Chapter 141 - Chapter 141: Rekindled Romance!

A Green Turn and A Rousing Night

"Why is it green?" Carol held her chest, completely puzzled. "It was purple before; how did it change?"

Luke's gaze lingered for a long moment on the high, bare-skinned mounds, barely covered by any fabric, before he reluctantly moved to other areas.

"Green is good. It's environmental, natural, and full of elasticity."

"Elasticity?"

Carol froze, noticing the highly improper look in Luke's eyes. Her face instantly flushed. "Where are you looking? I'll dig your eyes out if you look there again."

Luke chuckled, making no effort to hold back, his eyes sweeping over the sensitive areas even more brazenly.

"You're not just prettier after a few months; you've also gotten bigger."

"Get out!"

Carol pulled the bedsheet over her body. You scumbag, don't you dare try anything with me.

Luke pressed his lips together in mock disappointment. He raised a hand and pointed.

"Look, a UFO!"

Carol instinctively turned around, but there was nothing behind her—no UFO at all. Just as she realized she'd been tricked, a familiar scent rushed toward her, and her body fell heavily onto the sofa.

"Bastard, let go of me!"

"Don't tear it, you'll ruin it..."

"Let me change my clothes!"

The muffled cries gradually morphed into the sounds of a mating cat. In the hall, Phantom Unit 1 discreetly shut its electronic eye.

The Watcher and The Threat

The villa sat in the suburbs, surrounded by lush vegetation and pleasant scenery. Five hundred meters to the right was an artificial lake. The mysterious woman hovered over the lake, silently watching the faintly lit villa.

Just moments ago, she had lost her psychic connection with her Queen, unable to communicate telepathically. The Star Sapphire crystal, which governs the Queen's lineage, emits a unique psychic signature to identify the new ruler.

What puzzled her was that this signature had completely vanished. She desperately wanted to go inside to see what had happened, but the combat power displayed by the black battlesuit made her hesitate.

As an elite Zamaron warrior and a Ring bearer, Villian was confident she could defeat the black battlesuit. However, the problem was that her Queen deeply loved the suit's pilot. If a conflict broke out, she might find herself on the opposing side.

This was the most troublesome part.

"This is as far as I can go tonight. There is still time; there will be an opportunity."

"Your Majesty, I hope you wake up soon and understand the meaning of being a Queen. A ruler does not need emotion."

A Scold and A Confession

The night deepened, and the mating cat's calls continued intermittently until the sun rose. It wasn't until a hungry wolf, whose peaceful sleep had been disturbed, let out a howl that the cat finally returned to its nest.

At ten in the morning, in the villa's living room, the two were affectionately nestled on the sofa in their pajamas, enjoying breakfast while watching a television report about the entertainment district.

The news was highly sensational, and the content even more explosive, especially the footage showing dozens, even hundreds, of naked girls scrambling out—it was pure chaos.

Thanks to Luke's influence over the years, the local station dared not mention "Young Master Shaw's" name. Instead, they focused on the "Purple Light Woman." The report included a video where "Carol," in her sexy battlesuit, made purple spears appear from thin air with a raise of her hand. The spears were immensely powerful, capable of piercing concrete walls in a single hit.

The individuals interviewed uniformly described the Purple Light Woman as a demon, a super-criminal with superpowers who was extremely destructive and terrifying.

Fortunately, timely rescues ensured the incident at the entertainment district did not result in any fatalities, only injuries to some girls during their escape.

It was reported that the FBI Special Investigation Team had taken over the case, classifying it as a metahuman attack.

After watching the report, Carol could not hide her worry.

"Will they trace it back to me?"

"Don't worry, I modified the nightclub footage. No one knows that was you."

"But the security guards, and all those people..."

Luke pulled her into his arms, comforting her quietly. "You're the CEO of Ferris Aircraft. Even if someone recognizes your face, they won't link the two of you together."

"What about the FBI?"

"They wouldn't dare."

"Why?"

"Because you're my woman. In Coast City, no one dares to touch Young Master Shaw's people."

"Oh, stop your sheer bragging."

Carol lightly punched him, then took out the ring, looking curious.

"Is this ring that stone?"

"That's right!"

"How did you do it?"

"I told it: Carol Ferris is the most beautiful and intellectual woman in the world, and then the stone turned into a ring. It seems it agreed with me."

The girl rolled her eyes dramatically. She put the ring on her soft finger and held it up to the sunlight, looking at it back and forth. After their intensive activity last night, she had already learned to control the ring's energy, transforming and reverting at will.

Luke took a bite of an apple and said, "Now, you need to tell me what happened last night."

At the mention of it, the smile instantly vanished from Carol's face.

"I'm not entirely sure myself. About half a month after you left Coast City, a voice suddenly appeared in my head after work one day. At first, I thought it was an auditory hallucination, but the voice became clearer and clearer, like it was echoing right in my ear."

"The voice told me that the Star Sapphire Crystal had chosen me to be their Queen, and that I needed to leave Earth and go to a planet called Zamaron to inherit the throne. I'm not stupid; how could I believe such nonsense? But no matter how much I refused, that person wouldn't back off. She kept talking in my head every so often. You don't know how I got through that time; I almost had a nervous breakdown."

Luke sighed helplessly. "Why didn't you tell me?"

Carol snorted.

"Why should I tell you? You're nothing to me!"

Luke: "..."

"Okay, what happened next?"

"Later, I secretly hired a private investigator to see if someone was following me, but after two months, they found nothing. I had no other choice but to ignore it. She could talk all she wanted."

"How much information do you know about that person? Did she tell you her hiding place?"

The girl thought carefully, then shook her head. "No. She only told me the Queen's mission and duties, and some of Zamaron's history. Nothing else was mentioned."

"Are you certain?"

Carol nodded solemnly.

"I tried many times to learn about her personal situation, but she was extremely cautious and wouldn't reveal a single word."

"That's going to be a problem."

Luke sighed internally, his brow furrowed. During the battle last night, he had Ava scan all suspicious targets within a 1,500-meter radius, yet nothing was detected. Logically, that person regarded Carol as the Queen candidate, so she should have been nearby when that happened, but she never appeared.

Why is that?

Is it that Earth technology can't detect her presence, or is she observing from an extremely remote location using some kind of technology?

Carol worriedly asked,

"Luke, what if she controls me again and attacks you?"

"Don't worry. I'll find her and eliminate this threat."
