Chapter 352 - Obtaining the Genetic Modulation Map

His brain sensed something was amiss, but he wasn't built for combat. Reflexively, he looked back, only to see an iron fist gradually expanding before his eyes. Then, his vision went black, and he saw nothing more!

"Tsk tsk..." Thea shook her hand. This guy was ridiculously weak. The flaws of genetic modulation were too obvious. Faora could take a hundred punches of this magnitude without changing her expression, but this big-nosed Kryptonian scientist was laid out with a single punch. The difference was ridiculous.

Next, Thea set her hands lightly on either side of the Kryptonian scientist's head and began to use her tweaked version of Martian telepathy to read his thoughts.

This scientist might have a keen mind and be a good hand at research, but his willpower was even worse than Faora's. All his memories were arranged neatly, waiting for outsiders to come and read them. Thea unceremoniously learned the operation method of the main console.

Restricted by the rule that technological planets must not develop artificial intelligence, Kryptonians skirted that rule by creating a pseudo-AI. It had no logical thinking capabilities and would only execute commands. Thea took out the communication interface of her power armor, used the Kryptonian scientist's authority to shut down the ship's pseudo-AI, and plugged her own Gideon into the Kryptonian system.

"Scan and copy all their data," Thea commanded.

Receiving the order, Gideon quickly began transferring files. A massive amount of data started entering the storage of the power armor.

"Who are you!"

Despite the precautions, the backup of certain data triggered a low hum from the ship's alarms less than two minutes into the transmission.

The tall Guard Captain (Nam-Ek), who had been beaten half to death by Superman earlier, heard the ship's alarm and ran over hurriedly. But seeing Thea, an outsider, he was obviously a bit confused.

Only Zod and Faora had seen Thea's Yellow Lantern attire before, and both of them were currently unconscious.

During the battle on Earth, the other Kryptonians had seen her through monitors, but she was wearing her power armor then. In other words, her Lantern Ring outfit was a new image in the eyes of these Kryptonians.

"What are you doing?" The tall Guard Captain asked again when she didn't reply. In less than thirty seconds, the remaining few people on the ship also arrived at the main control room.

They had lived on this ship for thirty years, bored enough to almost name the microbes on board. Now that someone like Thea had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, they were all at a loss for a moment.

Krypton was a planet with a strict hierarchy. The few Kryptonians automatically looked at the Guard Captain, who held the highest military rank present, waiting for him to make a decision.

Unfortunately, the Guard Captain was a fierce general for charging into battle. If Zod or Faora were here, they would have gone up to fight immediately. But his mindset was still stuck at 'take orders and follow them'. Being forced to make a decision suddenly, he was completely bewildered.

Thea didn't know about his hesitation, but she didn't mind stalling for time. For a moment, the room fell silent; only the shrill alarms from the main console echoed through the ship.

"Seize her!" The Guard Captain finally issued an order.

Calling it an 'order' was almost funny—there were barely ten people on the whole ship, officers included.

Zod and the big-nosed scientist were unconscious. Faora was countless light-years away. Subtracting a non-combatant researcher, a ship repairman, and the medical personnel still watching over Zod...

The Kryptonian Guard Captain rushed up aggressively with three subordinates. Thea was too close to the console, so they didn't dare use laser weapons. They prepared to rely on skilled combat techniques to capture Thea and ask who exactly she was.

Thea was also waiting for the data transmission to complete. A contest of fists and feet suited her perfectly. She flung her hand out, casting her Chosen One Talent: "Eternal Night." Except for Faora who was far away on the horizon, every single one of these guys was male. This suppressed their overall strength by 30%.

Then, she materialized a shrunken version of Ares. Holding a spear, the construct engaged them in battle.

Here in outer space, she didn't need to worry about Diana's feelings. The Ares she constructed had the same appearance as the god himself: horned helmet, half-plate armor, leather war-skirt, Roman sandals, his whole body wreathed in battle intent—daring anyone to get close.

"The first one!" A low voice spat from the construct's mouth. The few Kryptonians underestimated the enemy a bit. Coupled with being suppressed by Thea's talent, the materialized Ares quickly found a flaw. His arms suddenly exerted force, ignoring their armor, and speared a Kryptonian through. Then, with a loud shout, he flung this unlucky guy far away.

The force of this throw was so great that the Kryptonian collided violently with the ship's hull. With a muffled bang, a visible dent appeared on the cabin wall, and several circuits were obviously damaged. The alarms began to ring frantically like they had gone mad.

Thea didn't look at her battle results. If that hit had landed on an ordinary person, they would be dead! It was hard to say if a Kryptonian would die, but their combat power wouldn't recover for a while.

The construct Ares let out an earth-shaking roar, dodging the Guard Captain's giant axe. At the same time, the spear turned horizontally, blocking the longswords of two Kryptonian soldiers.

The coordination of the three was truly good. When the Guard Captain attacked, the other two defended with telepathic-like synergy, and vice versa. Their combat skills weren't as complex as Earth's, but they won in simplicity. Thea switched through several sets of martial arts without breaking their defense. Trading injury for injury, she stabbed through a guard's arm, but the construct itself was also hacked by the Guard Captain's axe.

These guys really have good martial arts!

Refilling the Yellow Energy, the materialized Ares looked brand new again, making the three of them stare in disbelief. Can this thing be killed? This question instantly flooded the minds of the Kryptonian soldiers.

Just as they wanted to continue their rush attack, Thea threw out a construct chain, binding a Kryptonian soldier who had jumped into the air. The moment he landed, she raised a foot and kicked him in the lower abdomen, sending him flying toward the other two enemies.

The two hurriedly put away their weapons and busily went to catch their companion.

Fighting for this long, Thea could see that the emotional bond between these Kryptonians was quite good. She only wanted to stall for time to copy data, not to kill enemies. What Thea valued had always been knowledge. This ship was modified from a Kryptonian prison, cobbled together over thirty years; there were countless ships in the universe more advanced than this one.

Immediately, she materialized Diana's Lasso, lassoing the two non-combatants who'd been standing on the sidelines watching. With a flick of her wrist, she smashed them toward the Guard Captain.

"They are not combat personnel!" The Guard Captain roared furiously as he went to catch people again.

Thea didn't care if they were combatants or not. The materialized lasso seemed to come alive, binding the previously heavily injured Kryptonian soldier tightly again.

Playing the full-on villain, she hooked an arm around the wounded soldier's neck. "Don't come over! If you come over, I'll kill him!"

The Guard Captain obviously hadn't watched similar TV dramas. He was so angry his lips trembled, repeating back and forth those few sentences: "You have no warrior's honor!" "If you have any skill, fight me instead!"
