The traditional method would be to neutralize her with a massive amount of light-attribute mana, or burn her with fire-attribute mana. Of course, changing the battlefield to somewhere else would also work.
Thea could do all of these, but she was helping out purely as a volunteer today. There was a huge pile of matters waiting for her at the Group; she really didn't want to go through the trouble of fighting a war of attrition.
Her doppelganger flicked her hand, sending three beams of light to force the Enchantress back. The main body took out a pitch-black, sci-fi-looking weapon from the spatial ring.
This was the latest developed, era-defining Freeze Gun, combining the technologies of Captain Cold and Mr. Freeze! If Cisco Ramon's design three years later in the original timeline was Version 1.0, and Captain Cold's modification was Version 2.0, then what Thea held in her hand now was Version 3.0!
Cisco Ramon had made a huge contribution to the manufacturing principles of this gun. Conservatively speaking, this gun was at least thirty years ahead of the current era.
Bang, bang—the shots rang out. Under the Enchantress's confused gaze, Thea constantly pulled the trigger. The freezing gas, approaching absolute zero, didn't care about magic or zombies—it froze everything alike.
The Enchantress tried to break free from the ice block several times, but regrettably, her body didn't possess that much strength. Her magic was also of a darker attribute, skilled in corrosion and permeation; unfreezing herself from this giant block of ice was simply beyond her capabilities.
Added to her sluggish thinking, Thea didn't intend to waste breath on her at all. She thoroughly coated her in freezing mist, layer after layer, ensuring she was frozen solid.
Putting away the doppelganger and the Lantern Ring, she observed her battle results. The effect was truly not bad. This was the formidable point of technological weapons. Captain Cold, an ordinary person, repeatedly toyed with The Flash. Although it was inseparable from his high IQ, this gun also contributed significantly.
"Hoo." Thea breathed out a mouthful of cold air. She had practically frozen the entire room solid, making it very uncomfortable to stay in. She ran out of the room in two or three steps, running head-on into Lyla, who was coming to support her.
"Where's the enemy?" Lyla craned her neck to look behind Thea. Her first reaction was that Thea had been defeated and was running away! Should she run with her or split up?
She didn't feel it during the fight, but after it was over, it was truly cold. Captain Cold wearing a down jacket all year round made sense.
She pointed behind her. "Remember Killer Croc from that day? It's about the same as that. Frozen by me."
Lyla also felt the biting chill at this moment. Recalling the scene when they first met, she nodded, seemingly understanding but not quite. She waved her hand, signaling the people behind her. "You guys go take a look."
"The temperature inside is very low; don't make skin contact." She gave a warning—whether they listened or not was up to them—and ran toward the elevator alone.
Halfway there, Thea suddenly realized something... where was that female doctor who was treated as a mental patient? She was probably still tied to the hospital bed. Was she frozen too? They were strangers, so she could only blame her bad luck. Hopefully, heaven would help the worthy.
After drinking two cups of hot coffee in the surface facility, she finally didn't feel so cold. Cisco Ramon's design concept for this gun was brilliant, but the demands it placed on the user were far too high.
Even with Thea's tough physique, she was shivering. It was hard to imagine how much pain Captain Cold, an ordinary person, had to endure. His initial goal was just to toy with The Flash; enduring this bitterly, he probably did serious damage to his own genetic code. One had to say, he was truly a tough man.
Just as she was pondering whether to fly back herself or let them drive her, Lyla ran over, out of breath, and grabbed her. "What's that thing you froze? Please help me explain it in detail, otherwise, I can't give a good account to Amanda."
"Ah... alright. I saw a part of that entity's memory. She was born in a small West African village about six hundred years ago and obtained the hidden inheritance of Voodoo, which was prevalent at the time. The locals called her the Enchantress. Afterward, there is a large gap in her memory. When she regained consciousness, she was already in Peru, across the Atlantic. Whether there was transport by early colonists in between is unknown. The final memory is of your careless doctor destroying her slumbering place. That's about the situation..."
Seeing Lyla's dizzy look, Thea was also quite frustrated. She originally thought she was just helping out with a small favor. Who knew it would drag out such a huge pile of things? In the original plot, Amanda could think of using that heart to control the Enchantress, but now, if nothing unexpected happened, the female doctor host had been frozen to death by her. Thea was afraid of trouble, so she didn't ask. Whether the plot would follow the same direction afterward, she didn't know, nor did she care.
She waved goodbye to Lyla, leaving her there to ponder hard on how to write this report. Thea didn't wait for them to drive her; she flew directly back to Star City.
She originally thought Amanda would visit the next day, but she didn't wait for the dark-skinned woman. Instead, a certain brat arrived.
Damian Wayne, with a face full of childishness but a very serious expression, handed Thea a long package. "The sword you wanted."
Thea untied the package. The sword handle and scabbard were one and a half meters long and twenty-five centimeters wide. The entire piece was extremely heavy. The scabbard was carved with magic runes in a language even Thea couldn't name.
Thea didn't easily reach out to touch the hilt. She needed to observe it carefully. The hilt was golden yellow. The pommel was a ferocious demon skull; its arms wrapped around to form the interlaced pattern on the hilt, and then the demon's hands clasped together to form the guard.
After using several methods to test it, she didn't sense any traps on the sword. Afterward, Thea summoned a light ball to roam around the longsword a few times, but still found no anomalies.
"You're too careful!" Even if Damian Wayne was foolish, he knew what she was doing. He couldn't help but mock her.
Thea was too lazy to waste breath on a brat. Under his shocked gaze, she separated a doppelganger and instructed her to take the sword.
Clang—
With a crisp sound, the entire blade was drawn. The doppelganger and the main body exchanged information telepathically. Only after confirming it was safe did Thea take the precious sword and examine it carefully.
"Truly a good sword!" Excluding the hilt, the blade was over a meter long and twelve centimeters wide. It was unknown what material it was made of; the blade presented a pale white color. A person with a normal mind would associate it with the color of skeletal remains at first glance. One could vaguely hear the wailing of countless dead souls on the blade.
Right in the middle of the blade was a crimson blood groove, invisible to ordinary people but observable by Thea using the Eye of Horus.
But before she could observe it carefully, she felt a mysterious suction force from the blood groove, actually sucking a small part of her gaze in. Thea hurriedly turned her head away.
She swung it casually a few times. "Seems a bit light..." Just as Thea had this feeling, the sword seemed to perceive her strength. Its own weight began to gradually increase until it matched her strength.
Without a doubt, this was a divine artifact, or rather, a demonic artifact! Thea's own Godslayer and Diana's Sword of Hephaestus were both divine artifacts. The essence of the three swords was about the same, but their auras were completely distinct.
