Dozens of Killing Curses failed to hit their mark. Instead, because of Kyle's swift evasions, the lethal green jets flew past the spot where he had just been standing, striking other Death Eaters behind him.
In this single burst of dense crossfire, several more Death Eaters were killed or injured in the blink of an eye.
As Kyle cut deeper into the enemy formation, the pressure he faced mounted accordingly.
Having relied solely on his bare hands and supernatural strength up until now, he was finally forced to draw a mithril longsword from his pocket. While mowing down enemies like grass in the crowd, he also used the blade of his sword to parry the spells he couldn't dodge.
After slicing down a Death Eater, Kyle happened to pause right in front of another, his back turned directly toward him.
Seeing this perfect opportunity, a cruel grin spread across the Death Eater's face as his wand began to gather the green glow of Avada Kedavra.
Little did he expect, it was as if Kyle had eyes in the back of his head. Just as the faintest flicker of sickly green light flared at the tip of the wand, Kyle whirled around abruptly.
The wand was aimed straight at Kyle's chest. But before the Avada Kedavra could be released, the dark wizard was struck by a Fear Genjutsu cast through Kyle's Sharingan—and the light coalescing on his wand tip vanished without a trace.
With a single swift stroke of his sword, Kyle decapitated him on the spot.
Suddenly, a beam of sickly green light broke through the air. Sensing the motion, Kyle twisted his body violently, holding the sword in his right hand vertically before him.
The blade caught the Avada Kedavra with pinpoint precision. In a scene that nearly made everyone's eyes pop out of their sockets, the beam of the Killing Curse was split clean in two, veering off to hit two other Death Eaters on either side behind Kyle.
Struck by the Killing Curse, the two Death Eaters froze in the final moments of their lives, collapsing silently to the ground.
Not a single trace of life remained in them.
Sheathing his longsword, Kyle's figure traversed a distance of over ten meters in the flash of an eye. His free left hand clamped hard around the throat of the Death Eater who had just attempted the sneak attack.
"Do you too desire to dance?"
An extremely subtle ray of light sliced through the air, hurtling toward Kyle straight from his perceptual blind spot.
It was the sharp sixth sense he had honed amidst the hail of bullets in New York that saved his life. Following the wildly throbbing sense of danger in his chest, Kyle instinctively condensed a single rib of Susanoo at his side without a second thought.
The rib had only formed its basic outline when the Avada Kedavra struck Kyle—or more accurately, struck the Susanoo rib condensed at his flank.
Driven by the immense force of the impact, the rib formed of pure magic shifted sideways through the air for a short distance, slamming heavily against Kyle and sending his body flying through the air.
Flipping through the sky, being airborne with nowhere to leverage force was a precarious situation.
Kyle rapidly adjusted his balance, landing firmly on the ground, though the residual momentum still dragged him backward several meters before he came to a stop.
From the distance, Bellatrix's haughty, arrogant voice echoed through the night: "Don't you dare look down on us!"
Because the moonlight was obscured by dark clouds, even though distant tents were still ablaze, the Death Eaters could not see clearly through the dark.
Consequently, they had missed the moment when Kyle blocked Bellatrix's ambush. All they saw was Bellatrix's Killing Curse hitting Kyle, followed by Kyle flying back.
In their common knowledge, being hit by the Killing Curse equaled absolute death—a rule no one had ever broken except for Harry Potter.
Believing that Kyle was undoubtedly dead, they all erupted into raucous laughter.
Atop the stone pillar, Mads Mikkelsen looked down at the Death Eaters who were acting no different from total fools, letting out a disdainful chuckle.
Others might not have seen clearly, but from his high vantage point, he had a crystal-clear view of the battlefield below.
From out of the darkness came a sound.
Tap.
Tap.
Kyle straightened his back and slowly walked out from the dark, casually flicking away a speck of dust that had accidentally fallen onto his shoulder.
Seeing Kyle reappear, Bellatrix gritted her teeth in disbelief, "Tch..."
The other Death Eaters were equally shocked. Why...?
Will someone please tell them why this guy was hit point-blank by the Killing Curse, yet walked out completely unscathed?!
Ignoring their shock, Kyle brought his hands together, slowly forming the "Horse" hand seal.
"Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation!"
A burst of eerie, deep-blue flames erupted from Kyle's mouth like a spouting volcano. The flames expanded violently in an instant, surging forward like an overwhelming tsunami, bearing rolling waves of intense heat straight toward the Death Eaters before him.
Faced with such a massive, wide-range Fiendfyre-like inferno, every single Death Eater felt their hearts tremble with terror.
"Finite Incantatem!" Bellatrix was the first to react, forcefully driving her wand into the ground.
"Everyone, use your full power!" she roared frantically. "Or else we all die here!"
Snapping out of their daze, the Death Eaters slammed their wands into the earth one after another. A crack rapidly extended across the ground, and a scorching golden light burst forth from the fissure, coalescing into a glowing barrier before them.
The barely formed barrier collided violently with the sky-covering flames. A blinding flash of light exploded at the point of impact, temporarily blinding everyone present.
When the glare finally dissipated, the Death Eaters discovered to their horror that what awaited them next were dozens—if not hundreds—of scorching fireballs.
The blazing fireballs rained down like a meteor shower, making the campsite look as if dozens of volcanoes had erupted simultaneously.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Kyle launched another surprise attack.
Meanwhile, amidst the turmoil at the campsite, inside the tent belonging to Barty Crouch Sr., the Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation at the British Ministry of Magic:
A figure shrouded under an Invisibility Cloak and controlled by the Imperius Curse took advantage of the distraction when the house-elf guarding him looked away toward the commotion outside. Grabbing a pair of fire tongs from the fireplace, he knocked the house-elf out with a single strike.
The hood of the Invisibility Cloak was pulled back, revealing a rather haggard face.
His light blond hair was a messy, overgrown tangled heap due to long periods without a trim. Because he hadn't seen the sun in years, the man's complexion possessed a sickly, unnatural paleness.
Many people in the wizarding world would not find this face unfamiliar—it was Barty Crouch Sr.'s son, Barty Crouch Jr.
However, Barty Crouch Jr. was supposed to have been dead for many years.
Barty Jr. had once been a member of Voldemort's camp—no, even though Voldemort had fallen more than ten years ago, he remained Voldemort's most fanatical follower.
Back when Voldemort fell, Barty Jr. was personally sent to Azkaban by his ruthless father.
Not long after, he reportedly died of illness inside Azkaban.
In truth, his so-called death by illness was a scheme orchestrated by Barty Sr.'s wife—Barty Jr.'s mother.
After Barty Jr. was locked away in prison, his mother's health rapidly deteriorated due to constant worry over his safety.
Driven by a mother's deep love for her son, she persuaded her husband to let her take a draught of Polyjuice Potion when visiting Azkaban, allowing her to swap places with Barty Jr.
If a wizard who drinks Polyjuice Potion dies while the potion is still active, they will not revert to their original form even after the potion's duration expires.
After entering Azkaban, Barty Jr.'s mother, whose life was already like a flickering candle in the wind, passed away shortly after.
Even in her final moments, she made sure to take the Polyjuice Potion, terrified that its effects might wear off.
That was the complete story behind Barty Jr.'s jailbreak.
Afterward, fearing his son might escape, Crouch Sr. placed him under the Imperius Curse, wrapped him in an Invisibility Cloak, and commanded their house-elf, Winky, to keep watch over him twenty-four hours a day without interruption.
However, Crouch Sr. seemed to have forgotten that when a person is subjected to the Imperius Curse repeatedly, their resistance to the spell naturally builds over time.
Barty Crouch Jr. had long broken free from the control of the Imperius Curse. Pretending to be obedient and submissive was merely his way of waiting for an opportune moment to make his escape.
The chaos breaking out tonight was the absolute best time for him to take action.
