Chapter 617 - Chapter 617: Welcome Back

Harry felt as if he had had a very, very long dream. So long that he did not want to wake up.

In that dream, Voldemort's target had not been him, but Neville.

Naturally, although Harry's parents had been targeted by the Death Eaters, with Sirius, Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew protecting them, their family had survived safe and sound.

Yes. In the dream, Peter Pettigrew had never betrayed them.

He did feel a little sorry for Neville, but to Harry, everything in that dream had been so wonderful.

He had an enviably happy childhood. When he turned eleven, he no longer had the famous title of Savior, but with his outstanding talent, he also avoided the strange looks that title would have brought him.

Ron and Hermione were still his best friends, and Draco Malfoy was still as awful as ever...

All right, maybe not quite that awful.

Life at Hogwarts was not always smooth, but for Harry now, the fact that his parents, Professor Fawley, Snape, and even Peter Pettigrew were all still alive was already the scene he had longed to see most in his dreams.

"Wake up, Harry. Look who's back!" Ron said excitedly, patting Harry on the head.

Hermione still looked worried beside him, but since Madam Pomfrey had already said Harry was alive, she simply watched.

Besides, if she were the one doing it now, she might hit even harder.

Feeling his face smart from the patting, Harry had no choice but to force his eyelids open a crack, like someone too sleepy to wake.

"Ron? Ron?!"

Although he was calling Ron's name, what truly shocked him into widening his eyes was Professor Fawley and Snape standing behind Ron, chatting with Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

"Am I... still dreaming?" Harry murmured.

But his disbelieving gaze slowly swept over everything.

Malfoy was grinning so widely his mouth nearly reached his ears. Neville was clinging to Malfoy's arm, crying and laughing at the same time. Seeing him, Harry even felt guilty for a moment because of his dream.

Among the adults, Sirius stood out the most. His large hand kept patting the professor's shoulder, interrupting the professor several times just as he was about to speak.

The professors and students of Hogwarts, every member of the Order of the Phoenix, even Filch and the cat in his arms.

Everyone wore a different expression, but without exception, their eyes held the same joy as Harry's.

Except Ron.

He was holding up half of Harry's body, yet all he saw was a foolish grin. His face immediately fell.

"It's over, Professor. I think Harry's brain is broken!"

Ignoring Hermione's helpless look, Ron's shout finally caught Tver's attention.

"You're awake? How do you feel?" Tver walked over and looked Harry over curiously.

To be honest, when it came to some of the more mysterious kinds of magic, he was indeed far less knowledgeable than Dumbledore.

A typical example was the protective magic Lily had left on Harry. Even now, he still had not figured out what kind of magic could protect her child from the Killing Curse twice.

Or was the word "love" really that powerful against Voldemort?

Of course, Harry being able to defeat Voldemort on the level of the soul also had much to do with Harry's own will, the people around him, and even Draco stepping forward at that moment.

Harry looked at the professor's familiar face and finally confirmed that he was not dreaming.

"Pro... Professor..."

As if he had suddenly remembered something, the joy on his face faded into dejection.

"I'm sorry."

"What?"

Harry had spoken unclearly, and Tver had been distracted as well, so he did not catch it at first.

"I..." Harry lowered his head guiltily, still sitting on the ground. "It was all my fault."

"I shouldn't have been curious about Karkaroff's strange expression and movements, and I definitely shouldn't have tried to follow him. I caused you to... disappear for so long."

Tver raised his eyebrows in surprise, then shook his head with a faint laugh.

Harry Potter actually had moments when he felt guilty about being reckless?

Feeling rather gratified, he rubbed Harry's head. Ever since his students had gradually matured, he had rarely made such gestures toward them.

But judging by the fact that Harry not only did not dislike it, but even looked a little nostalgic, it was clear they did not mind showing a childish side in front of their professor.

"Even though you've beaten him twice, you still have to admit that Voldemort's skill at disguise and luring people in isn't something you can resist."

"Of course, if you could be a little more cautious before acting next time, for example by telling me what you found first, I'd be much more pleased."

Although this time had turned into a blessing in disguise, Tver would still rather things be a little safer than so dangerous.

Harry nodded heavily. As for whether he would truly take it to heart, Tver had no way of knowing.

Of course...

Tver straightened and looked toward the enemies in the distance, who had already begun to break into infighting.

After today, Harry would no longer need to worry about anyone threatening him.

For some reason, Harry felt the professor's presence suddenly become sharp and imposing. With Ron supporting him, he quickly stood up and gave the place beside Tver to someone more important.

Watching Tver's tall, upright figure, the stone in Cynthia's heart finally settled.

She cleared her throat, both to remind Tver and to help herself suppress the excitement that was almost beyond control.

"As you instructed, they're already in position. It's just that Hogwarts' area of influence is quite wide, so I didn't let them come in rashly."

"Also, the British Prime Minister and many ambassadors heard about your plan and want to come in for a look. Of course, I think they just want to add a little capital to their political careers."

"Lastly..."

Cynthia took a deep breath, and finally could not keep the tremor out of her voice.

"Welcome back."

Tver turned around. Having returned from the edge of death, he himself felt as if a lifetime had passed.

Now that he was seeing familiar faces again, the excitement in his heart was no less than theirs.

"Since Hogwarts' Protective Enchantments have been disrupted by Voldemort anyway, I'll shield those Enchantments. You can let them in then."

The reason electrical appliances could not be used at Hogwarts was that the magic accumulated here was too dense and complicated, forming a powerful magical field. Basically, any electronic device that came near Hogwarts would stop working.

So even Tver could only rely on his highest authority at Hogwarts to remove most of the less important, or even outdated, magic.

As for what came afterward, please. Tver and Dumbledore were both still here. At worst, they could add more, better Protective Enchantments.

Besides, perhaps Hogwarts could take this chance to move with the times a little. Tver had long since grown tired of the dim candlelight here.

"As for those politicians, including the Ministry of Magic members and Confederation representatives on the perimeter, let them in."

"For something this important, having more witnesses is still necessary."

"Lastly..."

A gentle smile appeared on his face, and as if coaxing a child, he also reached out and patted her on the head.

"Thank you."
