Chapter 163: Saving the Day, First Encounter with the Two Emperors
"What happened?"
Hyotei followed and dived to the bottom of the pool. Before she could see what was happening she sensed a huge energy fluctuation.
Then came the Snow Empress's reminder to leave.
She dared not ignore Xue Di's warning and immediately rushed towards the surface.
Although Xue Di's cultivation level was powerful it did not reach the level of a million years.
Moreover this was someone else's home turf and she would never be foolish enough to start a battle with that remnant soul in this pool of water.
Snow Empress caught up with Ice Empress and swam toward the surface of the water.
They were fast but the energy fluctuation at the bottom of the pool was even faster.
With a "boom" an extremely cold energy shock came from the bottom of the pool and the Ice Empress and Snow Empress quickly used their defensive skills.
Both of them were swept to the surface by the energy impact.
The milky white spring water burst open and a giant scorpion over a metre tall and a naked white-haired beauty were sent flying backward.
"Sister Snow Empress are you alright?" Ice Empress asked still a little shaken.
Fortunately her scorpion shell was hard and since she was originally an ice-attribute ferocious beast she was not seriously injured.
Xue Di shook her head her gaze fixed solemnly on the now calm pool below.
"What did you find at the bottom of the pool? It's terrifying!"
The Snow Empress said "That is the origin of a divine-level ice dragon!"
"What? The origin of the Ice Dragon?"
Ice Empress's spirits lifted. She refined the ice attribute essence of the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm which greatly improved her cultivation level.
If she could get a share of the divine ice dragon's essence wouldn't she be able to take off?
"Watch out it's coming!" Xue Di warned.
Hyotei looked at the surface of the pool and saw that the water which had just returned to calm was now rippling again.
Moreover the red pool on the other side also had undercurrents as if echoing the milky white spring water.
If there is the remains of an ice dragon at the bottom of the milky white icy pool then wouldn't there also be the remains of a fire dragon on the other side?
Moreover if they still retain divine power the Ice Empress and the Snow Empress might not be their match.
"Sister Snow Empress let's run!" Ice Empress urged.

She was about to agree but it was too late.
The ripples on the surface of the pool were broken and they awakened two sleeping ancient dragons.
Unbeknownst to them tens of thousands of years later these two dragon kings were still able to exert power almost like demigods.
Their remnants of soul and essence hadn't dissipated to such an extent yet so the strength they could unleash was only higher not lower.
If divine power still remains in their origins then the Ice Empress and the Snow Empress would be no match for them.
"Oh no!"
The two women looked serious. At this moment they dared not turn their backs to the enemy and could only fight with all their might.
Hyotei unleashed a beam of emerald light meeting the fire dragon formed from the scalding red pool water.
The Snow Empress then condensed ice into a sword and stabbed it at the ice dragon formed from the milky white icy pool water.
A massive energy shockwave exploded instantly and the cultivation levels on both sides were extremely terrifying.
Hyotei and Xue Di exhausted some of their power in order to dive to the bottom of the pool and thus suffered a loss in this battle.
The woman and the scorpion were sent flying backward only to be met with a massive pillar of fire spewed out by the fire dragon.
"Oh no!"
Snow Empress and Ice Empress trembled with fear at the sight of the terrifying flames; if they were hit they would also be injured.
Xue Di is alright; she can heal her wounds slowly.
However the Ice Empress has now broken through the bottleneck of 400,000 years and is about to face the 400,000-year tribulation of the Soul Beast.
If she cannot recover before the heavenly tribulation arrives she will likely perish during it.
Upon realising this Xue Di immediately turned around and stood in front of Bing Di intending to resist the fire dragon's attack with her own strength.
"Sister Snow Empress no!"
Hyotei saw through Xue Di's thoughts so how could she be willing to let the Xue Di she admired help her avoid disaster?
But there was nothing she could do at that moment; she could only unleash her full power to activate her domain and work in conjunction with Xue Di's domain to resist.
Qi Tian who was in Hyotei's mind also saw this scene; those terrifying flames were indeed difficult to deal with.
If the two women Hyotei and Xue Di were at their peak they might be able to contend with them but they expended a great deal of energy to dive to the bottom of the pool.
He never expected that the remnant soul which was supposed to awaken tens of thousands of years later would be awakened prematurely.
Qi Tian sighed. He didn't want the Ice Empress and Snow Empress to get hurt here so he had to find a way to rescue them.
Five-coloured light flashed and Qi Tian used the Sea-Stabilising Pearl to travel through space.
"Ouch it's so cold!"
The combined domains of Hyotei and Xue Di created an environment several times colder than the core of the far north seemingly capable of freezing everything.
Fortunately Qi Tian had a small Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Eye inside his body which gave him the ability to be immune to ice and fire energy; otherwise he would probably have been frostbitten.
He immediately used all his strength to activate the divine artefact the Sea-Stabilising Pearl.
The only way for Qi Tian to deal with this level of ability was by using a divine artefact.
Hyotei and Xue Di naturally noticed the suddenly appearing human but they didn't have time to deal with him.
Qi Tian activated the artefact space absorbing the fire dragon's attack skill and significantly reducing the power of its abilities.
Xue Di's eyes lit up. With someone sharing the burden of the remnant soul's skills her pressure was greatly reduced.
The Empress of Extreme Cold struck out with her palm extinguishing the terrifying flames.
"Run!"
Qi Tian had just received a demigod's skill which greatly depleted his energy leaving him looking somewhat pale.
He stepped forward and embraced Xue Di simultaneously taking control of Bing Di's body turning her into human form and holding her in his arms.
Snow Empress frowned. How could she as the queen of the far north be embraced by a human man?
But when she noticed that Hyotei didn't resist and saw Qi Tian's familiar gaze she guessed Qi Tian's identity.
Having learned from her previous experience she knew that Qi Tian meant them no harm so she did not resist and let Qi Tian hold her in his arms.
Qi Tian activated the artefact again and the three of them instantly entered the artefact's space.
With the divine artefact activated several times in succession how could Qi Tian with only level 59 cultivation withstand it?
Before he made his move he had already put a piece of Dragon Ganoderma leaf in his mouth. Now that his soul power was exhausted Qi Tian quickly swallowed the Dragon Ganoderma leaf to recover.
"Huh?"
The two pools of water transformed into giant dragons looked curiously at the place where the three had disappeared but found no trace of them.
To minimise the wear and tear on their remnants the two dragons transformed back into the pool of water and disappeared back into it.
Soon the surface of the pool returned to calm.
