Cherreads

Chapter 50 - C50

Yoruha didn't notice the look of satisfaction on Kakashi's face.

After concentrating his chakra, he followed his own idea—gathering it into a single point and releasing it outward.

"Lightning Release: Chidori Sharp Spear!"

Crackle—

Splatter—

Rumble...

A golden beam of lightning shot out instantly from Yoruha's hand.

In the blink of an eye, the golden flash pierced through the forest hundreds of meters away, blasting a massive gap tens of meters wide into the woods across the lake.

Every tree at the impact zone was cut clean through.

Dozens of great trees crashed to the ground, their cut surfaces smooth as mirrors.

Kakashi was utterly stunned.

"This jutsu… is far stronger than I expected."

He truly hadn't imagined the technique's power would be this overwhelming.

Its range alone was shocking—but even at its farthest reach, the lightning still had enough force to carve a vacuum zone tens of meters wide through the forest.

Originally, Kakashi thought a Chidori Sharp Spear with a range of ten meters would already be impressive.

But Yoruha's version reached hundreds of meters—and still retained S-rank killing power at the end of its path.

Its speed was so great it could even be compared to natural lightning itself.

Normally, lightning created through chakra could never match the velocity of real lightning.

Yet the one Yoruha had just unleashed truly could.

In terms of destructive power, his improved "Chidori Sharp Spear" had already reached the level of an S-rank jutsu—

and one of exceptional practicality at that.

The attack range was simply incredible: hundreds of meters, and nearly instantaneous.

From the looks of it, Yoruha didn't even seem to have consumed much chakra.

Yoruha himself hadn't expected it to be this powerful.

In fact, he felt this version was far more useful than the original Chidori.

After all—if you can strike from afar, who would choose close combat?

"The power… really exceeded my expectations," Yoruha muttered, furrowing his brow.

Kakashi smiled. "You don't sound very happy about that?"

Yoruha shook his head. "I am happy—it just feels… unreal."

"My control over my own strength is still too poor. I can't yet gauge how powerful my techniques really are when I release them."

"In battle, that kind of weakness could be fatal."

Kakashi paused for a moment, unsure what to say as he looked at Yoruha's troubled expression.

If another ninja had such overwhelming power, they'd probably be grinning ear to ear.

But not only was Yoruha not proud—he immediately recognized his own shortcomings.

"No wonder you were always so quiet during those six years at the academy," Kakashi said softly.

"Control doesn't come overnight. You still have plenty of time. There's no need to rush."

Yoruha nodded, realizing he was being too hard on himself.

There was no way he could master all that power at once.

"Do you still have chakra left? The next jutsu is going to consume quite a lot," Kakashi asked worriedly.

Yoruha had already performed two techniques with S-rank power, both at immense scale.

If it had been Kakashi, even one would have drained him completely.

But Yoruha didn't look the least bit fatigued.

Kakashi couldn't help but marvel at how terrifying his chakra reserves were.

"Your chakra capacity might already rival Naruto's," Kakashi remarked with awe.

While focusing his chakra again, Yoruha replied,

"Not quite. After all, Naruto has the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed inside him."

Naruto being the Fourth Hokage's son was known only to a few, but the fact that he was the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki was something nearly everyone in the village knew.

That was also why he'd been ostracized.

Every village's jinchūriki suffered the same fate.

Until a jinchūriki could fully control their tailed beast, the villagers would never dare approach.

A single moment of carelessness could lead to a rampage—a catastrophe.

An unmastered jinchūriki was nothing short of a living bomb ready to explode.

No one would risk their lives on such uncertainty.

Kakashi could only sigh when Yoruha compared Naruto's Nine-Tails to ordinary chakra.

After all, who could possibly possess more chakra than the Nine-Tails?

No one in the entire shinobi world.

He wasn't sure exactly how vast the First Hokage's chakra reserves had been,

but even he doubted they surpassed the Nine-Tails.

(In truth, they did.)

As Yoruha finished speaking, lightning began to gather once more in his hand.

"Lightning Release: Chidori Senbon!"

Crackle—

Snap—

Zap, zap, zap…

In an instant, hundreds of golden lightning needles formed before him.

At his command, they shot out explosively—

piercing across hundreds of meters, vanishing like raindrops into the forest on the far side of the lake.

Unlike explosive jutsu, Chidori Senbon relied on pure piercing power.

"Let's go see the result," Yoruha said, running swiftly across the lake's surface.

Kakashi followed closely behind, eager to compare this to the previous technique.

When they reached the opposite forest, they saw the trees riddled with tiny, charred holes.

Yoruha examined them closely and nodded with satisfaction.

"Good penetration. Even after traveling hundreds of meters, it still pierced trees this thick.

If that were a human body, the result would be the same."

Having already witnessed the destructive power of Chidori Sharp Spear,

Kakashi wasn't as shocked this time.

After inspecting more than a dozen trees, Yoruha finally gauged the jutsu's limit.

"It can pierce about fifteen trees in a row—not bad," he said, pleased.

Kakashi let out a wry smile.

"'Not bad'? This is terrifying power.

Those senbon flew hundreds of meters and still penetrated more than ten trees—

that's monstrous.

If you can use these two jutsu effectively in real combat,

even an elite jōnin wouldn't be your match."

"A twelve-year-old elite jōnin… that alone is astonishing."

"I wasn't wrong, was I? Your talent far surpasses mine.

Right now, your strength has already exceeded that of your teacher — Kimoto Tōichi."

Yoruha shook his head.

"These are just jutsu. I doubt my real combat experience could compare to Tōichi-sensei's."

Even though he'd mastered three techniques with S-rank destructive power,

Yoruha remained clear-headed.

Kimoto Tōichi was an ANBU jōnin—his real battle experience was on another level.

Kakashi looked at Yoruha's calm expression and couldn't help but feel exasperated.

"Your biggest problem is that you're too cautious.

Even if your combat experience can't match his, your raw power has already surpassed him by far.

The gap between your strength and his is so great that no amount of experience can make up for it."

"At this rate, it won't be long before you surpass even me," Kakashi said with a sigh—

though there wasn't a trace of jealousy in his tone, only pride.

After all, he had always treated Yoruha as his personal disciple—

someone he hoped would grow to be as strong and noble as the Fourth Hokage himself.

And Kakashi truly believed that, with Yoruha's character, he would one day achieve exactly that.
