Originally, Kakashi had planned to wait for Jiraiya to return to the village and then ask him to take Yoruha to Mount Myōboku to learn Sage Arts.
But after their conversation just now, he decided to give up on that idea.
"Maybe when we're out on missions in the future, we can look for the locations of the Three Great Sage Lands ourselves," he said thoughtfully. "Someone in the shinobi world must know where at least one of them is."
Even though asking Jiraiya directly was probably impossible now, Kakashi still hadn't given up on finding a place where Yoruha could train in Sage Arts.
He was worried that if Yoruha's chakra continued to increase at this rate, his body might not be able to withstand it.
Yoruha walked to the edge of the lake and said calmly, "You're overthinking it. I don't feel any discomfort at all right now. With my current physique, handling this amount of chakra isn't a problem."
Of course, Yoruha understood his own body better than anyone.
If his body couldn't handle this much chakra, it wouldn't have produced it in the first place.
When the day came that his body could no longer bear any more chakra, it would simply mean that his chakra growth had reached its limit.
For now, though, his chakra was still doubling every day.
He could feel that in a few days, the growth would stop—or at least slow down.
Kakashi walked up beside him, speaking seriously: "You can't take this lightly. Chakra isn't something to play with."
"There have been plenty of shinobi who suffered serious injuries because their bodies couldn't keep up with the amount of chakra they possessed."
"By the way, speaking of the Three Great Sage Lands—shouldn't you have your own summoning beast by now?"
Yoruha glanced at him. "I don't think I need one yet."
Kakashi sighed. "It's a pity my own summoning beasts are mainly used for reconnaissance—they wouldn't really suit you."
The moment Yoruha imagined himself summoning a pack of ninja hounds, he felt uncomfortable all over.
"How about you make a summoning contract with my beasts for now?" Kakashi offered.
There were no rules against having multiple contracts—Sasuke, for instance, had two different summoning beasts.
It just depended on whether your chakra was strong enough to summon them.
Yoruha smiled awkwardly. "I think I'll pass. Your summoning beasts might not fit my style."
Kakashi thought about it and nodded. "That's true. Once we find the Three Great Sage Lands, you can make a contract with one of the creatures there."
"The Fourth Hokage's summoning contract was with Mount Myōboku, you know."
"Lord Jiraiya's too."
Yoruha looked puzzled and asked, "Kakashi-sensei, by that logic, you're the Fourth Hokage's student, so shouldn't your summoning beasts be the same as his?"
"Since Lord Jiraiya was the Fourth Hokage's teacher, and both shared the same summons, why didn't you inherit that as well?"
Kakashi chuckled. "Because my summoning beasts suit me perfectly—I never needed another kind."
"You already know what my summoning beasts are, don't you?"
Kakashi smiled knowingly as he looked at Yoruha.
He'd just realized that when Yoruha said Kakashi's summoning beasts weren't suitable for him earlier, it sounded as if Yoruha already knew what they were.
Yoruha didn't bother hiding it. He admitted openly, "Yeah, I found out when I was checking your records."
In Konoha's library, information about well-known shinobi was public.
Though it was only general data, Kakashi wasn't surprised to hear it.
Still, it seemed like Yoruha had some distaste for his summons.
"So, you don't like my summoning beasts?" Kakashi asked, narrowing his eyes slightly.
Yoruha looked embarrassed and turned his head toward the lake.
"Kakashi-sensei, why don't you teach me a few Water Release jutsu instead? You must know a lot of them, right?"
It was an obvious attempt to change the subject.
Kakashi smirked. "You're still too young. You think having ninja hounds as summons isn't cool, don't you?"
Yoruha immediately denied it. "No, no! I think they're great."
He really wasn't fond of Kakashi's ninja hounds—not because he disliked them, but because they didn't add much to his combat power.
If anything, he'd probably have to protect them during a battle.
Kakashi didn't believe him. He gave a cold snort. "You're saying one thing and thinking another—but fine, you'll understand someday."
"So, what kind of Water Release jutsu do you want to learn?"
Yoruha thought for a moment. "Something defensive."
"Defensive, huh?" Kakashi rubbed his chin. "Let me think… Ah, I know. I'll teach you Water Formation Wall."
"It's a B-rank jutsu—moderately difficult, but for you, it should be no problem at all."
"Listen carefully, I'll explain how it works…"
After Kakashi explained the principles of the technique once, Yoruha already understood it.
Kakashi didn't demonstrate it himself but asked, "If I don't show you, can you still figure it out?"
"With your talent, I doubt that would be an issue."
He wanted to see just how far Yoruha's natural ability went.
After all, Yoruha had once learned Water Dragon Bullet just by watching Zabuza use it.
Yoruha nodded and stepped up to the lakeside.
He focused, gathering chakra within his body.
Suddenly, his hands clapped together and began weaving seals at incredible speed.
Clap!
"Water Release: Water Formation Wall!"
As Yoruha poured out chakra, it was as if the entire lake responded, being drawn toward him.
Rumble…
Water surged upward and rushed toward him, swirling rapidly.
Splash—!
In moments, the torrent around Yoruha formed into massive spiraling water columns.
The vortex grew so fierce that it created a small storm, flattening the grass along the shore.
The ground where the water passed was gouged out into deep trenches.
A water tornado more than ten meters wide surrounded Yoruha.
Watching from a distance, Kakashi's mouth twitched. "Is that really Water Formation Wall?"
"This looks more like a combination technique—it even shows traces of Wind Release."
"And the scale… it's way too big."
Still, he wasn't entirely shocked.
Compared to the three powerful jutsu Yoruha had already displayed before, this was relatively mild—even if it was far stronger than a normal Water Formation Wall.
Standing at the eye of the vortex, Yoruha pressed his hands together and focused again.
The spiraling water suddenly halted, then gathered before him, forming a towering wall of water over ten meters high and several dozen meters wide.
Kakashi smiled. "Now that's the Water Formation Wall. What you did earlier clearly had Wind Release mixed in."
This version—the massive water curtain—was the proper Water Formation Wall.
The earlier one had been clearly offensive in nature.
Kakashi knew that Yoruha had probably added Wind Release on a whim.
For most shinobi, modifying a jutsu like that was extremely dangerous—doing so could cause the technique to backfire.
But Yoruha had no such problem.
His chakra control was already incredibly precise.
Kakashi had worried at first, but after seeing Yoruha safely wield Lightning Release—an element far more volatile—he wasn't surprised anymore that Yoruha could casually blend Water and Wind Release.
