Chapter 138 - The Classic Bell Game

Satoshi looked at Dodai and said, "I know Kumogakure has a giant turtle beast. I'm very interested in it."

Dodai's eyes widened. How did Konoha know about Genbu?

Their intelligence-gathering abilities were surprisingly great. In front of them, Dodai felt as if his every secret had been laid bare.

Genbu was extremely important to Kumogakure. If this were in the past, if Konoha dared to say such a thing, Kumogakure would definitely roar and charge forward.

But not now. They no longer had the capital to continue fighting.

Now Konoha was asking for it, and if you didn't give it, they would take it by force, and you'd still be helpless.

At that rate, Kumogakure might even be turned into an underground reservoir.

Dodai nodded, saying with a humiliated expression, "From now on, Genbu will be Konoha's property."

As for Iwagakure and Sunagakure, one was all sand, the other all rocks. They weren't worth taking from anyway.

In the evening, the meeting finally concluded.

The Land of Iron even thoughtfully arranged accommodation rooms, allowing everyone to travel the next morning.

The representatives of the former Three Village Alliance sighed slowly, filled with regret.

"If we hadn't launched an attack on Konoha back then, we wouldn't have ended up in this state."

"Kumogakure is completely destroyed, even more so than Sunagakure. I don't know how many years it will take to repair."

"More importantly, Bee has been detained by them in Konoha."

Dodai gnashed his teeth, wishing he could tear this hateful Hokage to shreds.

With Two-Tails missing and Bee detained, how could they possibly continue?

As for Ebizo and Chiyo, they suddenly felt a little more balanced. Before the war began, among the Five Great Ninja villages, they were the weakest. Now, it seemed they had become the second weakest.

Not bad, acceptable... what the hell!

Their successors hadn't even been decided yet. They couldn't possibly let Temari or Kankuro take over.

As for Yagura, he found Satoshi and engaged in in-depth discussions on the issue of cooperation between the two villages.

Yagura stated that the development of Kirigakure could not be separated from Konoha's help and support. In the future, the entirety of Kirigakure would maintain good relations with Konoha for generations.

Additionally, Kirigakure would issue a batch of permits, allowing all residents of the Land of Fire to freely visit the Land of Water for leisure.

Inspired by Kumogakure, Kirigakure developed a massive water park to boost tourism. They hoped friends from the Land of Fire would offer much support and progress together.

"Of course, Konoha is always generous to its friends."

After exchanging pleasantries, Satoshi embarked on his journey back to the village.

On the surface, the Ninja World had returned to peace, but the mastermind behind it all had yet to be dealt with.

To make Naruto confront his inner darkness, Satoshi sent him to Genbu. After some thought, he dragged Sasuke along as well.

With these two good friends together, who knew what kind of sparks would fly.

Time flowed slowly.

With the help of his mother Kushina's residual Chakra, Naruto subdued Kurama and successfully activated Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.

Unfortunately, he didn't find an opportunity to give his dad a good beating. Instead, his mom gave him a smack that knocked him sensible.

Sasuke activated Susanoo, and his entire strength also increased significantly.

But the cost...

Sasuke looked up at the sky and said, "Naruto, the sky is getting dark so fast today."

Naruto blinked, thinking Sasuke must have gone crazy. It was twelve noon, and the sun was high in the sky, making him sweat profusely.

"What are you talking about? The sun is so bright it's hard to open your eyes..."

Before he finished speaking, the smile on Naruto's face instantly froze. A chill suddenly shot up his spine.

He abruptly stretched out both hands and waved them vigorously in front of Sasuke's eyes.

Sasuke's empty gaze was unfocused, completely unresponsive to the close-range waving.

"Sasuke! You..."

Naruto's voice trembled slightly.

"I can't see." Sasuke's voice was unusually calm.

He tilted his head slightly, trying to pinpoint the source of the sound.

"I'll take you to see Sakura, no, Garnny Tsunade, no, let's go find Satoshi-sensei. He said he has a way."

He suddenly hoisted Sasuke onto his shoulder, bursting forth with the fastest speed of his life, like a golden flash of lightning, rushing recklessly towards the Hokage Building.

Boom!

A huge piece of iron, carried by the wind, smashed into the room.

Satoshi, who was reviewing documents, steadily caught the heavy iron door with one hand, looking quite helpless.

"Naruto, can't you take care of public property? The cost of the door will be deducted from your mission rewards."

Naruto, at this moment, couldn't care less. He gently put Sasuke down from his shoulder.

He pointed at his friend's empty eyes, his voice choked with tears. "Sensei! Sasuke can't see!"

Satoshi paused for a moment and held up his middle finger. "What number is this?"

Sasuke remained silent, not responding.

Well, Sasuke had gone blind playing around.

"Haa..."

Satoshi turned around and carefully took out a glass jar submerged in a light green solution from a specially designed constant-temperature container behind him. Inside the jar, a pair of crimson eyes floated quietly.

"These are Itachi's eyes. Consider them the last thing he left for you. I'll have a medical ninja transplant them for you now."

The surgery was a great success.

As the bandages covering his eyes were gently removed layer by layer, Sasuke slowly opened his eyelids.

A perfectly clear world re-entered his vision. Not only that, an even more immense power surged within him.

Sasuke welcomed his own qualitative change.

And so, the sky cleared, and Sasuke felt he was capable again.

He ripped off the remaining bandage fragments, and the crimson six-pointed Mangekyo slowly rotated in his eyes, his sharp gaze fixed at Satoshi.

"I want to challenge you. This is the seventy-ninth time."

Hearing this, Satoshi unhurriedly pulled two bells from his ninja tool pouch and weighed them in his hand.

"Alright, let the three of us have a match, the classic bell-snatching game of Konoha."

"Okay!" Naruto was clearly excited. "Sasuke, let's fight side-by-side again."

Sasuke scoffed, "Boring. I'll defeat him with my own strength."

"Then dig out Itachi's eyeballs and give them back to me."

"..."

Sasuke's body instantly stiffened, and his face visibly flushed at a rapid pace.

"Hahahahaha!"

Naruto clutched his stomach, laughing uncontrollably. "Sasuke, your face is red again!"

"It's not!"

"It is!"

"I said it's not!"

Konoha's back mountains.

"If you get the bells, you win. The loser doesn't get lunch."

Satoshi hung the bells on his waist and beckoned to Naruto and Sasuke.

"Come on, but don't use those super large-scale destructive Ninjutsu, otherwise Tenzo-senpai will scold you, right?"

Tenzo, who was just watching from the side, felt his vision go dark. He remembered those not-so-pleasant experiences from back then.

"Here we go, Sasuke!"

"Don't order me around!"

Sasuke took the lead, swinging his Kusanagi Sword.

Clang!

"Didn't eat?"

Sasuke frowned. This guy was truly a master at messing with people's minds.

At this moment, Naruto leapt into the air.

Leaf Great Whirlwind!

Booming sounds continuously echoed from the back mountains. Occasionally, a puff of smoke would appear.

The villagers of Konoha looked bewildered. Was the village going to be expanded?

Tenzo was so worried he almost fainted. Please stop fighting, it's really tiring to plant trees and reforest, okay.
