Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: Development and Seed

Neues Reich…

A period of peace and development had arrived on the world of Neues Reich. All nations underwent growth in different ways.

The losing nations had an incredible boom in fertility, a phenomena that the leaders of the various nations had understood as the blessing of the Sun. When a large population of a nation died, their fertility would conversely increase until the dead population was replaced with children.

Even the winning nations of the Tsardom of Moscow and the Dual Monarchy, both of who also received their fair share of deaths on the battlefield during the World War, underwent a period of rapid child creation.

Only the German Reich, with its low number of casualties, did not receive a boom in population. In fact, the only thing the nation received from this war was total domination over the economy and military of another nation.

Hohenzollern, a defeated nation protected by the will of the Sun, not only rapidly developed a workforce that could come into effect within the next two decades, but also rapidly advanced its technology.

They understood that against Rank 3 Magi, normal bullets were ineffective, and cannons were too slow to deal any damage to the agile Magi. As such, both their war and civilian technology rapidly advanced.

And because the German Reich controlled everything in this nation, they were also leeching off on these technological advances, using their best minds to put them into effect within their Magical nation.

And while this technological progress, population recovery, and magical research towards the fames Rank 4 was underway, a notification went to each of the leaders of the various nations. Be they kings, presidents, or rulers under different terms, they all received a blue screen that paired together with the already existing blue screen containing the Rankings (Neues Reich).

This new panel contained simple words they all understood; Trading platform.

A number of collective energy was written on the screen. They could use Collective Energy in order to put up things on the trading platform, or use a lot more Collective Energy to purchase the things on the platform.

Of course, James had siphoned off 5% of the collective energy that would have been sent over to him from each nation, and sent it to the leaders of their respective nation, along with instructions on how to use it.

Of course, he set it up in such a way that the stuff these leaders put up for sale would also come up onto the star-system trade platform, allowing other race spirits to make purchases; however unlikely that was. But only things he decided were worth it would be put up for sale to the nation leaders from the star-cluster platform.

'Otherwise, the race spirits would definitely find some way to scam the nation leaders of their collective energy, making it such that I would effectively be constantly bleeding collective energy.'

'Plus, as time goes on, the purchasing power of these leaders would increase with growing populations, allowing them to make more trades through the trading platform.'

It took him some more time to perfect the trading platform before he returned his attention to the seed that was on the way. This was a rather important little thing for his plans, and he needed it to work out properly else there would be too many issues for his race to solve on their own once Rank 4 or higher Magi began appearing.

Once the seed appeared, he noticed it had landed on the trading post location; which coincidentally within the German Reich.

James had built the system such that the star-cluster trading platform fed into the local platform, and allowed any items to appear on the locations of any of the trading posts, based on his decision. And he chose the German Reich as it was the most likely to survive in a relatively stable condition for at least the rest of the era, which was about 310 odd years.

German Reich, Neues Reich…

The middle-aged Armin II looked at the item with fascination. It had appeared in the palace courtyard, the location that was designated as the trading platform location by the Great Sun.

The item was then brought to him by his guards, and he picked up the fist-sized seed. This was the seed of a mana vine, as the Great Sun put it, and it was his, or rather the German Reich's gift by the Great Sun.

"What does it do?" Eric asked while standing beside Main Von Albert, who had come here for a small chat with his grandson, only to be interrupted by the message of a gift by the Great Sun.

"The Great Sun, in all His divine glory, stated that this plant will replenish the mana within the planet, the mana that was gradually being absorbed by the Magi, allowing more powerful Magi to appear with time," Armin II muttered while looking at the ridged pattern that made the seed look more like a fossil.

"We should try and recreate it first. Study it!" Main Von Albert said while stroking the grey beard that he had grown on his face over time, to add to the whole 'aesthetic look' as Eric named it.

"No! The Great Sun said to plant it. He also said to guard it even if the entire nation were to fall," Armin II muttered while tracing his fingers along the rock-like seed.

"Sigh… Unfortunate. You go ahead and finish this, I'm going back to trying to break through to Rank 4," Main sighed as he realised his grandson was too absorbed in the seed to pay much attention to him or his advice for now.

Eric bowed to the king before following behind his teacher with hurried footsteps.
