Hours later, settling into his seat near the back of the plane, Blair started to conjure a plan. There had to be something he could do to make life easier for his linemate. Not that his motivation was purely altruistic, of course. He preferred not to have to sneak out and break curfew again. He also preferred not to get mauled to death.
But more and more, he found himself sympathizing with the idea that discovering his teammate's werewolf heritage had somehow made his human struggles more real.
For the next four games, the Breakers were at home. They hosted New York, Minnesota, Nashville, then St. Louis. Though the team was playing well, nobody expected them to launch straight into another four- game winning streak. The Breakers were blessed with above-average goaltending from both their starter and their backup. Bordy continued to play lights-out, but when Conrad took a start to let him rest, the backup didn't allow a single goal.
