The entire unicorn clan showed the utmost goodwill and tolerance towards Cohen and Ari, and quickly accepted Cohen's identity as a Hogwarts student.
(Do students and unicorns clash?)
Because they believe more in the bond of blood, just as people tend to trust their own eyes, bloodline magic is their eyes.
It can only be said that unicorns truly deserve the title of "the most beautiful creature imaginable in all fairy tales."
Surrounded by unicorns, Cohen was forced to sit by the lake.
The surrounding snow had been magically erased, revealing soft, green grass underneath—who knows why there would be grass under the winter snow? Cohen felt that the unicorns' magic was turning everything around him into a "fairy tale."
There was even a golden unicorn cub (unicorns are golden in their youth, turning silver as adults) who gave Cohen a pink flower.
After placing the flower in Cohen's hand, the little golden unicorn snuggled into his arms and rolled around.
Unicorns have souls ranging from 15 to 40, and even their souls bear a "curse of purity," branding any attempt to kill them.
Cohen is currently unsure of the curse's purpose.
After all, the relevant books only state that "when you kill such pure, vulnerable lives out of greed and lust, you possess a half-dead life, a cursed life."
How the curse works is not recorded.
This is why there are countless outlaws who attempt to hunt unicorns for their blood, believing the curse of killing unicorns is insignificant.
Cohen speculates that the curse might be applied to a person's fate—after all, Quirrell and Voldemort, who drank unicorn blood, did fail in their attempt to steal the Philosopher's Stone; Quirrell died, and Voldemort reverted to a bodyless ghost.
However, all of this had nothing to do with Cohen—he was just there to collect some blood. As a beloved "new member" of the unicorn clan, Cohen could easily collect both fur and blood.
Even when Cohen said he was being threatened by a dark wizard to harm his own kind for blood, they all rushed to donate blood—
especially the very responsible unicorn chief, Fyodor.
He insisted on doing it himself and strongly urged Cohen not to hurt himself.
It really made Cohen cry.
So Cohen only collected one whole test tube of blood and didn't ask for more.
[Is that all you need? Won't the monster still bother you?]
Chief Fyodor asked worriedly.
[Ding! Sin value +100]
[Note: You said "Unicorns don't lie to unicorns"]
"If he bothers me again, I'll... I'll..." Cohen imitated Hermione, pretending to be strong.
[Don't be afraid, child. If he still bothers you, come back to us, and we'll fight him together.]
Fyodor tenderly rubbed Cohen's hair.
"Healed as before."
Cohen cast a healing spell on its wound, and the bleeding wound slowly began to heal.
This gesture warmed its heart, and its gaze towards Cohen became even more affectionate.
[Goodwill Value +100]
[Note: Every evil villain puts on an act]
This is clearly pure kindness!
Cohen was extremely dissatisfied with the system's evaluation, which had an incredibly low presence.
It was trying to lead him down the path of evil.
Although Cohen didn't actually need any guidance...
"Swish—"
Just after Cohen put the vial of reagent into the system's nine-slot backpack, the sound of something running came from the forest on the other side of the frozen lake.
Like horse hooves—
Cohen knew what it was in the next second.
The centaur had come smelling the unicorn's blood.
"Is that guy who attacked the unicorn back again, Fyodor?"
The black-haired centaur Bane, carrying a bow and arrow, rushed out of the forest.
"I smell unicorn blood—what's he doing here!"
Bane's gaze fell on Cohen.
This strange wizard child had a very similar aura to the Dementor that had inexplicably helped them clear out the giant spiders.
If it were approaching the giant spiders' nest, Bane certainly wouldn't care, but it had approached the only unicorn clan in the forest…
[It's our new kin, a unicorn cub]
Fyodor hissed at Bane.
[And its mother, Ari.]
"This kid doesn't look like a unicorn at all!!"
Bane's voice shook the snow off the treetops as if he'd heard something utterly absurd, like another snowfall.
"He doesn't even have a horn!"
Cohen pitifully hugged his little unicorn "fellow kin" tighter.
[You frightened it, Bane]
Fyodor's voice carried a hint of anger.
[We naturally have our own standards of judgment]
"Are you blind?" Bane said angrily. "Don't forget that a unicorn was attacked not long ago!"
But none of the unicorns sided with Bane; they insisted that "Cohen is a unicorn"—making Cohen himself believe he was a unicorn.
But Bane clearly couldn't and didn't want to clash with the unicorns, so he had no choice but to retreat back into the forest.
Cohen stayed among the unicorn herd for a long time. The scents of the unicorns even changed according to Cohen's mood, from vanilla ice cream to honey cake, and even briefly smelled like White Rabbit candy—Cohen was quite certain there was no White Rabbit candy here.
Unfortunately, the only food they provided was grass and shrub leaves—after Chief Fyodor offered Cohen fresh grass and shrub branches with tender leaves, Cohen left with his "mother" Ari, citing "I need to go back to the castle to study."
This time, they wouldn't send Ari back to Hagrid. Because of the dragon egg, the cabin's living conditions were comparable to a volcanic cave.
If given the chance, Cohen wanted to raise a purebred unicorn.
[You mean I don't meet the standards?]
Ari asked strangely.
"You don't smell like vanilla ice cream, and you'd better not have any special thoughts about me," Cohen reminded her. "Be careful, in human society this is called promiscuity—"
[What nonsense are you talking about? If you don't like it, then quickly break that unbreakable oath!]
Ari snorted angrily through her nose.
[How come you have such strange thoughts in your head, just like that bird…]
It almost said, "How did I give birth to such a creature?" but then realized that Cohen wasn't actually its offspring, because those wizards had only taken its blood.
"Is it a disadvantage to follow me?"
Cohen retorted.
"I've been pretty good to you and the Earl, haven't I? The Earl has the most expensive owl food, you have the butterbeer Hagrid gave you, and I haven't oppressed you..."
"Or... how about you live with the unicorn colony from now on?" Cohen suddenly thought of something, "And get along well with those unicorns?"
[Okay]
Ari agreed with unusually fast speed.
Cohen immediately realized something was wrong.
"Wait, you're not allowed to drink with those unicorns later!"
