Chapter 248: Paw-Paw Raid!
The smoke dispersed slowly, flames still burning on the battlefield, the air filled with scorching ash.
Ace crossed his hands, flames dancing and coiling like snakes at his fingertips, illuminating his slightly weary face from the battle.
He looked up, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly with a confident smile. "Hmph... looks like I won."
In the air, the spiraling giant pink dragon shrank slowly. Scales dissipated like flowing light, and Luffy gradually returned to human form. Just when everyone thought the battle was over and the dust had settled—
Luffy's pupils contracted abruptly mid-freefall, as if seeing some unimaginable threat!
"Sanji! DODGE!!!"
A roar like thunder tore through the battlefield!
Sanji's hand, just reaching to light a cigarette, trembled violently. Before he could turn his head, a terrifying pressure came from behind!
He turned his head subconsciously, catching a glimpse of a massive palm covered with paw pads in his peripheral vision. Carrying a silent aura of death, it descended quietly like a shadow!
"SANJI!!!"
The exclamations of Nami and Usopp rang out almost simultaneously, both lunging forward trying to push him away.
"POP!"
The giant paw pad swiped through the air, leaving a blurry afterimage. Accompanied by an eerie low humming sound, Sanji's figure vanished instantly from his spot, a distorted ripple slapped into the air where he stood.
"SANJIIII—!!!" Nami screamed.
"DAMMIT!!!" Luffy's rage boiled over instantly. With a wild roar, his body exploded with power, pink dragon scales covering his whole body again!
He roared at the sky, claws wrapped in Armament Haki, pouncing furiously at that massive figure.
"GIVE SANJI BACK!"
Kuma's face was expressionless. He raised his other palm, aiming at the pouncing Luffy—
"PRESSURE CANNON!"
"BOOM!!!"
The air was compressed into a massive cannonball, blasting toward the lunging Luffy at a speed barely visible to the naked eye!
The shockwave kicked up a massive sandstorm across the battlefield. Luffy was sent flying backward, several mangrove trees sliced clean in half!
Nami and Usopp stood back-to-back, cold sweat sliding down their foreheads. Nami gripped her Clima-Tact tightly. "Where... where did Sanji go?!"
Usopp looked panic-stricken but tried to suppress his fear. "I... I didn't see either! He just disappeared directly!"
"Don't think about that now!"
Nami locked her gaze ahead. "This monster... even suppressed Luffy. We have to find a way to protect ourselves!"
Kuma turned his head slowly, casting his dead silent gaze toward Nami and Usopp.
That giant palm raised again, the air twisting with it.
"PRESSURE CANNON!"
"BOOM!!!"
Usopp threw himself onto Nami violently, both rolling on the ground. The air cannon grazed the tops of their heads, smashing the rocks behind them with a boom, erupting with a terrifying shockwave.
"This guy... is too strong!" Usopp broke out in a cold sweat.
On the other end of the battlefield.
Luffy roared as he charged out of the explosion smoke, Armament Haki dragon claws emitting scorching pink light, aiming straight for Kuma's neck!
"GIVE SANJI... BACK!!!"
Kuma merely turned sideways lightly, dodging the fatal blow, and delivered a backhand paw strike to Luffy's abdomen.
"PAW-PAW STRIKE: MICRO!"
"BANG!!!"
Luffy's body flew out like a cannonball, smashing through several mangrove trees in succession. Spraying blood mist from his mouth, he crashed heavily to the ground, dirt exploding everywhere.
"Cough... bastard..." Luffy forced himself to stand, eyes locked deathly on that massive figure.
Seeing this in the distance, Ace burned with rage. Flames erupted beneath his feet as he stomped the ground, soaring into the sky like a flame meteor, diving straight for Kuma.
"LUFFY!!!"
His roar echoed over the battlefield. Flames rolled like a tsunami, illuminating the ruins ravaged by battle.
Just then—
"VROOM!!!"
An indescribable pressure descended abruptly!
Conqueror's Haki smashed onto Ace's spirit like a violent tsunami, shaking his heart and stagnating his breath instantly!
"Wh... What?!!"
His flame form lost control instantly and was forcibly dispersed. Ace fell heavily back to the ground as if hit by a heavy hammer, dragging out a scorched trail several meters long!
Before he could recover, six sharp cold lights attacked with ear-piercing whistles!
"SWISH! SWISH! SWISH—!"
Six blade lights lunged at his face like shark teeth!
"FISH-MAN KARATE: SHARK SKIN SLASH!!!"
Hatchan (Hachi) swung all six arms. Cold light wove into a net of death, carrying years of accumulated anger and hatred, slashing straight at Ace's neck!
"Arlong... Chew... Kuroobi... I'm here to avenge you!!!"
Blood-red flames burned in Hachi's eyes, every slash carrying killing intent that seemed to tear heaven and earth apart.
Just as the blades were an inch from Ace's throat,
"WHO DO YOU THINK I AM?!!"
Ace roared violently, eyes erupting with dark red Haki light!
"BOOM!!!"
Conqueror's Haki erupted from his body like a volcanic explosion. Airwaves swept the surroundings, so intense that spiderweb-like cracks appeared on the ground!
Hachi's six swords were blown away simultaneously by the Haki impact, clattering to the ground!
The entire octopus was lifted by the invisible pressure, tumbling dozens of times in the air before smashing heavily onto the ground, six arms trembling uncontrollably!
"Wh... What?!!" Hachi struggled to get up, face pale, eyes filled with terror and unwillingness.
Ace stood up slowly, flames re-condensing on his right arm, burning fiercely.
"Want to cut me? You're still far from ready!!!"
"FIRE FIST!!!"
Flames roared, the fiery fist aiming straight for Hachi's face—
Hachi closed his eyes in despair, wailing internally: "I'm sorry, Arlong... I couldn't succeed..."
"Sigh..."
A helpless sigh rang out.
"SWISH!!!"
Cold light flashed. A saber shadow sliced through like a crescent moon, accurately splitting Ace's Fire Fist.
The scorching flames split instantly into two streams of fire, whistling past both sides of Hachi, exploding in the scorched earth meters away!
Ace paused slightly, looking up to see Rayleigh holding a saber, standing quietly in front of Hachi. The eyes behind his glasses were complex and heavy.
"You're intervening?"
Rayleigh shook his head. "I just don't want to see meaningless slaughter."
He glanced sideways at Hachi, who was slumped on the ground, and said softly, "Enough, Hachi."
Hachi trembled all over, tears mixing with sweat and blood dripping down. Six arms clutched his head tightly:
"I'm sorry... I'm too weak... I couldn't even... get revenge..."
Ace stared at the two for a moment, then as if thinking of something, he laughed coldly. "Look out for yourselves!"
Flames jetted from his legs, turning into a line of fire speeding towards the direction where Luffy and Kuma were fighting, ignoring the two.
On the other side, Kuma's figure was like an immovable high wall, still suppressing Luffy's hybrid form inch by inch with "Paw-Paw Impacts"!
"BANG!!!"
Another Pressure Cannon hit Luffy's abdomen. He spat a mouthful of blood, kneeling on one knee, dragon scales shattered, breath ragged.
"LUFFY!!!" Nami and Usopp shouted anxiously, but were suppressed by Kuma's terrifying aura, unable to step forward.
Ace's flame figure fell like a meteor, roar shaking the battlefield:
"FIRE FIST!!!"
The flame hit Kuma's back, but Kuma waved his hand back—
"PAW-PAW REFLECT!"
"BOOM!!!"
The flame was gently patted by the paw pad and reflected directly back!
Ace was nearly swallowed by his own exploding flame, rolling on the ground in the shockwave!
He gritted his teeth, staring deathly at that massive and silent figure:
"Damn it! This guy... what kind of monster is he?!!"
