Was that Nik's version of flirting with him? So many questions. So few answers.
After practice, when everybody had showered and began to trail out to their various vehicles, Eli cornered him.
"Thank you very much for behaving yourself for the remainder of your suspension," Eli said. He'd shaved recently, the absence of greyish stubble making him appear a bit younger.
"Only for you," Blair said. Then, a bit quieter: "Nik and I are gonna have the talk today. Or at least a talk. I don't know."
Eli's eyes widened perceptibly, though he didn't say anything. Blair had to give him credit for trying. In all his years of hockey, he'd probably never had to deal with two teammates tiptoeing around a relationship with one another before.
He was doing the best he could.
"Well, good luck," he said at length. Blair grinned and flashed him a thumbs up.
