Madara frowned.
Black Zetsu's silent disappearance indicated that he must have learned something. Perhaps this despicable fellow had already overheard Satoshi's and his conversation.
Now that the cat was out of the bag, this hateful liar had no choice but to run away. Otherwise, why wouldn't he come out and confront him face to face?
At this point, Madara was 100% convinced that Black Zetsu was problematic.
Perhaps what that brat Satoshi said wasn't 100% true, but what Black Zetsu said was definitely not to be trusted.
After understanding these matters, Madara looked coldly at Obito. "The Eye of the Moon Plan is canceled. Now we are executing the mission to capture Black Zetsu."
Obito still hadn't fully processed what Madara was saying.
Capture Black Zetsu?
Madara increased the pressure under his foot. "Obito, did you hear me?"
Obito looked at Madara with a bewildered expression.
Seriously, are you for real?
Things were changing too quickly, making him feel an itch in his head, as if something was about to grow out.
Madara couldn't be bothered to explain too much, Obito wouldn't understand.
"Black Zetsu deceived us. What we need to do now is kill this despicable fellow."
With that, Madara slung his Gunbai onto his back and walked out of the cave.
He wanted to take a stroll outside and, incidentally, kill a few unlucky people who couldn't see clearly to relieve his boredom.
Inside the cave, Obito was furious and humiliated, his intelligence plummeting once again.
What truth?
What lies?
On that rainy night when Rin died, the world had already completely rotted.
Even if the entire Ninja World collapsed today, shattering this false reality, he would see this damned Infinite Tsukuyomi through to the end.
This was the only pillar that supported him until now, the only straw he could grasp in the boundless hell.
Obito stumbled and stood up. He steadied himself, his gaze refocusing on the Gedo Statue.
"Power, I need stronger power."
He had to face the cruelest problem. How could he retrieve the last two Tailed Beasts and the crucial Rinnegan?
"Edo Tensei? It's fine for clearing out some small fry, but against him, I definitely won't have the ability to resist."
And also, how to escape Madara's control.
Time slowly passed.
Obito frowned, his brain working at high speed.
One plan after another was proposed, then overturned. All the paths he could think of ultimately seemed to lead to the same dead end, Satoshi's power was already too great.
He had never felt his intelligence was so inadequate. This made him very frustrated.
Finally, he glanced at the Gedo Statue, then merged into a vortex and disappeared.
Obito arrived at the top of the cliff, where he could see Konoha.
"Foolish Madara, to talk such nonsense about abandoning the Infinite Tsukuyomi. How could I ever allow such a thing to happen?"
"Black Zetsu, you..."
Obito subconsciously tried to speak to Black Zetsu, but found no one beside him.
Damn it, Black Zetsu was indeed gone.
Obito believed that even if Black Zetsu's intelligence was far inferior to his own, he could sometimes offer some valuable advice. Now that he was alone, he even felt a little unaccustomed to it.
Forget it, I'll think for myself.
—
Three days later, Obito went crazy.
His clever brain seemed to be controlled, he couldn't think of a suitable method.
Did Madara's restraint also have the effect of lowering one's intelligence?
Fortunately, he still had Kabuto as an ally.
Late at night, Kabuto arrived at the cave and saw Obito sitting alone in his seat.
Kabuto asked, "So urgent, what is it?"
Obito said, "Madara betrayed our plan."
Kabuto adjusted his glasses, feeling that the world must have gone mad.
Madara betrayed Konoha back then, and now he was betraying again. Was this guy addicted to being a double-crosser or what?
However, for Kabuto, it might be a good thing. Without Madara causing trouble, it would be easier for him to manipulate Obito.
Kabuto licked his lips, his attention quickly drawn back to the Gedo Statue.
"What an interesting thing..."
Obito looked up at Kabuto. This guy was becoming less and less human now. Just standing with him made his scalp tingle.
"I will notify you when it's time for the operation."
"Understood."
Kabuto left the cave, and Obito didn't want to stay there either. He simply put on his mask and slowly strolled down a dark alley.
"Damn Madara, to give up after succeeding halfway, what kind of trick is he playing?"
He didn't know that his words had fallen into Black Zetsu's ears, word for word.
These past few days, Black Zetsu had been hiding in the darkness, constantly observing Obito's movements.
As for that fool Madara, as long as he didn't expose himself, he would never find him in this lifetime. Moreover, he could in turn use Zetsu to monitor Madara.
After a while, Black Zetsu felt the time was right and emerged from the ground.
"Obito."
Obito turned abruptly, his crimson Sharingan instantly locking onto Black Zetsu.
"Black Zetsu."
Obito stared at Black Zetsu, seemingly trying to discern something from it.
"Madara said that the Eye of the Moon Plan is fake."
Black Zetsu shook his head. "Obito, don't you understand yet? Madara was deceived."
"He has betrayed our common ideal, betrayed the long-cherished wish of the Uchiha clan, and become Konoha's lapdog."
Black Zetsu believed that deceiving Obito was much easier than deceiving Madara. Or rather, there was no need to deceive him at all.
Rin was Obito's core programming. As long as a matter was linked to Rin, Obito would eagerly do it.
Black Zetsu asked, "Do you not want to revive Rin anymore? Think of the moment Rin fell into your arms, think of that dark moment filled with despair and pain."
"Tell me, do you have a second way to change this tragedy?"
"Rin..." Obito lowered his head.
"I want to create a world with Rin."
"Then that's it. For Rin, for that perfect world, we must never give up." Black Zetsu smiled triumphantly.
This naive boy was so easy to trick.
Obito's voice turned cold. "But I need stronger power."
"Have you forgotten your source of power?" Black Zetsu immediately interrupted him.
"Don't forget your other Mangekyo Sharingan, the eye that harbors equally powerful Kamui, where is it?"
Obito's body suddenly stiffened.
During the Third Great Ninja War, before his "death," his other eye was given to Kakashi.
"Kakashi..." Obito seemed to be searching for an excuse.
"That good-for-nothing has always been hiding in Konoha, there hasn't been a suitable opportunity."
"Who said he's in Konoha?"
Black Zetsu lowered his voice. "I threw out a false bait, spreading the news that you were in the Land of Grass. By my reckoning, he should have arrived by now. Now, the opportunity to reclaim your power is right before you."
"I understand. Forgive me, Kakashi, all of this is for the Eye of the Moon Plan."
...
After Obito's identity was exposed, there was one person who dreamed of catching him.
That was Obito's good friend, Kakashi.
The Ninja World now seemed peaceful, everyone's spirits had relaxed a little. Only Kakashi's nerves remained tense every day.
Every day, he and Guy roamed the entire Ninja World, just to find Obito's whereabouts.
Guy knew this was Kakashi's obsession and couldn't stop him, so he carried his small bag every day, running around behind him, following his every command.
A few days ago, they suddenly heard news of Obito's appearance in the Land of Grass.
Kakashi instantly became excited. Enduring his physical exhaustion, he traveled day and night without stopping, rushing desperately towards the Land of Grass.
Guy was bewildered. Kakashi had been so weak just now, how did he suddenly become so full of life again?
"Kakashi." Guy plopped down on a rock.
"Let's rest for a bit. You haven't closed your eyes for two days."
Kakashi swallowed a military ration pill and said, "I can still hold on. I feel like we're very close to Obito."
Kakashi put away the map and said, "Let's go. We need to hurry. Obito is very troublesome."
Guy could only nod helplessly. "Be careful."
Summoning Jutsu!
Kakashi said, "Pakkun will be by my side. I'll inform you immediately if anything happens."
"Alright then."
Guy waved his hand, and the two walked in opposite directions.
