Chapter 145 - Chapter 145: Curtain Call on the Deserted Island

Chapter 145: Curtain Call on the Deserted Island

The arrival of Kizaru was like a bolt of golden lightning, interrupting the three-way standoff between the Emperors before it could truly explode.

His lazy, mocking drawl sounded jarring on the deadly battlefield. "How scaaaary~"

The atmosphere, taut as a bowstring, suddenly froze.

Whitebeard and Shanks darkened their expressions simultaneously, clearly not expecting a Marine Admiral to interfere at this moment.

Roy, though still maintaining a cold demeanor, let out a small, almost imperceptible sigh of relief.

—Although he could have teleported away at any time, Kizaru's appearance gave him much better leverage.

He turned slowly, sweeping a cold gaze over Whitebeard and Shanks. His fighting spirit didn't diminish; instead, his Conqueror's Haki surged again, unabashedly displaying his intent to fight!

Whitebeard and Shanks bristled instantly!

"This brat... he still dares to provoke us?!!"

Kizaru, sensing Roy's lingering battle lust, didn't change his expression. Instead, the corner of his mouth ticked up. In a flash of light, he landed lightly beside Roy, standing shoulder to shoulder with him.

"So scary~ Since our young Marine friend is seeing red, maybe this old man should join in for a round?"

He shrugged, hands in his pockets, looking relaxed but exuding immense pressure.

Shanks' eyes flickered, glancing between Kizaru and Roy. Finally, he slowly sheathed his sword, his voice low but commanding. "Roy, that's enough."

"Fighting further benefits no one!"

However, Roy responded coldly, his tone unhurried. "Who says—it benefits no one?"

Before the words faded, his gaze shot past the two Emperors, landing squarely on the Moby Dick in the distance.

On the ship, Marco, Jozu, Vista, and the others felt a sudden chill, as if locked onto by a primordial beast. Their faces paled instantly!

"Bad—!"

"This guy... he wants to attack us?!!"

Seeing this, Whitebeard's brow twitched violently, fury igniting in his chest!

"ROY—!!!"

He roared, shaking the sky. Conqueror's Haki and the power of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit exploded together, shaking the ground and collapsing the air!

"DROP THAT THOUGHT!!!"

He took a step forward, roaring like a lion king, his Conqueror's Haki sweeping the field!

But Roy remained unmoved. His tone was indifferent, his gaze deep as an abyss. "Whitebeard... how much longer can you... protect them?"

That sentence pierced Whitebeard's heart like a cold knife.

His body shook slightly, his fingers clenching involuntarily.

"...Yes."

"I have... grown old."

A trace of pain and self-mockery flashed across Whitebeard's face.

But just as Whitebeard wavered—

Shanks looked sharply to the side, his voice heavy. "Roy! Do you want to gamble the future of the new generation?!!"

"Take the wrong step here, and there's no turning back!!!"

Kizaru sighed leisurely, golden light gathering at his fingertips. "So scary~ Shanks, aren't you talking a bit too much?"

The atmosphere solidified again, as if a more violent conflict would erupt in the next second!

Three waves of Conqueror's Haki still clashed in the air, but they hovered at a critical line.

Finally—

Whitebeard exhaled heavily, suppressing the rage boiling inside him, slowly withdrawing his aura.

"There's no benefit in continuing this fight... it will only drag my sons into meaningless sacrifice."

He turned back toward the Moby Dick, his voice commanding. "—Retreat!"

"Pops..."

Marco looked conflicted, but in the end, he could only obey.

"Adjust course! Retreat from the battlefield!"

The Moby Dick turned heavily, slowly sailing away from the war zone.

Shanks didn't insist on staying either. With a flicker, he leaped back onto the Red Force, his red hair flying in the night wind.

The oppressive aura of the three Emperors facing off slowly faded under Kizaru's "lazy supervision."

As the curtain fell on the battle, Kizaru watched the pirate ships sail away, then turned to Roy. "Running out of stamina?"

"Letting them go... that's not really your style..."

Roy sighed softly, watching the ships disappear into the distance. His tone was flat. "It's a pity I couldn't kill Kaido completely..."

"That mad dragon... is seriously too tanky."

He shook his head, then smiled at Kizaru. "Besides... if we dragged it out any longer, Uncle, you'd have to fight two against one."

Kizaru's mouth twitched. Light danced around him as he winked. "So scary~ Two against one? This old man hates trouble~"

"But if something happened to you, Fleet Admiral Sengoku and Mr. Garp would probably skin me alive."

They exchanged a smile.

The next second, Roy dissolved into spatial ripples, and Kizaru lifted a foot, flashing into light and vanishing into the night sky.

With the last figure gone, the entire island groaned under the unbearable strain.

Rugged rock peaks collapsed like a dying giant. Massive waves surged from the fissures, swallowing the wreckage of the battlefield into the abyss.

Finally, amidst earth-shattering tremors, the deserted island that had hosted a cataclysmic battle disintegrated completely, turning into countless rocks and foam, sinking forever to the bottom of the sea.

In the northern seas of the New World, the scorched earth of the battlefield hadn't cooled, and the aftershocks still vibrated through the world.

A standoff capable of overturning the "Balance of the World" ended here.

But everyone knew—

This was only the prologue.

Over Ten Nautical Miles Away - Zephyr's Warship - Deck

"SWISH—!"

A streak of golden light fell from the sky, accompanied by a spatial distortion. Kizaru and Roy appeared suddenly on the deck.

Everyone on board jolted, then their faces lit up with joy.

Zephyr, Enel, Kuina, and Law stepped forward almost simultaneously, their taut nerves finally relaxing.

The distant horizon still bore the marks of the battle—black-red lightning woven like a spiderweb across the sky, winds still howling, residual Haki seeming to wander through the air.

Even from over ten miles away, the aftershocks of the battle were heart-palpitating.

Zephyr stared at Roy, scanning him from head to toe. Confirming there were no fatal wounds, he let out a long breath.

"You brat... you really poked a hole in the sky this time."

He shook his head with a bitter smile, but his voice was filled with unconcealable relief and pride.

"Fighting for two whole days and nights. Whitebeard, Kaido, Shanks... all of them showed up."

"Tomorrow's newspapers probably won't have enough space for the headlines of this 'Century Clash'."

He paused, gazing deeply at the horizon still dyed red. "But... you really showed them the spirit of the Marines."

"Although you didn't kill Kaido, that guy probably won't be making waves for a while."

"This battle is enough to shake the entire world."

Roy didn't respond. He simply nodded and walked straight through the crowd to a corner of the deck.

Zoro and Luffy lay there quietly. Their faces still bore residual scars and exhaustion, but their breathing was even, their expressions peaceful.

He crouched slowly, placing a hand lightly on their chests. After sensing for a moment, he looked at Law nearby.

"How are they?"

Law nodded in response. "Don't worry. The injuries are healed, no lingering issues. They're just severely exhausted and need rest."

"A week of quiet recovery should do it."

Roy finally let out a soft breath, his shoulders, tense for so long, slowly sinking.

He stood up, glancing at Kuina, Enel, and Law beside him. "Good work."

Enel rolled his eyes, huffing. "Don't give me that..."

Zephyr walked up, looking at the two unconscious young men, his voice low but gentle. "They did very well!"

"Even facing monster-like enemies, they showed no fear."

"They are children to be proud of!"

He paused, looking at Roy, his eyes holding the firmness only an old soldier possessed. "You raised some good juniors, and you did what you had to do."

Roy stood up, looking at the calm sea under the setting sun. "Yeah..."

In the distance, the sun slowly sank below the horizon, casting a golden-red glow over the sea, as if painting the end of the battle with a final layer of afterglow.

The warship turned quietly, leaving the battlefield of the century behind, heading toward Marineford.

The wind gradually calmed.

The scent of blood and fire finally dissipated.

This battle, though without a death, had completely rewritten the landscape.

Two Emperors shaken, the Marines awed.

The names of the Marine's New Generation were officially carved into the deepest map of the world—

From this day on, no one in this sea could ignore their existence.
