Chapter 125 - Chapter 125: The Hongmen and the Yakuza

The Heavenly Pivot Divine Blade

"The Heavenly Pivot Divine Blade was created in the 11th century. It is a peerless treasure sword forged by the three greatest swordsmiths of the time, commissioned by the Emperor, using an extraterrestrial meteorite as its base and various rare metals. It's said that the blade is as black as ink, without any shine, and when struck, it sounds like paulownia wood, devoid of a metallic ring. The cutting edge is etched with red markings, and whenever it encounters blood, the red lines will swell and release a ferocious, murderous aura."

The old beggar strolled over, his hands clasped behind his back, maintaining the posture of an aloof master despite his tattered clothes.

He reached out, grasped the hilt, flicked a finger, and a drop of blood landed on the edge. The blood seeped into the blade, absorbed instantly. The red markings on the edge began to glow, and a savage, beast-like killing intent radiated outward.

"It truly is the Heavenly Pivot Divine Blade!"

The old beggar murmured to himself. Internal energy leaked from his palm, enveloping the entire blade. He raised his hand and swung it, and a crescent-shaped light swept past a wooden post several meters away.

Without a sound, the post was severed into two halves, the cut clean and smooth as a mirror.

Holy crap!

Luke's eyes widened. He was astonished. He had always known the old man could hurt people from a distance, but he hadn't expected him to be capable of an invisible 'sword energy.'

"What a knife! Truly a great knife!"

The old beggar caressed the blade, clearly reluctant to part with it. He paused, then said,

"Changlin Shaw, how about giving me face on this one?"

"Get lost!"

The old man was utterly impolite, reaching out to snatch the sword back. "This is a gift from my grandson to me! Give it to you? You wish."

The old beggar was rebuffed and stood sullenly to the side, occasionally sneaking a peek. It was clear he badly wanted the blade.

Lin Fu (Grandpa Fu) stroked his beard, a look of confusion on his face.

"I've also heard stories of the Heavenly Pivot Divine Blade. It's said that the founder of the Yakuza, Yamaguchi Harukichi, acquired it a hundred years ago, and it became the Yakuza's most treasured artifact, a symbol of fortune to successive bosses. How did you get your hands on it, boy?"

Luke smiled. "Grandpa Fu remembers the bloody incident at the Yakuza headquarters at the beginning of the year? An unknown female warrior broke into the HQ and nearly burned the entire mountain down. The Heavenly Pivot Divine Blade went missing afterward. Those fools in the Yakuza sealed the news for the sake of their reputation, only daring to investigate privately. So, I followed the trail and simply intercepted the prize."

"Grandpa often told me when I was little that among all the gangs in the world, only the Yakuza weren't mother-raised. It seems you had quite a few old scores to settle with them back in the day. As your grandson, of course, I have to avenge you."

"The Yakuza's greatest treasure: the Heavenly Pivot Divine Blade. Grandpa, do you like this gift?"

"Like it! I love it!"

The old man slapped his thigh and burst into laughter. "See that? That's my grandson, the grandson of Changlin Shaw! You two fools, who among you has a grandson like this?"

Lin Fu looked disgruntled and kept silent. The old beggar snorted, pretending to look haughtily at the sky.

"Good grandson, well done. Tonight, I'm going to use the Yakuza's sacred treasure, the Heavenly Pivot Divine Blade, to barbecue chicken legs. You stand by and take pictures to send to that cowardly bastard, Yamaguchi Masao. I want him to spit blood from anger."

The old beggar opened his mouth but could only sigh. Such a divine weapon, used for barbecue—what a waste of natural resources.

Luke agreed. "Chicken legs grilled with the Heavenly Pivot Divine Blade will certainly have a unique flavor. How about we invite the other old timers from the gang to come over and barbecue with us?"

"Great idea!"

The old man's eyes sparkled. He immediately instructed, "Number Two [Lin Fu], call those old geezers and tell them to come over tonight."

"Will do! I'm going right now."

Lin Fu was also a lawless character and didn't think about the consequences. At worst, it would start a gang war—it certainly wouldn't be the first time.

The old man casually tossed the sword back into the box.

"I love all three gifts, grandson. What are the last two?"

"The fourth gift, I had the maid put in your room. You can try it out when you go back tonight. As for the fifth one, it's quite special. I customized it for you myself."

Luke reached out and pressed down on the old man's legs twice, lowering his voice.

"Since that stroke four years ago, you haven't had any feeling in your legs. I know you hate being in a wheelchair, and you hate being seen as crippled. As your descendant, I feel the same way."

The old man was startled. "You..."

"Grandpa, sit still first."

Luke took a glass vial from his pocket. The lid came off, and a blue stream of air swirled out, turning into specks of starlight when it hit the air. When the sun hit it, it shimmered with a dreamlike quality.

"This is a special liquid I found from an alien civilization. It has extremely powerful restorative effects on nerve and muscle tissue. Grandpa, drink it."

The old man was hesitant. "Are you sure this stuff is drinkable?"

"Relax, it'll be fine."

The old man said no more, picked up the vial, and poured it down his throat.

The blue liquid began to glow the moment it made contact with flesh and blood. Consequently, the old man's body also began to glow, the blue light seeping through his muscles, painting his skin with a strange hue.

The old man felt something was wrong and was about to ask, when suddenly, a stinging, needle-like pain came from all over his body. He let out a muffled roar. The pain grew stronger, churning and twisting, as if his internal organs were shifting.

"Grandpa, hold on. It'll be over soon."

The old man nodded hard, gritting his teeth, fighting the agony with all his might.

Seeing him tremble uncontrollably, Luke frowned. The blue liquid came from Kryptonian civilization. It was a miraculous healing drug that could fully repair damaged internal tissues without harming healthy ones.

The fact that the old man was in such pain indicated his internal injuries were far more extensive than imagined.

It made sense. The gang conflicts of that era were far more brutal than they are now. With constant feuding between major gangs and even factions within the Hongmen , the old man joined the Hongmen at the age of twelve and rose from the lowest disciple to the position of Boss. No one but him knew how many battles he'd fought.

The pain lasted for three minutes before it began to recede. The sweating old man clutched his chest and coughed violently. Clots of dark red blood sprayed from his mouth onto the ground.

"Grandpa, are you alright?"

The old man forced a smile.

"Satisfying. Truly satisfying. And my legs—" He pinched his thigh. "They don't even hurt anymore."

Luke instantly relaxed, wiping the sweat from his forehead. He laughed.

"It's good that you feel pain! Feeling means the leg nerves are starting to repair. After a few days of rest, you'll be able to walk."

"No rush! No rush!"

The old man waved his hand. He suddenly seemed to remember something and let out a long sigh, his eyes filled with sorrow.

"Little Luke, thank you. Thank you for preparing so many gifts. Honestly, you are much stronger than your grandfather. If I had even one-tenth of your ability when I was young, I wouldn't have lost your mother so early."

Mentioning his deceased daughter, he couldn't help but cry. Tears streamed down his aged cheeks, a sight that was heartbreaking to behold.

"Alright, let's not talk about sad things. Tell me about you. In two months, you'll be eighteen. You need to plan for your future. You can't keep messing around like this."

"And those little hussies... those girlfriends... how are you planning to deal with them?"
