The Party Peaks
Unknowingly, the time had drifted to 9:30 PM.
The Capital of Fun officially entered its climax.
The girls, already frenzied, became even more manic under the influence of alcohol. Dozens of them rushed onto the stage, waving their bras and panties, dancing wildly. The crowd below cheered madly, yelling and splashing liquor up at them.
The mixture of alcohol and flesh pushed the atmosphere to its absolute peak.
The men were just as wild as the girls.
Dazed, Tony came to, and seeing the scene on stage, his eyes turned blood-red. He slammed a glass of liquor down his throat and said nothing else.
Wang Hu's situation was even more exaggerated. A group of women surrounded him, chanting in unison: "556, 557, 558, 559..." They were counting something, absolutely thrilled.
Tonight, he intended to show these superficial women what a real man was!
The Capital of Fun had gone mad, casting off the restraints of morality and ethics to return to a primitive state.
Luke realized this, but he didn't stop it. When you go out to have fun, you should enjoy yourself fully. What was the point of being secretive?
Of course, this was just a thought he kept to himself. If he actually let things get this out of hand, his grandfather would whip him from Coast City to Metropolis the next day.
The Shaw family produced respectable figures. They could be poor, but they could never lose face.
"What a shame!"
Luke sighed deeply, picked up his drink, and finished it in one gulp.
Dior walked over and whispered in his ear,
"Danny's business is finished."
Luke acknowledged him. "How many?"
Dior held up his index finger, curling the tip inward (indicating seven).
Luke nodded and smiled.
"Twenty-three minus seven. Not too many, not too few. He showed good judgment. Quite talented."
The Star Sapphire Arrives
Just as he spoke, a commotion erupted at the entrance.
A security guard crashed into a vase, stumbling and rolling down the stairs to the floor. The next second, two more guards flew out, moving so fast it looked as if they'd been hit by a train.
Two girls couldn't dodge in time and were also sent flying. The scene immediately devolved into chaos.
The sudden turn of events brought a brief moment of silence to the room.
The confused partygoers turned to look at the main entrance. Violet light illuminated the room, and a scantily clad girl, shimmering with purple energy, appeared in their sight.
The girl had exquisite features, her eyes blazing with purple light. Her feet were off the ground, suspended in mid-air, and her hair danced around her like a mythical goddess.
She wore a unique crescent moon circlet on her forehead and a purple, skin-tight catsuit made with minimal fabric. Her thighs, abdomen, collarbone, and back were all exposed. Her figure was already magnificent, but the outfit accentuated her curves perfectly—a truly exceptional sight. Not just men, even women found her breathtaking.
"Who is she? What an amazing figure!"
"She can fly? Is it magic?"
"It must be a superpower!"
"This is Coast City, not Metropolis."
"Metropolis isn't the only place with metahumans. Did you forget Kid Flash and Steel Girl?"
"So, she's a superhero?"
"Who knows?"
The crowd buzzed with curiosity.
The informed manager rushed over, assessed the situation, and determined that force wouldn't solve the problem. He could only suppress his frustration and ask with a forced smile,
"Miss, is there something we can help you with at The Capital of Fun?"
"Where is he?"
The manager chuckled. "I don't know which 'he' you're referring to. We have hundreds of 'hims' here."
"Carol" ignored him. Her gaze pierced through the crowd and landed on the VIP section on the second floor. Luke seemed to sense her focus, pushed the girls away, and stepped up to the railing to look down.
Their eyes met mid-air. One pair was filled with murderous intent, the other with shock and confusion.
"Carol?"
"No, that's not right!"
"That outfit, the purple glow... you've got to be kidding me! Star Sapphire!"
The realization caused Luke's face to change dramatically. Without a word, he turned to run. Carol—or rather, Star Sapphire—let out a low roar and rapidly flew towards the second floor. Mid-flight, she raised her arm, and a purple energy spear shot out.
The spear tore through the air, making a sharp, whistling sound.
Luke clenched his fist, his arm instantly covered by the black battlesuit. He put all his strength into swatting the spear aside. Before he could take a breath, the scene below made him want to curse.
Star Sapphire hovered above. Her hands were spread wide, her perfect body exposed under the lights. Behind her, dozens of energy spears were lined up, densely packed, a chilling sight.
If she unleashed those, the entire second floor would be reduced to rubble.
The girls watching the spectacle below finally realized something was very wrong. The purple woman wasn't a superhero; she was here to kill. The quiet club instantly descended into pandemonium. Girls screamed and scrambled toward the main exit, utterly oblivious to their exposed bodies.
Dior rushed out of the VIP room. Seeing the face that strongly resembled the "Boss's girl," he felt a strange sense of confusion, yet he didn't hesitate to attack. With a flick of his wrist, an intricately crafted surgical knife appeared in his palm.
Since the age of eight, he had trained in throwing weapons under the Hongmen elders. Over a decade, he had achieved perfect mind-body control and accuracy. He raised his hand and flung the knife. A silver flash cut through the air, aiming straight for the center of Star Sapphire's forehead.
DING!
A purple energy barrier instantly materialized, blocking the flying knife's path.
Failing to connect, Dior wasn't discouraged. He shook his arms, and three surgical knives appeared in each palm.
He sprinted down the corridor, throwing knives at Star Sapphire from various angles as he ran.
The silver flashes were all blocked by the barrier without exception. His always-effective knives were useless.
Dior's expression darkened. He was about to deploy a secret weapon when Luke's voice rang in his ear.
"Take Tony and Wang Hu and get out now. I'll handle this."
Dior hesitated for a second, then turned and rushed to the corner. He hoisted the dark-eyed Tony onto his shoulder and, along with the shaky-legged Wang Hu, quickly left through the back door.
The Capital of Fun was in utter chaos. The scantily clad girls were jammed at the doorway, pushing and shoving in a frantic frenzy.
Seeing this, Luke immediately abandoned the idea of a dark escape. Turning off the power would likely cause a deadly stampede.
"Ava!"
"I'm here, Young Master."
"Bring Phantom Unit 1 over."
"Initiated. Arriving in one minute and fifty seconds." She paused, then added, "Shall I notify Miss Danvers?"
"No. If she comes, it'll only be more trouble."
One Star Sapphire was headache enough; if Supergirl got involved, who knew what would happen.
"Young Master, I recommend shutting down the second-floor power."
Luke considered it and nodded slightly. The next second, the second-floor lights vanished, plunging the area into darkness. Star Sapphire's eyebrow twitched. She raised a hand, and dozens of energy spears rained down.
