A native deity?
Slade received this information from the ring. If it were yesterday, he wouldn't have believed in such weird things, but now Slade believed it entirely! He could fly now, so what was the big deal about a dozen petty gods? As long as the money was right, he'd dare to stab a god twice. The mission wasn't difficult, so he agreed immediately.
Ending the call with Slade, Thea returned to the management company to focus on Grodd's daily life.
The originally small gorilla, Grodd, had begun to show signs of abnormality after several inhumane military experiments. Caitlin Snow had been getting hot and heavy with Ronnie Raymond recently; their relationship had progressed from holding hands to cohabitation in less than a month. Although distracted by romance, as the direct caretaker of these animals, she still noticed the strange changes and reported them.
The Reverse-Flash, disguised as Dr. Harrison Wells, had come to observe Grodd's condition for three consecutive days. Thea knew her opportunity was about to arrive.
The person in charge of the gorilla project was General Wade Eiling. Although he held the title of General, he was actually just a Brigadier General. The authoritative figures in the Department of Defense hadn't told him about Thea's true strength, and he didn't know it either. Initially curious about why a billionaire was running around here, he checked and found nothing suspicious, so he let the matter slide.
At this moment, he was in a heated argument with the Reverse-Flash.
"Harrison, we have an agreement. Do you intend to defy the Department of Defense's orders? You should know that your research funding is in our hands." General Wade Eiling fully embodied the standard image of a villain: gloomy, rigid, and inhumane, all written across his large face.
The Reverse-Flash, originally a time traveler who had honed his skills for fifteen years in this timeline, possessed acting skills that could only be described as peak perfection. At this moment, his acting went into overdrive. His refined, scholarly face was slightly distorted by anger, yet it didn't make him look evil; instead, that air of righteous indignation made him invisibly compelling.
"Shut up! I will absolutely not allow you to conduct cruel animal experiments anymore! Wade Eiling, you are blaspheming science and trampling on humanity!"
The Reverse-Flash was furious, slamming the table and shouting loudly. An uninformed outsider would have thought he had been kept in the dark about this experiment the whole time.
How could Wade Eiling know about the twisted schemes in Wells' head? He hadn't discovered Grodd as a special case; his subordinates had merely reported fluctuations in the experimental data, leading to today's trip to S.T.A.R. Labs. Seeing the Reverse-Flash being uncooperative, he couldn't be bothered to waste words. With a wave of his hand, he commanded his soldiers to take all the test subjects away to study them at their leisure.
"You dare!" The Reverse-Flash reached out to pull the soldiers back, putting his heart and soul into playing the role of a powerless intellectual standing up to brutal grunts.
The soldiers didn't dare get rough with him; one grabbed each arm, restraining him from moving.
"Let me go! You inhumane bastards!..." If his Speed Force were still accessible, let alone two men, even two thousand couldn't stop him. But now, even if he had the Speed Force, he couldn't expose it in plain sight. Sensing that many gazes in the laboratory were focused here, he acted even more vigorously, shouting until his voice went hoarse.
"The old guy is a really good actor... tsk, tsk..." Thea sighed in admiration. Having nothing else to do, she naturally followed the crowd to watch the show. The old guy played the image of a scholar with a conscience seamlessly; he probably even believed it himself!
General Wade Eiling led the soldiers to the side of the laboratory and ordered them to go in and seize all the experimental animals. The soldiers were highly disciplined and marched in as a unit, but not long after, the sound of intense gunfire erupted from inside.
"What's going on?" General Wade Eiling immediately found cover to hide behind and ordered his adjutant to check the situation.
The adjutant's entry didn't change the chaos. While the researchers watching from the outside were discussing what was happening, a loud bang was heard. The northwest corner of the enclosure was blown open by a grenade, and soldiers and gorillas ran out in a chaotic mess.
What is happening? Wade Eiling was dumbfounded.
Only Thea smirked to herself. The Reverse-Flash was truly a talent. He had actually used hypnosis to implant a concept similar to 'friend and father' into Grodd's subconscious. To avoid alerting him, Thea hadn't erased this information. Just now, it was Thawne who secretly gave Grodd the signal to mind-control those soldiers and create chaos.
Let it be chaotic. The more chaotic, the better!
Thea had summoned a clone early on to create an alibi. Currently, the clone was chatting away with Caitlin, Ronnie, and a large group of people.
Her main body cast an Invisibility Spell and navigated through the twists and turns to a corridor in the laboratory.
She released her psychic power to scan carefully and soon found the clue. "It's right here!"
She applied the Reverse-Flash's fingerprints to the five fingers of her right hand, aligned them with the blank wall, and swiped. The hidden door opened instantly.
"Miss Thea Queen, you do not have permission to enter this area." A light blue head was projected into the room. It was the artificial intelligence, Gideon. Its appearance was similar to what Thea had seen on the Waverider, but its tone was very rigid and mechanical.
The permission it referred to was, of course, the local laboratory access at this time and place. Thea smiled and said, "Gideon, it's been a long time. You're mistaken; I do have permission!"
She then recited a long string of passwords—the Primal Login Codes she had obtained from the Time Masters Council back then.
Gideon seemed to freeze. Thea stared at it nervously. It wasn't until three minutes later that an even more mechanical voice spoke.
"Please complete the authority record. Recording of the authorized user's fingerprints, pupils, blood, and DNA information is required."
Thea raced against time, quickly inputting her information according to the prompts. It took recording over ten different items to complete the step.
The mechanical sound disappeared, and the slightly more natural-sounding Gideon returned. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
"I want to see your permission list." Thea originally intended to grab the source code and leave, but the mechanical voice just now made her realize that perhaps the Reverse-Flash's authority wasn't that high. This suspicion had no logical basis, but that was just what she thought.
"Affirmative." The artificial intelligence answered readily, and a very long list was displayed in front of Thea.
"Ha! I knew it!" Thea saw her own name listed at the very top as the First Authority. As for the Reverse-Flash's real name, Eobard Thawne, it was ranked twelfth.
However, Thea's eyebrows immediately furrowed because she saw Barry Allen's name. He was ranked fourth.
"Gideon, who exactly is your creator?" Thea had been curious about this question for a long time.
"I was designed by Barry Allen and successfully developed after the efforts of several generations of the Allen and Thawne families," Gideon narrated without a trace of emotion, as if the story had nothing to do with it.
