hands each of the four people a small card.
"P-P-Please write your n-name and preferred position on the bothom line."
She bit her tongue! The group thought in unison.
The girl began to pout, the group, feeling bad, took a pen from the table and began to write on the bottom line of the adventurer card.
Fenrir Ironblood - Fighter
Zena Vital - Rouge
Alexandra Benika - Archer
Coco Garrison - Mage
Demons don't have last names, which might make me seem suspicious, so I gave them your last name. I am sorry master!
"Will we be getting an appraisal?" Fenrir asked out of curiosity.
"Huh? Umm." The lady shook her head from side to side signaling a no. "Asking for someone's magic is rude. S-so, we make it that r-r-regardless of status everyone starts at the same rank." She said slightly above a whisper.
She took the cards back, head held low, then placed the cards into a machine. After a moment the cards were complete.
First the magic device imprinted the guild's logo, a black dragon with a coiled tail and red eyes at the top of the card. Then it wrote each person's rank onto the card. This sort of acted as a watermark or official guild stamp of approval.
Guild - Sinful Hunters
Rank - E
Party - N/D
Name - Fenrir Ironblood
Position - Fighter
Guild - Sinful Hunters
Rank - E
Party - N/D
Name - Zena Vital
Position - Rouge
Guild - Sinful Hunters
Rank - E
Party - N/D
Name - Alexandra Benika
Position - Archer
Guild - Sinful Hunters
Rank - E
Party - N/D
Name - Coco Garrison
Position - Mage
Each person's card now displayed the proper information. With N/D meaning "not displayed" or "not determined."
Name, guild association, rank, party name, and position. Those were the only things the card needed to display.
"C-c-c- congratulations on j-j-joining the Sunful hunters." She coughed to clear her throat.
"You can now choose any mission of your rank or team up with a higher rated group!!!" She rushed to finish the line before going quiet.
"Thank you, Ma'am." Fenrir said with a smile. "Can I ask you one more question?"
The girl looked up at Fenrir and nodded.
"Why is everyone in a hurry and running around at the moment?"
"AH! The guild's strongest adventurer is back." There was no stutter or pause on this line, because she admired the strongest adventurer, so she repeated the good news happily to anyone who would listen.
"The strongest, huh?"
Moments later, above the receptionist's head, located on the third floor of the guild hall, there stood a man cladded in gold.
From head to toe, gold.
He stood nearly seven feet tall, has a large build, and on his back is a mighty sword. "Yuuna, are you talking about me?"
The man asked in a nice confident voice looking down on the four people before Yuuna.
"N-no sir! T-t-these people asked a question."
"I see. How can I help the four of you?"
The group looked up, he gave off a similar feeling to that of prince Argis Rosella, but he was not a demon or anything evil for there was no red aurora.
What are you exactly? Coco thought, staring at the helmet.
In an instant, the space became black, rather, they were moved to a black space. Fenrir, Coco, Zena, and Alex were now looking at the man in gold on a flat dark flat field.
"The real question is, what exactly are all of you? You four shouldn't be here."
Even with his mask on, covering his entire face, one could sense his sharp gaze.
