It was dusk, the twilight between afternoon and night.
A parallel World.
New York, Queens, Central Street.
On top of a large church building hundreds of meters high, at the spire of the four-sided church clock, there was no space for a person to stand, and pigeons occasionally flapped their wings and flew by.
A tall being in a red and blue Spider suit leaned against it, his feet and back seemingly firmly stuck to the wall behind him, diagonally clinging to the outer wall high up on the church tower building's highest point, his Spider emblem on his chest shining in the twilight, and the two black lenses of his Spider hood reflecting the large city below.
He was named Peter Parker, and he was Spider-Man.
And the only Superhero in this World!
Ever since his adoptive father was shot and killed by a robber he had let escape, Spider-Man, upholding the life philosophy of "With great power comes great responsibility," had been fighting criminals and evil in the city as a Superhero, and ten years had passed since then!
As the special superhuman existence of Spider-Man, after experiencing initial societal doubts and insults, he was now loved and affirmed by the general public, and fashion magazines and streets were full of his cover posters.
He was the most popular NO.1 in this World; it was no exaggeration to say he was the King of the World!
"Today, it looks like another peaceful day!"
Spider-Man smacked his lips, gave a soft whistle, looked at the bustling city below, and stroked his chin, pondering, "I should just go back for dinner early, otherwise MJ will scold me again…"
A married man in his thirties, he was completely unable to act carefree.
Spider-Man shrugged, raised his hand, and was about to shoot a web to return home.
But at this moment.
From the road of the city street not far below, came a series of urgent and loud Police sirens!
Police were dispatched!
"Oh yeah, looks like there's work to do!"
Watching several Police cars with dazzling Police lights speeding on the road below, Spider-Man's eye lenses glowed slightly, the muscles under his Spider suit involuntarily bulged, and his originally lazy, strong body seemed to re-energize!
If he went home early, he would naturally go to bed early and pay his "public grain" (a euphemism for marital duties)… and that would be too much for his body!
Rather than going back so early, Spider-Man would rather have a hearty battle with a Super villain and return home later.
As the saying goes, a hero never returns!
...The Sun had not yet set.
Neon lights were already lit all over New York City, and the market was as bright as day, like a city that never sleeps!
Queens, a bustling and lively pedestrian street.
A large jewelry store located in a prime location on the street.
Even at night, there were still very few customers here, but most of them were wealthy individuals driving luxury cars and wearing expensive brands, and the female shop assistants were all fair-skinned, beautiful, and curvaceous, immediately greeting incoming customers with smiles, often resulting in a scene where there were several times more staff than customers.
At this moment.
"Welcome!"
Several female shop assistants, seeing a figure enter the main door, instinctively looked up, smiled, and called out, but then quickly stopped in unison.
They saw.
The person was wearing a white shirt and suit pants, with a Spider-Man plastic mask on his face. Although his face was not visible, from his figure, he was clearly a young student.
The masked boy was holding a common fruit knife in his hand. He scanned the store through the eyeholes of his mask, then lightly coughed and said in a deep voice, "This is a robbery!"
As his words fell, the store became silent!
The shop assistants and customers in the jewelry store were stunned for a moment, looking at the Spider-masked boy standing at the entrance. The large, luxurious store remained silent for a few more seconds, then everyone burst into laughter simultaneously.
"Hey! Kid, go home and drink your milk!"
"Hahaha, at least bring a gun!"
"Here it is, the funniest robbery of the year!"
The shop assistants also laughed so hard they bent over, swaying like flowers, their mouths unable to close: "Big sister has milk, do you want some?"
"Don't tease him, don't you see he's embarrassed?"
"Although he's not old, his figure is really good, he's my type…"
"You hussy!"
...Facing the roaring laughter and judgmental comments from the crowd, the Spider-masked boy took a deep breath. He simply threw the fruit knife directly to the ground, raised his right foot slightly, and then stomped it heavily on the ground!
Thump—!
The floor of the jewelry store's main hall cracked under the impact, spreading out in spiderweb-like fissures. Countless ceramic tile fragments within a meter exploded upwards, and the burst of several tons of force made the entire store tremble slightly!
On the scene.
Everyone's expressions froze; they could no longer laugh.
"Excuse me, can I rob now?" the masked boy asked earnestly… Woo woo!!
A Police car screeched to a halt at the entrance of the jewelry store. Three Police officers got out, drawing their pistols, while looking into the store and calling into their walkie-talkie, "I've arrived at the scene. The current situation at the scene—uh, not bad?"
Inside the jewelry store.
After letting the customers leave first, only the female shop assistants remained. The masked boy sat on a chair with his legs crossed, not forgetting to ask a shop assistant to make him a cup of hot coffee, with sugar and a little milk.
"Um. The jewelry is ready, Mr. Robber… Aren't you leaving?" The female shop owner approached with a bag of jewelry, asking hesitantly.
"Just leave it for now, no rush."
The masked boy said, and was about to take a sip of coffee, but realized he was wearing a mask. He frowned immediately and waved his hand, saying, "Please bring another straw!"
"OK!"
The female shop assistants immediately scurried to find a straw.
Outside the store.
The Police, leaning against the Police car and on high alert, had thick black lines on their foreheads.
They had seen robberies before, but never one like this!
"Captain, should we just rush in!" one Police officer suggested.
The Captain was hesitating when he heard another Police officer shout, "Captain, the robber is coming out!"
"What?!"
Under the startled gazes of the three Police officers, the masked boy seemed to finally notice their presence, raising his eyes to glance out of the store door.
Vincent put down his coffee cup and slowly walked out of the store with empty hands.
"Stop!!"
"If you don't stop, we'll shoot!"
The Police officers, startled, raised their pistols, using the Police car as cover, and shouted at the approaching masked boy.
The masked boy acted as if he hadn't heard, continuing to walk forward. The Police Captain couldn't help but pull the trigger and shoot, but saw the masked boy deftly turn sideways at the same time, as if he had anticipated the bullet's trajectory, or as if the bullets were cooperating with him, passing by harmlessly.
Not a single bullet landed on Vincent.
Under his Spider-Sense, Vincent could predict the bullets' movements and dodge in advance by observing the gun's aiming angle and the timing of the trigger pull.
"How is this possible!"
The Police were shocked by this sight. Before they could think too much, Vincent had already approached the Police car.
The masked boy bent down, his hand landing on the bottom of the Police car. As the muscles in his arms bulged, he lifted the Police car directly over his head!
Enveloped by the large Shadow cast by the Police car, the three Police officers' minds went blank, and for a moment, they thought they were doomed—
Thump!
The masked boy loosened his grip, and the Police car fell back to its original position, its windows groaning with vibration, and the ground trembling slightly.
"Now do you understand. You can't deal with me, so stay outside and don't bother me." The masked boy threw out a sentence, then turned and returned to the jewelry store, where the straw was already ready… The three Police officers looked at each other.
"Arrogant, this robber is too arrogant!"
The Captain gritted his teeth and said, "Request large troop reinforcements, and notify snipers to get into position!"
He paused, then shouted, "No! Quick, quickly go invite Spider-Man!"
A little while later.
A large Spider emblem cursor, in the form of a light and Shadow projection, was branded onto the New York City skyline, where night had just fallen… Three minutes later.
As several Police cars rushed over for support.
Above the pedestrian street, a agile male figure, like a Spider, swiftly swung from the corner at the end of the street, and the lights shone on him!
Seeing the presence in the red and blue Spider suit appear, the onlookers on the street, including the Police, immediately erupted in cheers: "Spider-Man is here!!"
"You're so enthusiastic, I'll get embarrassed. I'm not some big star, just your friendly neighborhood, whoosh!"
Spider-Man chattered a response, swinging on his web towards the jewelry store surrounded by Police cars.
Inside the store.
"He's finally here."
Vincent, dressed as the masked boy, murmured to himself. He handed the empty coffee cup, along with the straw, back to the female shop owner: "Thank you for your milk—cough cough, thank you for your coffee!"
"Is Mr. Robber going to escape?" The charming female shop owner blinked her beautiful eyes with a tear mole, actually showing some reluctance.
"Yes, goodbye!"
Vincent didn't pick up the jewelry bag on the floor next to him. The moment he stood up from the chair, he moved and fled through the back door of the jewelry store!
And so.
Crash—!
Spider-Man burst through the door. He scanned the female shop assistants inside the jewelry store, blinked, and said, "Robber—where is he?"
"He ran out the back door."
A shop assistant pointed towards the open back door of the store.
"You came all this way, and you still want to run?!"
Spider-Man didn't hesitate and immediately pursued him with swift action!
...The Spider-masked boy and Spider-Man were extremely fast. One sprinted, one swung, one in front and one behind, moving away from the previous bustling downtown area and quickly arriving at a relatively quiet part of the city.
The masked boy suddenly turned into an empty street alley.
Spider-Man lightly landed at the alley entrance. He smiled into the dark interior and said, "Little robber, you took a wrong turn. This alley is a dead end."
The masked boy, who had rushed deep into the alley, suddenly stopped. There was a wall in front of him; it really was a dead end with no escape!
"The one who took the wrong turn—is you."
Vincent turned back and said mysteriously to Spider-Man, who was stepping into the alley.
"What?"
Spider-Man continued to take a step forward in confusion, approaching within ten meters of the masked boy. Instantly, a feeling like static electricity surged through his heart!
His body's Spider-Sense triggered autonomously as never before!
"You are!"
Spider-Man was stunned, staring intently at the masked boy in front of him.
This person was—a kindred spirit!
Not just a superhuman kindred spirit, but one with the same Spider Physique!
"Gwen, now!" Vincent suddenly shouted.
Spider-Man's heart jolted. He heard a whooshing sound of webbing from behind him, and when he turned around, he found the alley entrance sealed by densely woven webs!
Another strange static feeling surged in his heart!
It wasn't just one person, but two, both with the Spider Physique!
"Oh no!"
With years of seasoned experience in fighting superhumans, Spider-Man immediately leaped up. His hands and feet landed on the outer wall ten meters above the alley. His limbs worked together in quick, rapid high-speed crawling, as he was about to escape towards the alley's still unsealed top.
Just as he was about to climb out of the alley from the top of an adjacent tall building, Spider-Man suddenly felt his right foot become much heavier. He looked down and saw the Spider-masked boy firmly gripping his ankle.
Spider-Man's left foot reacted extremely quickly, kicking the other's head, but he only felt his foot kicking against a steel plate, forged from fine steel, with no fleshiness!
This was Vincent's Body of Steel.
A Body of Steel with its own biological force field coordination. When facing non-aggressive touch or contact, the body would be as soft and warm as an ordinary person's, but once judged as an aggressive strike, the body would become as cold and hard as steel!
It would have been better if Spider-Man hadn't kicked; this time, it was like kicking an iron plate, causing his left foot immense pain!
At this moment.
Webs intertwined and fell, sealing the only opening to the outside at the top of the alley!
A short-haired girl, also wearing a Spider mask and a dress, leaped into the alley. She shot a web that firmly stuck to Spider-Man's back, and together with the masked boy who was holding Spider-Man's right ankle, they jointly pulled him down to the alley floor!
Spider-Man suddenly regretted that he was wearing his ordinary Spider suit at the moment… The alley was sealed by webs, and there was no retreat.
The falling Spider bit his lip, turned his head, and engaged in a fierce battle with the masked boy and girl, fighting from the air all the way to the ground!
Boom, boom, boom!!
Terrifying striking sounds continuously emanated from inside the sealed alley, and the walls and webs occasionally dented outwards into human-shaped protrusions!
Until five minutes later, everything returned to calm!
Inside the alley.
Vincent, who was the main combatant, had a tattered shirt, revealing his strong and undamaged upper body, with sweat sliding down his neck along his muscle curves. Next to him, Gwen, who was providing support, was relatively better off, though also panting and having expended a lot of physical strength and webbing.
In front of them.
The only Superhero in this World—Spider-Man, sat even more miserably on the broken ground, his arms and body bound by webs, as if he had been wrapped and tied into a large White cocoon.
"I should say, as expected of the only Superhero in this World…"
Vincent, who looked very much like a villain, exclaimed.
This Spider-Man's strength was a bit beyond his expectations. After all, their Super Spider abilities were the same, and even with him and Gwen working together, they couldn't take him down in a short time.
The opponent's combat skills and mastery of abilities were far beyond what the two of them could compare to.
At this moment, Spider-Man's heart was even more restless.
These two mysterious beings in front of him were very strong!
Not only did they possess Super Spider abilities, but they had also begun to skillfully master them, just like he himself had ten years ago.
The girl's use of webs was even more exquisite than his own… The most important thing was the masked boy.
His physique was too strange!
That unimaginable physical strength, surpassing steel, could absolutely not be possessed by the Super Spider gene! Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to develop a metal-material Spider suit before!
"You two… who exactly are you?"
His fists were still throbbing with pain. The defeated and bound Spider-Man looked at the two of them and asked again.
