Chapter 153 - Chapter 153: Give Them a Shock from Another World

Chapter 153: Give Them a Shock from Another World

Aizen had always been generous with knowledge. He had never hesitated to give it away.

He did not belong to any village or organization. Because of that, he had no need for secrecy. People hid knowledge to gain strategic or political advantage. Aizen had no such need. For him, spreading knowledge only brought greater returns.

More people were needed to walk the seemingly endless road of research. More hands were needed to widen the edges of the world. Creating something from nothing was the hardest step, but once a certain height was reached, others would instinctively join in, helping push you higher and higher, until your name was carved into history.

That path was what Aizen had always believed to be correct.

If you wanted to truly understand something, the first step was to give without holding back.

If you wanted to gain, you had to be prepared to pay.

People were always cautious until they saw concrete benefits. Even if you were just opening a small shop, you would need slides and charts to prove your ideas made sense. Now, with four promising talents that Tsunade had personally sent him, Aizen intended to shape them into something more.

Not just students.

Symbols. Banners. Living proof that his theories worked.

No matter how dazzling a theory was, it meant little if it could not be replicated. Only when it could be reproduced by many people did it become a true standard. A single product was nothing more than a lucky sample.

Just like yield rate in industry. The higher the yield, the more mature the technology.

In Aizen's eyes, these four young shinobi were both disciples to be taught and goods to be displayed to the outside world. Because of that, he was very serious about their education.

After all, they were not Kakashi.

They were not geniuses who could already support research at seven or eight years old. They were bright by ordinary standards, but still needed his hand on their backs, pushing them forward.

Aizen looked at the four intelligent faces in front of him, then had each of them sit at a separate table.

He snapped his fingers.

It was like watching a dream solidify. Countless thick folders and bound files appeared in front of the four, forming neat stacks on each desk. The young shinobi, who had only just finished calming their nerves, froze in place.

"Huh"

"Yes," Aizen said. "These are the theories you will need to read and understand."

"So much"

"That is roughly the catalog. You can choose your own direction based on your needs and goals. If you have any questions, ask me at any time."

"…"

They stared blankly at the small mountains of paperwork.

Then, to their horror, they realized Aizen had not been exaggerating.

These really were only the tables of contents.

Densely packed lines of entries filled the pages, listing major fields, sub fields, and layered theoretical branches.

Even for Nara Shikamaru, who prided himself on being able to grasp any system at a glance, the sheer density of small text made his head spin. One sheet alone held at least thirty micro categories. Hundreds of those grouped into a small category. Dozens of small categories formed a larger field. A dozen major fields together made up what was labeled the General Theory of Chakra Research.

The derived sections, split further into practice, experiment logs, verifications, and conjectural models, numbered in the hundreds of thousands. A glance at the catalog suggested that the total word count hovered somewhere near the realm of millions.

The realization sent a chill through Shikamaru's back.

He knew Aizen would not lie about something like this.

With papers ranging from a few hundred words to tens of thousands, how long would it take to actually learn all of this

After a quick mental calculation, Shikamaru felt a powerful urge to quietly get up, walk to the door, and never come back.

At that moment, Aizen smiled and produced a handful of green talismans and pills that pulsed faintly with life. Their color looked vibrant and healthy, yet seeing them here made everyone's skin crawl.

"So, let us start with a small exercise," Aizen said. "What do you think these are"

"…"

Sakura swallowed. The structure was painfully familiar. So was the scent of the herbs used. She raised her hand with a pale face and a slight tremor in her voice.

"They are pills that restore stamina and energy. And the talismans should have the same function. I do not know how they are made, but that is what they look like."

"Correct," Aizen said. "These are Qi restoring talismans and stamina pills. Strictly speaking, they were developed from Tsunade's work. They can keep a person at full physical capacity for twenty four hours. The latest complete versions can maintain a state of high energy and stamina for a full month, and can even take the place of eating and drinking. Once they are set to function automatically, they can replace almost every basic human need."

"…"

"This is the level of technology that my chakra theory allows," he continued. "The human body itself is a form built from chakra. Once chakra appeared in human beings, shinobi became distinct from normal humans.

"In practical terms, this did not create a new species. There was no reproductive barrier, no clear mutation, and compared to ordinary animals in nature, our bodies do not look very different. But the presence of chakra in itself is proof of the direction of our evolution. Strictly speaking, shinobi are incarnations of chakra."

"…"

"If your chakra is completely drained, you die. But if you can control chakra, you can become anything. Wood, steel, stone, whatever you can imagine. Under the influence of your will, your chakra can be reborn endlessly, just like a tailed beast.

"Talismans and pills were born from this theory. By using them to form chakra arrays that convert natural energy and life energy, we can continuously replenish physical strength and mental stamina. Aside from the risk of partial wood like transformation after a month of uninterrupted use, the formula is nearly complete."

"…"

"So," he concluded, still smiling, "is research not wonderful We can so easily step past birth, aging, sickness, and death, and even move beyond what we consider human. All of this comes from expanding our vision of technology, from adjusting a small part of life energy.

"In this way, your usable lifetime can be multiplied by three. One month can hold the work of three. Not bad, is it"

Life energy is not for this, you monster.

In Sakura's mind, she had already chopped the gentle faced man in front of her into a hundred pieces with every tool she could think of.

But a giant in your head was not the same as one standing in front of you.

On the outside, she only smiled stiffly, then glanced sideways at the others.

Behind Shino's sunglasses, there was no way to read her expression. Yamanaka Ino and Shikamaru, however, both wore the same look.

Dead eyed.

They had been prepared to pay a price, but this was pushing it.

Thirty days in a month.

Twenty four hours in a day.

Seven hundred and twenty hours of non stop work while your body ran on pills and talismans.

Just imagining it made their stomachs twist.

It would be easier to go out and die in battle.

Before that thought had fully formed, Aizen reached into his coat again and pulled out something even more unsettling.

"Awakening Pills," he said lightly. "A kind of learning aid. They are very popular where I come from."

What he held looked like small capsules formed from layered talisman seals and crystalline shells. Pale lightning flickered inside them.

"These," Aizen explained, "are sealed with lightning chakra endowed with natural energy. They monitor a person's concentration. The moment they detect a lapse, they release a dose of natural energy and lightning to help the user regain focus."

"Because studying is a serious matter. If you are easily distracted, even with a solid foundation, you will not produce much at the end of the year. To truly absorb knowledge, you need continuous focus.

"There is a saying. Learning without thinking is useless. Blind memorization without your own ideas leads nowhere."

His gaze swept over the four of them.

"I hope all of you will come to understand just how important these techniques and theories are. Time is short, but with medicine and talismans, we can bend it a little in our favor.

"If you learn to treat research as a kind of joy, this month will pass quickly. In fact, my students and professors in my previous world often asked for more. I hope you can reach that level too."

"…"

Are you human

Can a human even do this

A month of sleepless study with lightning shocks as a wake up call

Is that something mortals are supposed to endure

Shikamaru was panicking. Completely panicking.

As a Konoha genius, cutting corners and saving effort had always been instinctive. If one unit of effort could get him where other people needed ten, why in the world would he ever use ten

Until now, he had never encountered a situation that forced him to give everything. Even in this dangerous ninja world, he moved through life with a kind of lazy pride.

Using his full strength felt like losing.

Exerting only a fraction and still keeping up made him feel like he was winning.

But the moment he met Aizen, he had understood that in this man's eyes, he was probably no more than a slightly interesting insect.

Aizen had recognized his intelligence in an instant.

Then, in the very next instant, he had treated that intelligence as nothing unusual. Just another trait shared by all four of them.

That quiet disregard left a faint sting of humiliation in Shikamaru's chest.

He never said it aloud, but he had always thought of himself as above the crowd. A genius should stand out.

Yet in Aizen's gaze, this genius was no different from anyone else.

Why

Was his genius not enough

Or did Aizen simply not care whether he was different or not

On top of that, these catalogues seemed to repeat similar structures over and over. The frameworks were the same. Only the applications and subdivisions changed. Did they really need to study all of them to such a degree

Shikamaru looked down at the talismans and pills on the table, then at the Awakening Pill that flickered with pale blue lightning and intricate characters.

He felt very strongly that he did not belong here.

He had run from one troublesome duty, only to land in a deeper hell.

How was that fair

"…Aizen sensei."

The voice that broke the silence was quiet, but steady.

Shino, who had been silent until then, raised a hand.

"If I learn this knowledge," she asked, "will it help me find entirely new insects to breed and train That has always been my goal. Current theory cannot support it. Can yours"

"Oh" Aizen's eyes narrowed slightly. "So you had your own ideas after all."

He adjusted his glasses, expression pleased, and separated out a portion of the files.

"For biology, start with these. But do not ignore the rest. Many theories only make sense when seen as a whole. Be sure you understand what connects them."

"Thank you, Aizen sensei."

Shino pushed up her sunglasses, sat down without hesitation, and began flipping through the pages Aizen had indicated. Soon after, she naturally requested the follow up papers referenced in the first stack.

Aizen demonstrated another neat trick.

He snapped his fingers over the table, and each time Shino pointed to a catalogue entry, the corresponding paper appeared from within the drawer.

Under the others' stunned stares, the quiet, almost transparent teammate they had long taken for granted leaned forward over the desk, completely immersed in theory concerning chakra and insect mutation, asking Aizen questions whenever something caught her eye.

The sight made the others feel strangely exposed.

They had always thought of Aburame Shino as background, a silent presence that blended into the corner.

This was the first time she had voiced her dreams so plainly.

He had always wanted to discover new species of insects.

The current Aburame methods and frameworks could not support that dream.

He had no famous name. No special status.

But Shino still had his own small ambition.

Aizen's new system lit that ambition on fire.

He swallowed an Awakening Pill without flinching, along with the Qi restoring talismans and stamina pills. A bluish green glow wrapped around his body. Without another word, he buried himself in the text.

Aizen watched him with a soft, satisfied smile.

"If you want to do experiments," he said, "there are test fields in the room next door prepared for small scale trials. If you need materials, write them down. I will see that you receive them.

"Theories and experiments must grow together. Verification is the only way to learn properly. That goes for all of you.

"You can all find something you want in these studies. Research is the path by which dreams become reality."

"Well, I have an idea too."

""

Shikamaru's head snapped toward Ino.

You too

Ino touched her lips and smiled a little awkwardly.

"People like flowers," she said. "Is there chakra theory about flowers Or can you make things that look like flowers I like that kind of thing."

"There is not much research specifically on flowers," Aizen answered. "But you can refer to the work on Descent of the Flower Tree World and the Return of Life Energy. If you make progress there, flower type ninjutsu should not be difficult."

"Thank you, Inzen sensei"

She did not know exactly what Flower Tree World Descent was, but the moment she heard that there could be flower based ninjutsu, Ino's eyes lit up.

She loved anything related to flowers.

Her family ran a flower shop. She had even developed flower shuriken.

Insects did nothing for her, but mention petals, blossoms, or perfume, and she was all ears.

If there was no way to escape, then they might as well enjoy themselves.

They had already resolved to learn. Given the workload, they might as well pick an area they loved and throw themselves at it, then pick up the rest of the system from the side.

Shikamaru understood the logic.

He just did not have a dream to hang his effort on.

Looking at the stacked documents, he felt with growing certainty that this was not something human beings were meant to do.

Even with the looming crisis of the Chunin Exams, he remained, at his core, the same lazy genius who would always lie down if he had the choice.

And now, even his last ally had defected.

"Aizen sensei," Sakura said, lifting her head. "Do you know how to increase your power"

"Power" he asked. "In what sense"

"I have a very, very important friend who left the village because of some things. I want to bring him back. What should I learn"

"If you intend to drag someone back by force," Aizen said calmly, "and you hope for results within a few years, then I suggest these fields.

"Blut Arterie. Blut Vene. Natural energy manipulation. Demonic arts. Spiritual power.

"These can produce effects that present ninjutsu cannot match in a short time. But managing so many branches will be exhausting. Are you prepared for that"

"…Yes. I am."

"Then those will be your focus."

"…"

What

Shikamaru stared.

This was not right.

Why were they all just accepting it like that

Couldn't they at least wait to see the results first

He watched Sakura tie her forehead protector back with a serious expression, then turn resolutely toward the towering stack of documents.

As she picked up the first file and began to read, Shikamaru had one clear thought.

They had all lost their minds.
