Before Dion knew it, he lay on the bed, tired.
Not only was he exhausted physically due to the exercise, but he also felt exhaustion in his soul.
After all He was only grade 9, he had just refined a grade 8 core!
'But how was this little weapon in the core I found in a beast? How do I even use it?'
He held the heart sword gently, 'Where do I keep it?'
He put on his clothes and gently placed the heart sword in his robe
By this time, it was already dark
'How long did I spend refining it?'
'Ah, I almost forgot!'
He picked the plates in the tray and took them into the bathroom. He was about to break them by gently hitting it on the wall, but then he remembered the core he just refined
Heart Sword!
He dropped the plates gently and removed the heart sword from his robes
He stared at it and tried to reimagine what he felt earlier.
He thought about trying to manipulate the soul 'aura' he had seen earlier, but as soon as he tried to do it, he caught a glance of his aura in the heart sword!
I have refined this heart sword, so it is mine!
Instead of focusing on his own soul, he focused on the aura in the heart sword, and suddenly, it enlarged!
It was way lighter than Dion expected!
He held it firmly, 'So it enlarges!'
Since it's from a grade 8 core, I expect it to be pretty strong!
He moved the carpet, separated a plate from the rest, and placed it where the carpet was supposed to be. He wielded the sword, sending it down with enough force to affect the plate and cause minimal noise and damage to the floor.
The plate broke into multiple pieces with a shattering sound!
He waited for a while before doing it to the rest of the dishes.
There were several marks on the ground, but fortunately, he could just use the carpet to hide them.
He packed the broken pieces and placed them directly under the window.
He took the tray and placed it under his pillow.
Finally, he turned the lantern off and left his room door slightly open.
He then fell into his bed, pretending to be asleep.
An hour and a half had passed.
Dion was still pretending to be asleep when suddenly
BOOM!
His window was broken open!
Dion smiled slightly before immediately pulling out the tray and jumping off the bed.
The intruder was a man of moderate height, and he was wearing a black cloak.
There was blood on the floor, but the intruder couldn't scream in pain; it was already hard enough to keep standing as he had stepped directly on the broken ceramics!
BANG BANG BANG
Dion hit the tray on the floor and the walls while shouting, 'Help, someone is attacking me!'
As he was shouting, the intruder squeezed his face and clenched his fists before jumping at Dion!
Dion was hit!
The intruder hit him right in the face!
But Dion was able to recover quickly. He made sure to move his soul 'aura' into his arm very quickly. He jumped right at the intruder.
'What if I do this?'
As soon as his fist came into contact with the man's face, there was a form of explosion. Though it was very small, it sounded like a bullet had just shot from a gun.
Dion looked at his fist; It was throbbing, he felt the pain in his bones, veins, and muscles. Thankfully, there were no superficial injuries.
The intruder was knocked out cold. He had not gotten up from where he lay.
Dion took no chances. He saw that the aura of this man was a very dark tone of brown; the aura was completely still
'He's most likely unconscious.' He thought to himself
At this moment, the inn attendant rushed into the room with 2 men dressed in robes.
These men had a bright blue hue as their aura.
'What happened?' One of the men spoke.
'I was about to go to bed when this man broke into my window and attacked me.' Dion said as he showed the scar on his face.
He could've easily dodged the blow, but he had a better plan.
'I was able to protect myself with some ceramic dishes.' Dion finished.
He then looked at the attendant
'How could this happen here? What if I was not able to defend myself and I was killed, is there no security?' Dion spoke
After that, he held his head, and he had a look of intense pain on his face
'How am I supposed to treat myself now!'
The attendant was scared because she knew this man had been brought here by the mercenary guild.
She quickly spoke, 'I-I'll call the manager now, it will all be settled, don't worry.'
The two men removed the hood of the intruder, and it revealed the face of someone Dion recognized.
'Ah, that guy from the guild, he was among the people standing behind the warrior,' Dion thought to himself.
'We would need you to write a report at our station, please follow us,' the other of the two men said.
