Duchess Rerfe gave me a pleading look. "Please, Your Majesty... don't do this with... me..." Her words were full of pleading.
Did she think that I am a good person? Someone who will retract her judgement after her victim pleads for mercy?

I shook my head, and looked into her terrified eyes. "Why are you feeling sad about this, Duchess Rerfe? You had sex with your lover in your husband's room. I am sure that you didn't do this because you wanted him to see your sexual prowess." She was shaking her head in denial. "No? Then what about your daughter?"
Duchess Rerfe stiffened, guiltiness was evident on her face. She bit her lip and looked away.
