Chapter 59 - Chapter 58: Matter Solved

"Let me see." Misty said, rushing up to Venomoth.

Venomoth shook the hypnotic object in its hand, and Misty was instantly hypnotized. She began clapping her hands repeatedly, her eyes hazy, and making a 'wang wang' sound, resembling a seal.

"Misty, what's wrong with you?" Ash exclaimed, startled by her behavior.

"Misty is also affected by the sleep wave," Brock said, frowning.

At that moment, Misty suddenly pushed everyone aside and ran outside.

"Quick, follow Misty! This way, we might be able to find those missing children," Alex urged, sprinting after her.

Misty ran until she reached a large park in the center of the city.

When Alex and the others arrived, they found the park was filled with missing children, all of whom believed they were Pokémon.

Some were bouncing endlessly in the pond like Magikarp, others were crawling on trees like Caterpie, and some were flapping their arms like Pidgeotto. "These are all the missing children! So, they were all here," Officer Jenny noted.

"Brock, do you know what's going on?" Alex asked.

"It should be 'Reversion to Pokémon Syndrome,' similar to human atavism. This is due to the sleep wave from Venomoth that changes wavelengths, causing all the children to turn into Pokémon," Brock explained, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead.

"So Misty…" Ash looked at Misty, who was clapping her hands by the water.

"Alright everyone, wake up! Don't be like this, children; your parents are very worried about you. Come on, let's go home!" Officer Jenny gently tried to lead a child away, but was pushed aside.

"Oh, right! What if we ask Drowzee for help?" the butler who had followed suddenly suggested.

"Drowzee?"

"Yes, Drowzee emits dream wavelengths. Perhaps its wavelength can counteract Venomoth's wavelength."

"That's right! It's worth a try."

After Alex brought Misty back to the villa, the butler had Drowzee emit dream wavelengths toward Misty.

Soon after, Misty fell asleep. After a while, Drowzee clapped its hands, and Misty woke up.

"Misty, you need to become even cuter," Ash leaned close and said.

"What are you talking about? I'm already very cute, okay?" Misty snapped, standing up angrily.

"Alright, it looks like she's back to normal," Alex said with a smile.

"Let's have Drowzee's dream wavelengths introduced to the children in the park too," Officer Jenny suggested.

"Okay, let's hurry and help those children return to normal," Ash said, hoisting Drowzee onto his back and rushing out the door. Venomoth and the villa's mistress stood at the doorway watching them.

"What? I got Reversion to Pokémon Syndrome?" Misty exclaimed while running.

"That's right! You even turned into a Seel!"

Suddenly, a bright light appeared in the sky.

"What is that? It's coming this way," Misty said, stopping to look at the unidentified flying object.

"Since you asked so sincerely..."

"I will answer you with great compassion..."

Team Rocket was seen soaring in with gliders, landing directly at the villa's entrance.

"Venomoth and Drowzee will be taken by us, Team Rocket!" Jessie declared, pulling out a mirror.

"Can you make the people inside fall asleep? Watch this! Alright, betting on the reputation of the sleep wave master, make him fall asleep!"

Venomoth released its hypnotic wave towards the mirror, nearly hypnotizing itself.

At that moment, Ash picked up a flowerpot and smashed the mirror in Jessie's hand.

"Damn it! This was a plan we painstakingly came up with!" Jessie shouted angrily.

After that, she and James each took a whip and tied up Drowzee and Venomoth, starting to pull them in their direction.

"Damn it! Staryu, go!" Ash commanded.

Staryu spun in the air and cut the whips effortlessly.

"Damn it! Do you guys even know what you're doing? So annoying!" Alex complained, touching his throbbing vein.

"Gyarados, Hurricane!" Alex called, glaring at Team Rocket as he released Gyarados.

"Roar!" Gyarados let out an angry roar, unleashing a massive storm from its mouth. The force was so strong that it scraped away layers of the ground, sending Team Rocket flying.

"I'm going with the wind, floating around."

"What a nasty feeling, Meowth," James groaned.

"Don't just stand there, Ash! Let's go," Alex said, looking at the stunned Ash and the others.

At that moment, the few white-collar workers in the hall were also shocked by Gyarados's strength. They whispered among themselves, "This kid is too strong. It seems this plan can only be abandoned."

"And those three useless Team Rocket members—how disgraceful! Is Team Rocket full of such trash? If it weren't for them, we might have succeeded. With these two hypnotic Pokémon, we could achieve many things."

"Alright, talking about this now is useless. Since that's the case, let's retreat first."

"Okay, let's go."

After saying that, the two walked into the shadows, removing their formal attire to reveal colorful 'R's on the chests of their clothes.

Alex and the others brought Drowzee to Central Park, where Drowzee used its dream wavelength, directly waking up all the children, who then scattered and ran home.

"Don't forget to restore all the Pokémon at the Pokémon Center to normal too," Alex reminded Ash.

"That's right!" Ash agreed, and he, Alex, and the others took Drowzee to the Pokémon Center.

"That's great! Everyone is back to normal," Nurse Joy said with a smile.

"But I wonder what dreams the Pokémon are having?" Misty asked curiously.

"The matter has come to an end. Detective Ash's deductions are indeed invincible!" Ash said confidently.

"You didn't deduce anything," Alex pointed out.

"Exactly," Misty and Brock chimed in, looking at Ash disapprovingly.

"Why is there still a Pokémon here that looks distressed?" Alex asked, noticing Psyduck holding its head.

"How about this? We'll take care of this one. We'll send it back. Misty is a Water-type Pokémon Trainer, and Brock is a Pokémon Breeder," Alex said to Nurse Joy.

"Oh, that would be a great help," Nurse Joy replied, breathing a sigh of relief.

As they walked down the road, Psyduck followed behind Alex and the others, still holding its head.

"Why do I have to carry this silly Pokémon?" Misty complained, walking backward to look at Psyduck.

"Psyduck—a Pokémon that is always troubled by headaches," Alex's Pokédex chimed in.

"So this child has had a headache since the very beginning!" Misty suddenly pointed at Psyduck and exclaimed.

Suddenly, Misty tripped over a stone, causing a Poké Ball to fall out.

Psyduck, as if it knew what to do, opened the Poké Ball itself and went inside.

"That's great, Misty! You caught Psyduck!" Ash said, looking at her with excitement.

"Oh my goodness! Why did it run into my Poké Ball by itself?" Misty exclaimed, looking helpless.

Misty's Psyduck, which would become incredibly powerful in the future, was caught due to a chance remark of hers. What a blunder!

Alex watched Misty's exasperated expression and thought to himself, she would probably love Psyduck to death once she realized how strong it would become.
