Chapter 209 - Humiliation.

Produced by Antarctic Military Industries—how could its quality possibly be lower than a patched-up Wasp Suit?

And one developed by someone like Darren Krauss, no less.

In every aspect—materials, structural stability, energy output, combat response—it was a complete and overwhelming superiority over the Wasp.

The moment Darren felt the weight pressing down on his head, he realized someone was sitting on him.

Humiliation.

He was unwilling to accept it. Immediately, he activated the Wasp Suit's weapons and fired at Scott Lang.

But how could the Super Ant-Man suit developed by Antarctic Military Industries lack defensive countermeasures?

Scott didn't even bother to dodge.

The crimson beam struck his back—only to vanish into what seemed like a virtual energy shield. Not only did it fail to harm him, it didn't even produce a single spark.

Scott flipped over and drove a brutal punch straight into Darren's face.

How powerful was the Super Ant-Man?

The original second-generation Ant-Man had once been smashed into the ground by Wasp warriors. If not for sheer luck, he would have been finished.

But now?

Under the Super Ant-Man suit, Scott held the Wasp warrior down with one hand while the other fist rained down mercilessly onto Darren's face.

Only absolute, all-around superiority could create such suppression.

No tricks.

No fancy maneuvers.

No complicated tactics.

Just the most primitive, violent, and direct solution.

After several blinding punches that left Darren Krauss dazed and defenseless, Scott reached out and adjusted his converter.

The Wasp Suit was outdated. The Super Ant-Man suit could already automatically recognize brainwave changes. The Wasp still relied on physical buttons.

Scott pressed the button that forced a return to normal size.

In an instant, the Wasp was dragged back to full human scale by Ant-Man.

Scott Lang, having undergone systematic physical training under Antarctic Military Industries, expanded simultaneously—seizing Darren as he did so.

From Darren's attempt to flee, to Super Ant-Man's intervention, to his capture—

The entire process had taken only seconds.

Before anyone could even track the location of the two ant-sized figures, they had already reverted to their original forms.

And Darren Krauss—who moments ago had seemed invincible—was now being held like a criminal by a man who had appeared out of nowhere.

Old Pym stared at the Super Ant-Man suit on Scott Lang, his lips trembling with excitement and astonishment.

That Antarctic-produced combat suit, evolved from his own Ant-Man design, was several generations ahead. Even the exterior alone radiated advanced sophistication.

By comparison, his own Ant-Man suit now looked almost like a costume.

Scott unceremoniously tore off the yellow warrior's hood, revealing Darren Krauss beneath.

Darren's face was so swollen and bruised it was barely recognizable.

It would not be an exaggeration to say he had been beaten beyond recognition.

Old Pym finally exhaled in relief. It had been a false alarm.

But he had not expected Antarctic Military Industries to have developed the Super Ant-Man project to this extent without his direct guidance.

Without relying on the original Ant-Man at all.

To reach such heights purely through independent research—

It left him feeling…

A little lost.

Was he becoming obsolete?

"Dr. Pym," Xu Dan asked calmly, "is there anything else you'd like to say to your precious student?"

There wasn't the slightest ripple in his expression regarding Darren's attack. With a single thought, he could have erased Krauss from existence.

Besides, Scott Lang was here.

Scott had been struggling to find work. When Xu Dan personally invited him, he had been overwhelmed with gratitude—willing to do anything.

He wanted to prove himself to his daughter. To let her know her father was a hero.

After systematic training, he had successfully become a test pilot for the Super Ant-Man project.

Xu Dan had seen the tests. He knew how hard Scott had worked after donning the suit.

Old Pym shook his head.

"No. Nothing more."

"Very well. Take him away," Xu Dan said.

"Yes, boss," Scott Lang replied respectfully, escorting Darren Krauss out.

Watching them leave, Xu Dan smiled and turned to Pym.

"So? This is the Scott Lang I mentioned. As long as you authorize it, he can be your successor."

Old Pym glared.

"Stop mocking me. He's already that powerful. You might as well rename him. What—Change-Man? Bug-Man? My Ant-Man title doesn't even deserve him anymore."

Seeing the old man bristling indignantly, Xu Dan smiled and wisely refrained from pushing further. Angering him now would not help future quantum research.

"By the way, old man, from now on you'll work on my side. I'll provide you with the most advanced technology in the world—and help you find your wife as soon as possible."

Old Pym's expression changed immediately.

"Why are you so obsessed with my wife? She was very beautiful when she was young. Even if she's my age now, you're not allowed to have improper thoughts! Be careful—I'll sue you!"

"Relax. I don't."

"You'd better not!" Pym warned stiffly.

He knew the Quantum Realm was mysterious beyond comprehension. If his wife truly remained there, no one knew what state she might be in now.

Perhaps unchanged.

Perhaps aged.

Perhaps physically altered in ways unimaginable.

Too many unknowns.

"Are you sure you don't want Scott Lang as your successor?" Xu Dan continued lightly. "The Ant-Man name may not be globally famous, but it has loyal supporters. When you're gone, it'll disappear."

"Why are you so determined to place that man beside me?" Old Pym asked darkly. "Does this have something to do with my wife?"

Even asking the question made him uncomfortable.

Xu Dan touched the tip of his nose.

He couldn't very well say that in another timeline, Pym's wife had once possessed Scott Lang's body.

That hadn't happened here.

He couldn't say they were somehow destined.

And telling Pym that might make him challenge Scott to a duel on the spot.

"It's nothing," Xu Dan replied casually. "I just see you as an old man living alone in this world and thought you could use some company."

"I still have a daughter!" Old Pym retorted indignantly.
