"Pull the line back!"
"They've entered the city!"
"What's the evacuation status?"
"Citizens are still evacuating. Only the seven-kilometer radius is clear—that's our last combat zone."
"Shit!"
Their weapons had taken out a few Kaiju-transformed unmanned Jaegers, but did little against those Category IV Kaiju. Larger-scale weapons couldn't be used at a time like this.
The military line kept retreating. The front was chaos, and behind them citizens evacuated slowly. Every passing second made things worse.
"Wait... Sir!"
"Look at the sky!"
Suddenly, a soldier pointed skyward and shouted.
The frontline commander instinctively looked up and saw a massive figure flying toward them.
"What is that?" The commander frowned at the red-and-silver giant.
"This is Los Angeles defense front. A humanoid giant has appeared in the sky ahead of our line, advancing toward our position!" He immediately reported through comms to his superiors.
Its appearance made him instinctively feel it wasn't a Kaiju.
"Don't worry. It's not hostile." Their superiors had already received relevant information. "Pull your line back. Your next task is to assist this giant in eliminating the Kaiju."
"Assist...?"
"Copy that!"
The commander guessed it might be some kind of Jaeger-like creation. Their higher-ups had apparently been secretly developing black tech again.
He quickly relayed the orders, then grabbed binoculars from inside an armored vehicle, wanting to observe the giant more carefully.
"THOOM!"
The long-limbed giant reached the battlefield in an instant, descending from the sky to land among the Kaiju at the city's edge. Weighing nearly twenty times more than the Kaiju, the giant's landing brought violent tremors to the ground.
The impact swept the rubble at the landing point into a shallow crater. The nearest Kaiju was even flipped onto its back. Surrounding flames were blown aside by the air pressure, nearly extinguished.
"Holy crap..."
Seeing this, the commander instantly realized this giant was absolutely not mechanical—worlds apart from Jaegers.
"A... giant?"
"I remember my sister mentioned..." Jack Pentecost in the distant school bus suddenly recalled his phone conversation with his sister Mako Mori. She'd said something about receiving great help from this giant, along with their father.
Thinking this, he left his seat and ran to the back of the bus, gazing through the window at the bright-eyed giant in the distance.
"What is that?"
"He looks really powerful." Several classmates noticed his movement and looked back too, discovering the giant standing among the Kaiju.
For some reason, though they'd been filled with fear moments ago, the instant they saw the giant, they felt reassured.
The gloom in their hearts rapidly dispersed the moment the giant appeared.
Citizens evacuating throughout the city also noticed the giant. Some stopped and looked toward the distance.
They saw a Kaiju leap up, pouncing toward the giant.
"ROAR!"
The Kaiju's body was larger than the giant's. Its flying tackle carried tremendous pressure, saliva spraying from its gaping maw as it moved, about to tear the giant's body to shreds.
But the giant simply extended one arm. His left hand reached into the Kaiju's maw and grabbed its lower jaw. No matter how hard it bit down, he showed no intention of letting go.
The fifty-three-meter giant single-handedly gripped the ninety-meter Kaiju, forcing it from its pouncing posture down to the ground.
Then the giant's right hand formed a fist as he turned the Kaiju toward an empty direction.
"Roar..." The Kaiju looked at the giant's bright eyes and smelled danger. The opponent's hand still gripped its jaw. It struggled to break free but found the opponent's strength far exceeded imagination.
The next second—
"BOOM!!"
With a massive sound, powerful impact force spread outward. The Kaiju's huge body instantly flew into the distance like a cannonball, torn to pieces!
The aftershock lifted building debris and abandoned vehicles from the surrounding ground!
"Thud."
The giant tossed the Kaiju's head aside. It rolled several times on the ground.
"One punch..."
"He eliminated a Kaiju with just his fist..." The commander watching through binoculars opened his mouth slightly, his throat dry, completely unable to believe what he'd seen.
As a soldier who'd fought Kaiju before, he knew their terror intimately—creatures absolutely beyond ordinary weapons.
But now he'd just watched a giant explode a Kaiju with one punch!?
"WTF!?"
"One-shot kill!"
"Holy shit!"
"So cool!"
The children in the school bus saw the giant explode the Kaiju that had terrified them with one punch. They all shouted excitedly, crowding to the back of the bus, completely focused on the giant's every move.
One Kaiju eliminated, another pounced. The Kaiju-transformed unmanned Jaegers followed close behind.
"ROAR!"
"BOOM!!"
Another punch. The Kaiju that had just pounced flew skyward, arcing toward the mountains opposite the city.
Then the giant's movements didn't pause at all.
He grabbed a Kaiju-transformed unmanned Jaeger. His hand became a blade, instantly piercing its frame, tearing apart the Kaiju brain inside along with the entire body!
Tossing the torn halves aside, he lifted his foot in a straight kick.
"BOOM!!"
Another Kaiju's body shattered, flying into the distance with no sign of stopping.
"ROAR!"
Two Kaiju attacked simultaneously from both sides.
The giant extended both hands, piercing their skin, gripping their bones, holding tight.
Then using their incoming momentum, he twisted and slammed them hard into the ground!
"THOOM!!"
Incomprehensible force applied to the Kaiju, then transmitted to the ground. After a massive sound came intense tremors!
The military's armored vehicles in the distance bounced from the impact. Building debris around the giant shot skyward. All organs inside the Kaiju bodies shattered—only their tough skin prevented blood from spilling everywhere.
The ground beneath his feet cracked in a spiderweb pattern from this strike!
Any Kaiju attempting close combat died instantly without exception!
Watching this, the military commander instinctively swallowed. "My God..."
His superior had told him to coordinate with the giant to eliminate Kaiju.
But now he just wanted to say—where's our opening to help!?
He suspected some mythological deity had manifested.
Though such violent scenes were incredibly satisfying for these people who'd lost loved ones to Kaiju, who'd been displaced by Kaiju.
They even wanted to say... increase the intensity.
