Chapter 632 - Chapter 632: Good News

"What happened? I saw the Prime Minister looking furious just now."

By the time Madam Primpernelle hurried over, she had only just managed to help Marvolio drive some of the reporters away from the ward.

Yes, this hospital had been established by Madam Primpernelle, who had used her connections from the Beautification Potion business to get ahead of the pure-blood families and secure the British government's support first.

Of course, it also had something to do with her idea of founding a magical hospital that combined magic with technology. After all, those pure-bloods could only think of silly magical apothecaries. To the British Prime Minister, what could be more worth investing in than the concept of magic and technology working together?

"Nothing much. I just ruined his beautiful original plan," Marvolio said lightly.

"...No wonder I couldn't find you in the prepared ward."

Madam Primpernelle was rather helpless in the face of Marvolio's willfulness.

As Tver's public heir, every move Marvolio made here could be said to represent all wizards.

And this project was so important. The more carelessly he behaved, the more likely it was to make those who wanted to cooperate with wizards hesitate.

Still, Marvolio's problems could be left for Tver to worry about.

"Do you know this woman? Or this child?" she asked, pointing at the worried woman sitting nearby and then at the locked ward, where the child was currently receiving treatment.

No matter how powerful Marvolio was, he was not a professional Healer. He did not even know many healing spells, so how could he personally treat the child?

So this operation was mainly being carried out by Healer Helbert Smethwyck, who had transferred over from St. Mungo's, with several professional oncologists assisting him.

Marvolio glanced at the woman and silently shook his head.

In truth, he had only learned from the woman's eyes that the child was an orphan, while she was merely an ordinary volunteer worker from the orphanage.

In other words, in that child, Marvolio had seen the same helplessness he once had.

The difference was that this child had met him.

Seeing that Marvolio did not want to speak, Madam Primpernelle did not press him. She only patted his arm understandingly before walking over to comfort the woman.

Of course, although she was called a woman, she was really just a kind young girl in her early twenties.

"My name is Primpernelle. I'm an investor in this hospital. May I ask your name?" she asked softly.

"I... I'm sorry, madam. You can just call me Elusi." Elusi was so nervous she did not know where to put her hands. It was the first time she had ever come into contact with so many important people.

Madam Primpernelle gently patted her hand.

"Don't worry. Mr. Smethwyck..."

She thought for a moment and decided it was better not to mention that Smethwyck had only started learning how to use technological medical equipment yesterday.

"He is a well-known Healer in the wizarding world. That child will definitely be all right."

There were only so many professional Healers. It was hard not to be well-known.

After combining that with what she had learned about the muggle world, Madam Primpernelle suddenly felt that their hospital did not seem very reliable.

"But..." Elusi lowered her head guiltily. "The orphanage really doesn't have any money left to pay for treatment."

She had wanted to say this from the beginning, but when she saw that the man who was supposedly a Healer had confidently said he could cure such a difficult tumor, she had somehow hidden it instead. The guilt had stayed with her until now.

"Silly girl." Madam Primpernelle laughed and lightly tapped her on the head. She even found her a little adorably foolish.

"Do you know how many reporters are watching the operation inside right now? How could we possibly throw you out just because you have no money?"

To put it bluntly, if the operation unfortunately failed, even if she had to use Memory Charms on a large scale, she would make sure this operation became a great moment recorded in history.

"But what about you? If the orphanage has no money, then working there can't leave you with much to live on, can it?"

With her long-standing worry resolved, Elusi's face relaxed into a smile.

"I was an orphan too. My parents abandoned me because of my illness, but fortunately, the orphanage director, Granny, begged so many doctors until they finally cured me. Now that I've grown up, of course I have to help Granny manage the orphanage properly."

Seeing the bright smile on the girl's face, Madam Primpernelle paused.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Could you tell me more about the orphanage?"

Marvolio did not join their conversation. To be honest, he was also troubled by the task Tver had left him.

Although curing this child would still bring the same effect, the willful image he had created was real. To potential partners, such immature behavior could easily reduce their willingness to cooperate.

So he had to make up for it properly.

"It was indeed my idea to change the patient at the last minute," Marvolio said confidently, looking at the reporters who had surrounded him again.

"Then can you explain why you changed the patient at the last minute? Or did you lack confidence in treating the original patient?" a reporter immediately asked sharply.

To show openness, and to make the hospital's treatment results more convincing, the Prime Minister had invited many unofficial media outlets, even media companies from opposing factions.

But Marvolio had already prepared for such pointed questions.

"On the contrary, the original patient will still receive complete treatment and will walk out of this magical hospital perfectly intact... I mean, healthy."

He had nearly brought over his old Auror habit of talking about fighting and killing, but that did not stop the smile on Marvolio's face from growing even more confident.

Many reporters who had watched the Battle of Hogwarts several times suddenly felt that, judging by this confidence, Marvolio really did fit the image of the mysterious Professor Fawley's heir.

"As for why I temporarily selected a patient from the crowd, the reason is simple..."

Marvolio swept his gaze mysteriously around the room, and the reporters suddenly had the strange feeling that they had been stripped bare.

"Because I saw distrust in your eyes. I imagine many of you believe that the so-called first patient had been deliberately arranged in advance, don't you?"

"Wasn't he?" a reporter shot back.

"Yes," Marvolio admitted cleanly, without caring at all about the uproar this caused.

"So, to make the hospital's abilities more convincing, I randomly selected a patient with a more complicated illness, a tumor patient whose condition could even be called terminal."

"It wasn't willfulness on my part. It was because..."

He stepped aside, allowing the reporters to see the ward door suddenly open and the Healers and doctors walking out.

"Because I firmly believe that what your technology cannot do, magic and technology together certainly can."

Suddenly becoming the focus of everyone's attention, Smethwyck looked dazed for a moment before saying somewhat blankly, "The operation was very successful. The tumor in the patient's brain has been completely eliminated."

No matter what motives they carried, the moment they heard those words, all the reporters boiled over with excitement.

"A miracle. This is a miracle!"

"What technology couldn't do, magic has done. This has to be tomorrow's headline!"

"Humanity is saved!"

Marvolio looked strangely at the suddenly fanatical reporters. All he wanted was to tell them that magic was not actually omnipotent, and he had no idea what this meant to ordinary people.

He had only wanted to imitate Tver's impassioned manner. That should be a good thing, right?
