Back home, Lana sat on her couch after the babies were in bed and the maccavities were tucked in upstairs. She thought back to a few days ago when she and her brother celebrated their birthday. Everyone was there. She had never had a birthday party so big before. The twins were given books, beast crystals, all kinds of wonderful things.
The cake was the best part, mainly because it was made with so much love. Lana ate 3 pieces. Even the babies got to enjoy some. They had chocolate all over their bodies, not just their faces. Everyone's faces were so bright and happy. The twins were now 18. It seemed funny she was the Family leader before she was a legal adult. The good thing for her, she was surrounded by good people.
Lana now sat staring at the books on the table. They were a bane for her but she also knew she needed the information within those pages. She couldn't explain it. Just as Sil somehow knew when he saw these books sitting on those shelves that his wife needed them, she somehow also knew she needed to learn them. She picked up the top book and began reading. Thirty minutes later, she was asleep.

Lana concluded her training session with her mother's sword for yet another day. She had already done two training sessions at the school. Recently, Sil had been involved with a conflict involving a boy named Shiro. He was a boy with no ability who had stabbed a monster of a boy who used his parent's position to give himself permission to abuse others.
The bully actually told his parent he was bullied by Shiro and his friends and fired the one boy's parents from their company. This infuriated Lana when Fiza told her. Communication was only permitted between child and parents but Fiza was an exception.
Lana was told Quinn dealt with the issue by calling Logan who proceeded to buy the company and give it to the Cursed Faction. Lana found the cure to the issue comical and was proud of the role her husband played. He saw that Shiro was involved in the incident and jumped in to help the boy with no ability. She intended to show him how proud she was when she went to the school next.
Mandy and Fiza began a daily patrol for bullies and were getting stronger in combat. They even included Mandy's boyfriend, Ian. Dawn was improving her skills and Lana was quite pleased. What Lana wasn't pleased with was the amount of time it was taking to learn magic. For two months she poured over those books and it was like a different language. She had no key to decipher it.
She decided, for now, she would switch back to studying the plant books she had, including those from the vampire world.
When next Lana saw Sil, he looked different. He looked like Chucky. Lana had trouble with the new look. She knew it was Sil but she couldn't get passed the strange appearance. He had gone to elemental class and Robin Graylash was teaching for the day. He had struck Sil with lightning for moving through the class. Sil was simply trying to see if anyone in the class had the ability he needed. Robin considered it a distraction. He sought the end the distraction.
The problem was, Sil didn't appreciate the attack. He toyed with Robin's apprentice to get Robin to fight him. Then he toyed with Robin to reveal who he was. Robin apologized and hastily left the room which caused the students in the hall to gather closely around him. He had to turn himself invisible to get away.
Shiro was there and saw the whole thing. He decided to follow Chucky but forgot what Chucky looked like. He discovered General Hardy was Quinn when he stayed behind in class to talk to Sil who was still invisible. Sil didn't mind talking to him and Shiro promised to keep the secret. Sil had to get a different mud mask from Peter and change classes because he became famous in a matter of hours.
Lana did have fun with it though. She grabbed his shirt and pulled him toward her after many hours of catching up and teaching Mandy and Fiza their next lesson. Chucky was once again in the spare room. The babies were sleeping on the floor in their room.
"You are so sexy and brilliant, you have to change your face to keep the girls off of you… and the boys," Lana chuckled.
"You are the only one allowed to touch me. I hate being way from you."
She leaned up and kissed him, "and I, you. Things are well at home. You brothers and sisters are doing well."
Sil nodded, "good. How are your studies?"
"The magic stuff doesn't make sense to me. I don't know the language. I have taken a break and gone back to studying plants for now."
Sil nodded, "how about you study me for the night…"
Lana laughed and kissed him deeply. "This face …. It's so hard…"
Sil chuckled, "then close your eyes. Let your husband prove it's me in the best way possible," he breathed the words into her ear and her knees went weak. She did as he said but when she opened them, she switched to looking at his aura instead. He was just as captivating as he always had been. He still stole her breath away.
Lana found herself not wanting the night to end. It felt like she was visiting her husband in a prison with conjugal visits as they only happened on the monthly visits to teach the girls. He was in the school under cover. If she visited more often, if she allowed him to wear his ring, if she was seen with him without others, his cover would be blown. Not only that, it would increase the chances of Hilston learning about Sil's family. Too many knew already.
