Is he trying to steal my Unit-02? No. No no no. Absolutely not!
"Gah!" Before she could protest, the Fish Angel clamped down harder. Swallowed half of Unit-02.
Sharp teeth pierced the outer armor. Sank into flesh. Blood sprayed. Pain synced through. Asuka clutched her abdomen. Screamed.
Her vision filled with the Angel's maw. Darkness. Abyss-deep.
That moment. Black memories flooded back. Fear crawled up her spine. Every nerve ending.
"No..." She resisted. Shouted.
Despair closed in. Then—light erupted in the cockpit. Blinding. Drove out the darkness.
She blinked. A massive figure stood before Unit-02. Prying the Angel's jaws open with bare hands.
"A giant... emerging from light?" Asuka stared. Whispered.
Then realization hit. She whipped around.
"He's gone... No way!"
"That idiot is...!"
Her worldview shattered. Disbelief plastered across her face. Him? Him him him... How does this make sense?
"You're kidding me!"
Unit-02 escaped the Angel's maw. But she couldn't move. Completely stunned.
The giant holding the jaws open glanced at her. Nodded.
"Asuka, get back to the surface. Regroup with Unit-00. I've got this." Shinji's voice echoed in her mind.
It really is him!
"Ah... okay... yeah." Asuka's reply came dazed.
The carrier pulled Unit-02 farther away.
"Now then—let's show them what we've got, Natsuki-san!" Shinji's voice burned with energy.
"Let's do it!" Natsuki responded.
Asuka watched. The giant's arms flexed. Forced the jaws fully open. Pulled back. Escaped the bite range.
The Fish Angel tried clamping down again. Its steel-like teeth shattered against the giant's body. Fragments broke off.
ROAR!
In the murky depths, the Fish Angel howled. Pain. The water trembled.
The giant landed in the submerged city below. Combat stance. The Fish Angel glared down. Eyes vicious. Locked on.
Prepared to attack.
Sensed something.
ROAR!
ROAR!
The Womb Angel arrived. Two Angels met. Instinct screamed—fight each other.
Only one can fuse with Adam. We're competitors.
Natural enemies. Meeting means death.
But then. The other presence inside the Womb Angel exerted control. Suppressed the instinct. Swam to the side. Created distance from the Fish Angel. Trapped the giant between them.
"Two Angels... and the giant." Misato frowned at Unit-02's camera feed.
This situation just got way more complicated.
Nothing's going according to plan.
"Asuka, status report. Can you still fight?" Misato asked over comms.
"I can... but." Asuka hesitated. "How do I even explain this?"
Should I report what just happened?
Then Shinji's voice echoed again in her mind.
"Ah, never mind." She corrected herself.
"Move the carrier to my six o'clock. Unit-02 can continue combat."
I've heard about the giant. It killed two Angels. But facing two simultaneously? Might be risky.
I'm rejoining the fight.
Battlefield. Submerged city.
"Ultraman..." The consciousness possessing the Womb Angel stared at the red-and-silver giant. Thinking.
"Can someone explain why this thing exists in the EVA world?"
The Ghost Angel—a transmigrator—couldn't comprehend why Ultraman wasn't fighting kaiju and had instead come to EVA's world to fight Angels.
What trash matchmaking system!
Two of the previous three Angels got killed by Ultraman. The third got sliced by the Eight-Point Light Wheel. Also Ultraman-related.
What's the meaning? Targeting me specifically?

Body bigger than a carrier. Surged through the water. Incredible speed. Current dragged along. The city below crumbled in the wake.
Jaws opened wide. Ready to swallow the giant whole.
Size difference—massive. But as the Fish Angel closed in, the giant simply cocked back a fist. Swung upward.
BOOM.
The punch carved a cavitation bubble through the water. Connected with the Angel's jaw. Launched it skyward. AT Field shattered instantly.
SPLASH!
The massive body broke the surface. Airborne. Water sprayed everywhere.
"What the...!" The old captain's eyes went wide.
"This is... the giant's power you mentioned?"
Angels shattered my worldview. Now the world's punching me in the face again.
The Angel we couldn't touch just got uppercut from the ocean floor to the surface?
"No way..." Asuka finally processed it. NERV's reports didn't mention this detail. The giant has overwhelming power against Angels.
And the giant's true identity—the pilot of EVA Unit-01.
The person I swore I'd surpass.
"With power like that... what's even the point of EVAs?" The proud girl's confidence cracked.
If this giant exists, are EVAs even needed?
If EVAs aren't needed... then what's my purpose?
