Emily's POV
Friday arrived with the swift inevitability of all anticipated things.
The assessment at Delphine Academy was everything I'd hoped for and more. The building itself was beautiful, all high ceilings and gleaming wood floors, with walls covered in photographs of dancers in graceful poses. Madame Caroline was warm and encouraging, watching Lily move through basic positions with an expert eye.
"She has natural grace," Madame Caroline told me afterward, while Lily changed back into her regular clothes. "Raw, untrained, but definitely there. With proper instruction, she could be quite good."
My throat tightened with pride. "So she's accepted?"
"Absolutely. We'd love to have her. Three times a week to start—Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, four to six o'clock. Does that work for your schedule?"
"It's perfect," I managed, blinking back tears. "Thank you. Thank you so much."
When I told Lily in the car, she screamed so loud I nearly swerved off the road.
