Chapter 67 - Chapter 66: First Victory

"Tentacruel, attack the ground with all your tentacles!" Alex commanded.

"What are you trying to do? My Donphan's Earthquake can already tear the ground apart, and you're having your Tentacruel hit the ground too? The field will collapse, which is extremely disadvantageous for your Tentacruel. How foolish!"

"I think you're the foolish one. Tentacruel, use Surf!"

As Tentacruel fell into the large pit it had created, a mocking smile appeared on Alex's face.

In an instant, Tentacruel filled the pit with water, transforming the rocky field into a shared arena for both Rock and Water-type Pokémon.

"You? You can change the field? That's a foul!" Xiao Zhen roared angrily.

"As long as no malicious actions are involved, it's not a foul. There's no rule here that says Pokémon cannot be used to change the field type," Apollo's cold voice rang out.

"It's a bit too late to panic now, isn't it? Tentacruel, use Surf again!"

"Roar~"

Tentacruel waved its tentacles, and an even larger wave surged forward, knocking Donphan out of the field and deciding the match.

Although he had been traveling with Ash and his friends during this time, Alex had not neglected the necessary training for his Pokémon.

What was even more remarkable was that he deliberately focused on strengthening the weaker aspects of his Pokémon, ensuring they had no discernible weaknesses.

For example, with Tentacruel and Gyarados, their large bodies made them less agile, so he concentrated on training their speed.

This directly resulted in the previous scene, where everyone saw Tentacruel waving its tentacles, and in an instant, Donphan was swept away by a giant wave.

The wave created by Tentacruel slowly receded to Alex's side, embodying the same wild dominance and coolness as Alex himself.

"Bang!"

With a loud crash, Donphan fell against the opposite wall, its eyes vacant.

"In this first round, Alex's Tentacruel wins. Xiao Zhen, please send out your second Pokémon."

Apollo's cruel voice broke Xiao Zhen from her daze.

"How can this be? Not only can you change the field, but your attack speed is also incredible! How can your Tentacruel be so agile?"

Xiao Zhen clearly couldn't believe that the previous attack was unleashed by Tentacruel in an instant.

It was truly an abnormal existence.

Not only her, but even the audience below was dumbfounded, their apprehension towards Alex deepening.

This unknown newcomer possessed such formidable strength. He would be a serious contender in this competition.

Definitely a tricky opponent.

The new members of Team Rocket, determined to win first place, all abandoned their underestimation of Alex.

His current strength was already enough to be a match for them, even far surpassing them.

"I feel a surging momentum in this child, a momentum that seems somewhat familiar..." Apollo mused as he watched the field with great interest. This newcomer was indeed impressive, and if he could win first place in this competition, bringing him under his command would be a wise choice. He would undoubtedly create greater profits for Boss Giovanni in the future.

However, Apollo was unaware of Alex's true identity. If he knew, he would likely want to eliminate Alex immediately.

"Darn it, I won't lose to you! So what if it's about speed? Go, Scyther!" Xiao Zhen declared in exasperation.

"Ding! Scyther, Bug/Flying-type Pokémon. Although Scyther's blade-like wings allow it to fly, it is rarely seen airborne. It uses its sharp scythes to cut through tall grass. Its movements are so fast that they are difficult for the eyes to follow.

Combat Power: 900

Learned moves: Whirlwind Blade, Slash, Swords Dance, Fury Cutter, X-Scissor, Agility, Quick Attack."

"It's nothing special; not that strong at all," Alex said mockingly.

"You dare to underestimate me? I'll make you regret it! Scyther, Quick Attack after Agility!"

Scyther charged at Alex's Tentacruel at a speed almost imperceptible to the naked eye, leaving no time to react.

"Tentacruel, are you alright?" Alex was startled by the astonishing speed, but seeing Tentacruel's reassuring gaze calmed him down.

"Jump into the water," he instructed, hoping to protect Tentacruel from further ambush.

"X-Scissor after Swords Dance!"

"Slam after Iron Defense!"

On the field, although Scyther was known for its Quick Attacks, Alex's Tentacruel managed to wave its tentacles and keep pace with Scyther, an insult to Scyther's agility.

The two Pokémon clashed repeatedly, with the spectators growing more excited as the sounds of impact filled the air.

"Boom!" After a tremendous crash, the two separated amidst a cloud of smoke.

Scyther stood on the ground, panting heavily, while Alex's Tentacruel floated calmly in the water, seemingly unharmed except for a slight fatigue.

At this point, it was clear who was stronger and who was weaker.

"You want me to surrender? Impossible! Scyther, Double Team after consecutive Swords Dances, then use Fury Cutter!"

"Tsk, Fury Cutter is a move whose power increases with each consecutive hit. I can't let it get a chance to hit Tentacruel."

"Tentacruel, use Reflect to block its attacks."

Scyther created many clones that launched fierce attacks from all directions toward Tentacruel.

Tentacruel calmly and continuously used Reflect, blocking each attack. Scyther's stamina steadily decreased, while Tentacruel remained at ease.

"Alright, that's enough playing, Tentacruel. Let's begin. Surround it with Reflect!" Alex clapped his hands.

Tentacruel's eyes glowed blue, and various light walls appeared in the air, trapping Scyther and preventing it from moving.

"Don't you pride yourself on speed? I've sealed your position; let's see how you win with speed. Tentacruel, give it the final blow—Acid!"

"Boom~"

As the smoke cleared, Scyther's eyes became swirls, and it lost its ability to battle.
